We stayed with our daughters and families for nearly two weeks. The staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The rooms were fairly basic but very clean. The breakfasts were excellent. The Pool was large and well maintained and very much enjoyed by the children especially with the inflatables which were provided. The beach was attractive and safe but not large and there were good sunbeds and umbrellas on the terrace. It was in a very quiet location but within easy reach of numerous restaurants. All in all, a very good place to stay.

I booked for a friend, booking was non-refundable, meaning hotel will charge my CC automatically. On arrival. guest was told that payment was not made, and they asked either for cash, or local card. Furthermore, the receptionist could not communicate in English. Overpriced, with lack of basic room supplies. Before you book, make sure that your advance payment has gone through.

Nice bungalows, fantastic view, very friendly staff, quite hotel, nice beach (but the sunbeds should be replaced) and the most amazing is the food at their restaurant like Thai homemade cooking and delicious and fresh seafood. The food is much better than at the other restaurants eventhough the top rated... we tried them and could compare! Highly recommended

A lovely quiet resort with a private beach. It was not a very busy time and was lovely. The pool was clean and access to the beach was right there. You could have breakfast overlooking the water. The rooms were clean and simple, good AC, TV, mini-fridge. Comfortable bed. I liked how it was up high on the hill overlooking the ocean. It was a cool set up. In either direction there were little restaurants, highly recommend Chocolate House too.

There are some very mixed reviews on here for this resort so I will try and provide as much factual info as possible. The resort accommodation sits facing a beautiful, clean and uncrowded beach which had only a few people on it when we were there, so the location is most definitely very nice. The restaurant is adjacent to the beach and it is a very nice place to eat or sit and relax with a drink. The food was fine, although a bit more expensive than in Sae Kaew. Staff at the resort were helpful and friendly. The resort swimming pool was nice, clean, had ample sunloungers and was uncrowded. There are a few shops close to the resort but apart from them there is not much else nearby. However, Sae Kaew is only 10 minutes drive away. Motorbikes can be rented next to the resort for only £6 a day, so getting about is not a problem. If you rent one, drive slowly, the roads on Ko Samet are narrow and have many large potholes.

The resort accommodation itself is fairly basic but was clean and comfortable, reached by wooden stairs and walkways. The Samed Cliff is more expensive than many other hotels on Ko Samet, but if you want total relaxation and an uncrowded swimming pool and lovely beach right next to your accommodation it's perfect. If you prefer multiple bars, shops and restaurants close by then Sae Kaew is a better option. However, we loved the relaxing feel of the resort, the proximity of the nice beach and swimming pool and getting to Sae Kaew when we wanted was very easy.

Lastly when you arrive at Ban Phe to get the boat to Ko Samet you will be swamped with touts selling you all sorts of boat tickets at all different prices. You can go by speedboat or slow boat. As it only takes about 45 minutes on the slow boat, there isn't much point in paying extra for a speedboat unless you want to experience it. Before you buy tickets, speak to a few ticket agents to get a good price to avoid being ripped off!

This place is TERRIBLE for families. It is soooo dangerous. My son (2) fell off the balcony of one of the bungalows...apparently they ran out of wood to finish off the railing! It was a 3 meter fall!!! We were soooooooooo lucky that he fell onto the dirt and not the pieces of concrete and steel sticking up from under the balcony! All he had were abrasions.

I complained - and they looked at me like I was from another planet. Couldn't care less. Didn't care that I wanted to speak to the manager - this finally happened although it took HOURS with NO result (not even an apology.)

There are many lovely places to go on Koh Samed - don't go to this one!!

This was the only place available to book last minute online over the christmas period. Staying there at christmas meant we had to pay nearly double the normal hotel rate - not good value for money!

Our bungalow was basic but nice, and the whole complex is attractive. It just needs a bit of work done to tidy it up and add a bit of character. The pool and beach seemed OK - and very quiet. If you're after somewhere quiet to relax then this could be a good option. For us it was a bit too far away from any entertainment.

We hired a motorbike and spent most of our time at the other side of the island where there's a lot more going on - nice beaches, restaurants, bars etc. On one of our longer bikerides around the island we discovered a lovely beach in the 'posh' area, by the Ao Prao Resort. This was definitely the best beach on the island.

Koh Samet/Samed island is convenient for a quick trip away from Bangkok, but is not as picturesque as other islands. Also I was very conscious of merely being a source of income. Of course you expect this as a tourist, but I honestly felt like a walking pound sign! Quite a few restaurants and bars tried to overcharge us, so be careful.

Samed Cliffs is a nice hotel on a quiet beach in Samed. Just a short motorbike away from the more popular locations of Samed. For the price though, there are better locations for much cheaper prices on the island.

The rooms are worn out. The breakfast is poor. No restaurant to serve you food for dinner. When you come back from a day trip at 8 pm you only find cats in the restaurant. No service at all. No internet in the rooms or in restaurant. No sand beach. You have to hire motorbike to get to the next resort or to the village. No public transport.

I went there with my wife...our cottage thrid in the row from the beach and on a height ...so giveing us a clear view of the beahc...which was really good. The staff was very helpful and accomodative as well...The cottages were in very well mainted condition....

Only small issue is that if you want to go to Sai Kaew beach than you have to rent a taxi costing 200THB ....otherwise a good recommendation for anyone looking a bit of peace and calm environment ....and want spend some romantic time with their loved ones...
