I've been coming to this hotel for over twenty years and It's been four years since our last visit to The Anatara ,Hua Hin thanks to all the problems associated with the Covid pandemic.
My partner has written a review but I also felt the need to commend the hotel.
I was a little apprehensive to return after four years away but I'm happy to report that the hotel is still as fantastic as ever and it was a pleasure to return to the beautiful Lagoon Room.
Thank you to the front desk for a very welcoming check in and for granting us our particular room request.
It was lovely to see some of the old staff who treat us like friends. Alex made us feel as welcome as ever and as always he was a source of knowledge and advice.
Game at breakfast provided exceptional service along with his colleagues Noey and Boom.
I have to say all of the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful which is what makes this hotel so charming. Jane and Im at the lagoon bar were always helpful and attentive. Even the gardeners and the bell boys at front reception always greeted us with genuine smiles.
I do hope that management reinstates the morning shuttle into town as we often used it in past years and missed not having this service this year.
I cant wait to return next year for more time in your beautiful paradise.

This has got to be one of the best resorts I have stayed at globally. The hotel layout, being a selection of separate wings that are only 2 floors high, is a real plus point. the rooms are spacious and well appointed but furniture is a little worn. If you want a view you'll have to pay extra, but we never saw this is a problem due to the added privacy in the grounds. The grounds are gorgeous with plenty of flora and fauna. There are completely separate pool and beach areas with plentiful sunbeds and towels which you never have to fight for or get up at dawn to reserve! The service was impeccable with very friendly and polite staff. The breakfast was a real treat, with a great selection of both western and eastern food served up buffet style with excellent service and hygiene. The hotel is a little isolated but there is a shuttle which costs 50THB pp ew to use hourly but you do have to book early. The town centre is accessible in 10 minutes. The main criticism I have of the hotel is the charges for food and drink which I believe should be made more competitive. The wifi is excellent both in the room and grounds. The TV channels are also pretty extensive with USB / HDMI connection points located in the wall for easy access.

Dear GerryGG, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us once again, very nice to see you like our traditional Thai village style with low-rise gabled pavilions are set among lush tropical grounds. The main criticism on F&B that you mentioned, we have been working on it by doing the survey and make it more competitive. The project will be finished in March with new price structure in place. Only with feedback from such loyal patrons as yourself can continue to scrutinize our services and grow the hotel portfolio successfully, even more so given that this is the first ever Anantara. Best regards, Chonthicha Kaewchaluai (Ni) Executive Secretary to General Manager

We have just returned from a 10 day stay at this lovely hotel. Without exception the staff were friendly and professional and with good English for us lazy British who don’t speak Thai. We stayed in a Junior lagoon view suite which was well appointed and serviced twice daily with fresh towels and water. The room was kept very clean and was a good size for two. The grounds were very pretty and having the use of the lagoon pool which was quiet and peaceful was a bonus. The staff at the lagoon pool were eager to please and soft drinks were free. Food at lunchtime was served at the bar or at the sun bed and the helpings generous. The hotel provided transport on the hour into Hua Hin which was complimentary for suite guests but the hotel would also call taxis if you wished. We have visited Hua Hin three times before, but not at this hotel, and have to say this was certainly the best hotel we stayed at and we will visit again. There are three restaurants to choose from in the evening and we eat at all three. The beach restaurant afforded views of the sea and the steaks cooked nicely and melted in the mouth. The Italian restaurant served generous meals in a lovely atmosphere and made you feel very welcome. The Thai restaurant was also nice. All in all we really enjoyed our stay in this peaceful hotel and am sure others will too.

Wow is all I can say . A stunning resort . From reception to rooms , pool , spa , restaurants there is nothing I could fault.

The breakfast is completely wonderful . The Italian restaurant the food is incredible ( although very expensive )

My only complaint is that everything food wise is over priced and a bottle of ordinary wine is £50ish which is ridiculous . We take the courtesy bus into hua hin in the evenings where there is an amazing choice of restaurants and incredible food.

Would recommend this hotel to anyone it would not disappoint the most discerning of guests.

The staff are also fantastic . Friendly and helpful .

Dear B7619ZCliza, Good morning from Hua Hin, the royal city of Thailand. Your encouraging compliments are certainly appreciated and have been passed on to our team who were thrilled to learn about you great experience and appreciative comments. By the way, we have checked and aligned our food & beverage price list with competitor hotels. I would say many items we are cheaper than them. Plus we place promotion in each outlet to ensure our guests are paying less. Have a safe trip! Chonthicha Kaewchaluai (Ni) Executive Secretary to General Manager

As a person whose travelled to Thailand numerous times, this has been my worst hotel experience to date and I’ve lived in hostels that were better.

This place though “one with nature”, etc is completely mosquito infested. Their rooms, outside their rooms, even their library and breakfast room have mosquitos. Over a 4 day period my legs and hands are completely bitten raw.

Moreover, the hotel AC despite having a regulator in the room, the AC never worked and the room was just hot and the funniest bit - the 31 degree Celsius heat outside was cooler than the room inside.

Despite requesting multiple times, they did not even have the courtesy to spray mosquito repellant or check on the AC while the party who were with us were given a suite upgrade because they were facing the same problems for no extra cost. We were infact told that we were given a “premium garden view” which is what their most basic room category and unlike other rooms we were given one that had no garden view but had a running open gutter where staff were constantly cleaning so there went our privacy or ability to keep windows and blinds open.

All in all Hua Hin, though a gorgeous place, you’d be better off staying at the Hyatt or Intercontinental for the same amount of money than this horrid place.

Dear Levithinmints, Thank you very much for sharing your review about your experience at Anantara Hua Hin Resort. Our aim is always to provide our guests with outstanding service and a unique experience, sow as disappointing to read that overall your stay was not a memorable one. Indeed the resort is very much to be considered one with nature and we are very proud of the meandering pathways and tropical foliage which encompasses the property. In regards to the comments that you mentioned, the other room in your party paid for an upgrade experience in order to have a higher category room type. In terms of the air condition the room doors should not be left open as this will raise the air condition temperature and cause the inside temperature essentially to match the outside, which at this time of year can reach 31 degrees Celsius. Upon checking our records the AC in that particular room is functioning to standard. It is our aim to strive to meet guest’s satisfaction and please accept my apology for the stay that you experienced. Please rest assured that my team has taken your comments seriously and I hope you will notice the improvement should you return in the future. Best regards, Graeme Ure General Manager

Great facilities, breakfast buffet was superb, nice beach and pool. Friendly staff, willing to make accommodations to guests needs. We had a two-room suite which we would cringe to pay that much on our own, but for a business conference our costs were covered. Mini bar and laundry service prices were incredibly high, probably similar to most places. Better value to walk 5 minutes outside the resort to 711 for snacks/drinks and find a nearby laundromat for laundry.

I had a good feeling about this hotel just driving up through the lush tropical vegetation. Beautifully manicured lawns, trees and hedges. Immediate response from the bellboy and ushered by him to Kelly at reception who checked us in quickly and with no fuss. I had arrived early and the room was not quite ready so Kelly very kindly showed us to the reading room for the short wait for our room. We had a junior suite which was very pleasant and the bedding felt very luxurious {very important for me as I like a good nights sleep} fully stocked minibar and a modern TV with a good choice of channels. The bathroom in my suite was stunning with a hand built polished concrete bath which was huge, walk in shower and double sinks nicely finished it off. The pool is a good sized proper resort pool with attentive service from the bar staff. We went to the BBQ buffet in the evening and again I was pleasantly surprised with the large choice of fresh seafood and sides. Once again very good service from the waiting staff and several chatty visits by on duty managers added to the ambience of the evening. I would definitely recommend this hotel for all types of travellers and I myself will be coming back. For me the best hotel that I have stayed at in Hua Hin and I have stayed at a lot over the last 20 years.

We stayed at the Anantara Hua Hin for ten nights as a family of four we had two deluxe garden view rooms which we’re both kept immaculate by the housekeeping department.
Very comfortable bed, good size room and nice bathroom.
We had a meal at the Italian restaurant one night which was amazing and had a couple of meals at the beach restaurant again excellent with very big portions both very reasonable prices for what you get.
Breakfast was served at the Issara cafe and the choice of food was excellent. All of the breakfast staff were lovely very helpful friendly and worked hard.
Special thanks to Nok who looked after us at the pool bar alongside Gift and Ken they really made the afternoon drinks well at happy hour.
Great swimming pool with plenty of sun lounges and shaded areas.
The hotel is set in lovely tropical gardens with lots of Thai culture.
I would highly recommend staying at this hotel and would definitely go back, all of the staff are a huge attribute to the hotel.
Many thanks for a great holiday

We spent two nights here in July 2021. It was perfect as always. We got nice room overlooking the pool. Good atmosphere for relax, also work and study online at the same time. Wifi signal was excellent throughout. However, what impressed me the most was the very fiiendly and professional staffs. They are very attentive since we called the hotel and made reservation. Staffs recognize us from our guest history even it was like 5 years last time we stayed. Breakfast was great. Big compliment for your exqisite hospitality. In particular, Mr.Veto at the frontdesk who take care of my family extremely well during our short break here. He is obviously attentive to details and work very hard to get all guests very happy. Kudos to him and all staffs. We will definitely come back.

We stayed at the Anantara Hua Hin over Christmas and the New Year. Overall it was a good experience. The grounds of the hotel are very picturesque, we particularly enjoyed the sounds of the frogs and insects after dark. We had an Ocean view room which was spacious, the bed was very comfortable and the pillows very luxurious. As a previous reviewer mentioned the rooms are slightly tired and in need of an upgrade, a wardrobe door which kept sticking for example, but everything was immaculate, the temperature of the shower was quite hard to regulate and as another reviewer mentioned lighting in the bathroom could have been better. The walls were quite thin and if the neighbouring room watched tv it could be quite intrusive. There are many dining options available, the best was the Thai restaurant Rim Nam, we also tried the Italian, Baan Thalia, which was good too. Breakfast offered a wide choice of food but was quite crowded at times The staff were very helpful and attentive. Special mention to Grace at breakfast, Nan and Gift at Rim Nam Thai restaurant, Pu at the beach, Dawan at reception, and all the bar staff. If we were to return to Hua Hin we would stay here again.

Dear Primepork, Thank you for staying and joining us during the festive, the resort is modelled on a traditional Thai village, low-rise gabled pavilions are set among lush tropical grounds with lotus-filled lagoons and meandering pathways through exotic foliage. All points that you raised in terms of temperature of shower, bathroom lighting and wall insulation proof, I have shared with the relevant managers this morning. Something that we are currently working on continue to invest into and assure the improvement projects don't stop. We appreciate your kind praise of our team members. I will ensure to share this feedback with Grace, Nan, Gift, Pu, Dawan and the rest of the team. Looking forward to seeing and serving you again soonest. There were a few people who swam in the ocean. As for the pool, we only swam in the main pool twice, not the private pool in the lagoon section. It was chlorinated but didn’t seem harsh at that time.

Definitely best eating out. The breakfasts are amazing with a huge choice of foods. We always booked onto the shuttle bus (free for lagoon suite guests) and got off at the Clocktower. Or further on at Market Village mall where there are masses of eateries. Have a fab time.
