Caza V1 is a wonderful little gem in the center of Rayong. Very happy I stayed here, excellent hotel especially for the price.

-- Room --

The room itself isn't much to write home about, but it's clean and comfortable and gets the job done. One perk is it comes with a fairly large fridge, so you can stock up on food and drinks while you stay here. Considering Thailands fairly strict serving times for alcohol, this will serve you well as couples or when in a group and you want to chill out with some wine for the night.

The curtains open open almost an entire side of the wall, which makes the whole room filled with wonderful Thailand sun. The curtains themselves are great at keeping the light out if you need to nap in the middle of the day.

Another bonus, the wifi is free, reliable and really fast. Always a perk when travelling.

-- Location --

If you're hoping to stay somewhere where you're in walking distance of a beach, you'll have to look somewhere else. BUT, that doesn't mean the beach isn't easy to get to. It seems a lot of tourists stay here with the intent of getting to Koh Samet, but there's some great little beaches in Rayong which are a 10 minute drive away.

I took a cab to the beach the first day, which was a mistake on my part since he dropped me off in the middle of nowhere and I had to try and navigate myself to the beach. The good news: the hotel rents bikes! They have two bikes available for rent for a very cheap 150THB ($4.50USD)/day, and I've rented one for two of the days I spent here. The staff was very helpful in getting the bikes set up, and their on-site mechanic came and tuned them up for me. Even if you're not going to the beach (which is a 20-minute bike ride away), get a bike and pedal around Rayong for a few hours. The roads are fairly flat and easy to navigate.

-- Staff --

The staff are lovely at this hotel. The owner greeted me when I checked in late at night, and helped me bring my stuff up to my room. He was very helpful in giving me guidance on how to get around Rayong, and always stops to chat when I see him. I've seen him working behind the desk, he helped me get my laundry when the housekeeper wasn't around, and generally puts around the hotel working -- it says something about the passion of a hotel owner when they're willing to work beside the staff to run the business. Good guy.

Almost none of the restaurant staff speak English, so point to the menu items you want to order. One of my new favourite people is one of the restaurant staff who speaks zero English, but is always very bubbly, energetic, and tries to converse with the English she's picked up from me. The food is good, not exceptional but I've been happy eating here.

Most of the staff speaks little to no English, but you'll run into this everywhere in Rayong. They do try and understand you, just be patient and look for common verbs and nouns and Google pictures if you have to.

-- Area --

One thing you absolutely need to know about Rayong: pretty much no one speaks English here, in restaurants or elsewhere. My first day here I felt a bit polarized since people will cover their mouths and run away when I say "Hello". Just exert patience and adjust your expectations on how you'll be interacting with the local community. Speak in single verbs and nouns. For example, instead of "Can I get the cheque please" just say "cheque" or "bill" so it's easier for them to understand. Other singular, helpful words:

Cheque/Bill
Toilet
Cost/How Much
Water
Taxi
Hot
Cold

Also, if you're white, people *will* stare at you. Some might even run up and ask to take a picture with you (as a blonde white girl I've been subject to about a dozen selfies at the beach).

If you ask someone for help and they run away, don't take offense. Chances are they went to find someone who speaks better English than they do.

Rayong itself has some nice beaches, though that's about it. There's some good restaurants and some decent shopping nearby. Laemtong Shopping Center is about a 5 minute drive (or 10 minute bike ride) away, and has lots of good shopping, food, and arcades.

Overall I was very happy staying at Caza V1, the staff and atmosphere have made it feel like a home for the 5 days spent here. If you're looking to experience some native Thailand, Caza V1 is an amazingly affordable and comfortable option in the heart of Rayong.

Good points:-
-Good value
-Nice hot shower.
-Comfortable bed.
-Loved the Koi Pond.
-Nice Gym.
-Friendly & polite room cleaners who were very helpful.
_Beautiful Koi pond.
Location was great for us as we chose to stay away from the hot spot "Ban Phe". It's only 5 minutes or so walk to the night market where you'll find lots of bargains and lovely foods and friendly local people. Same distance also if you need to get a song-teaw or get to the bus terminal which is situated in the market. We would recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Bad points-
Very expensive laundry service. There are many others near by and very cheap.
-Fairly expensive to eat in the restaurant. Many places to eat near by so no need to eat there.
-Internet was annoying because one machine can only be connected at a time.
-Some receptionists need to learn to smile a little more.

This hotel locates right in the center of everything, nightlife, fresh market, night market, transportation hub and old town. The lobby is beautifully decorated. The room was very clean and the staff were very freindly and helpful. The thing that impressed us most was the food at the hotel restaurant. They have a great variety of menu items and the price is very reasonable compare to the quality of food they served. Theire cakes were just wonderful. Theire coffee was also of good quality, freshly brewed from good quality beans. The air conditioner and TV were very new. Theri hairdryer was very powerful and quiet.

We will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who will come to Rayong.

Check in easy
Very very clean everywhere
Five min walk to bus station or night bazaar
In room flat screen tv with cable tv - great
Wifi great
fridge sparkling clean
Swipe card Security doors and lift available
Free parking furniture simple and stylish, good aircon
Quiet
Hot water bad as with most places in Thailand-- only hot with a small trickle
Surely there are places with better value (we paid 850baht per night) -- considering rayong is a pretty non touristy area and without breakfast the price seems a bit steep.

had dinner with family at CazaV1 restaurant, the restaurant is nice, very clean, the service was excellence and the menu are extensive, so many to choose Thai, Chinese, Italian
we ordered steam Indian salmon with soy sauce, stir-fried Chinese kale with crispy pork, shrimps salad, Northern Thai sausage and RunJaun Curry
the RunJuan curry is not the usual curry you can find in the Thai restaurant, it very tasty and different, quite strong shrimp paste taste, so beware
all the other foods were very good
excellence meal
