Even the hotels name is a little bit missleading, the hotel is around 20 kilometers away from Hua Hin, even closer to ChaAm, it is an excellent place I can absulutly recommend. The Hotel is very nice designed, the rooms are very comfortable, nice and clean. The open bathroom is impressing and the shower has a perfect waterpressure. The pools are amazing. The staff is extremly friendly and helpfull. The breakfast excellent. Overall the hotel is very childfriendly and kids have alot of entertainment. It is ean excellent place to chill and relax.The restaurant is very good and at the beach bar Thomas is preparing excellent cocktails.We definetly will come back.

The So Sofitel Hua Hin resort was beautiful and the rooms were very well designed. The service by the staff was also good. But it was one of the worst resort stay that we had so far because of two reasons.
The first was because that the resort held two functions - a wedding and a corporate function - that evening, which were quite understanding.
What disturbed us and made it such a nightmare stay was that the very loud throbbing music from the corporate function went on all night and did not stop till 2am in the morning. We could not sleep at all and while we could tolerate the music, we did not expect it to last till 2am and for a resort like So Sofitel. We made complaints to the front desk but nothing was done to lower the volume.
At check in, they did warn us there would be loud music due to an event. I asked till what time, and they say probably till midnight. However at midnight, the loud music still continued and the party got wilder with screaming by the people. I had a toddler with me ,and we called the reception about the noise around midnight. They said they party will only end around 2AM and said they will send security over. The noise and screaming never stopped. It is ridiculous as we were still ok to tolerate the noise, maybe till 10 or 11 pm.
The second was the functions held on the next day. The whole area around the large swimming pool and kids area were cordoned off as they had an event. They closed off the pool bar too and we were not able to get any drinks/food from there. Not only that they were just setting up stuff just behind where we were seated, and we were qutie worried that things will fall onto us.
We were then chased away while we were still swimming. They told us at 1230pm that they had an event at 12 noon and they were very late in the set up. See photo below of what they were doing literally just behind where we were seated . Worse was that the loud thobbing music started again but now at 12+pm in the afternoon. We checked out of the resort after that.
It was clear that the resort prioritised the revenue and needs of the corporate function organisers over the well-being and comfort of the guests. It was definitely not something that we expect from So Sofitel at all. We had previousy enjoyed our stay at other Accor and Sofitel resort, eg Sofitel Sentosa and The Raffles Hotel in Singapore and thus, we were extremely disappointed with So Sofitel Hua Him.
We had a much more pleasant and relaxiing stay at The Standard , and Marriott Hiua Hin. No loud throbbing music till the wee hours of the morninng, and no areas closed off to guests due to events.

Perfect venue for a luxury escape and relaxing stay. The hotel staff were all incredibly friendly and very helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. A very special mention and thanks to Pui ( manager of front office) who went way and beyond to make our stay so memorable ! Thanks so much Pui your friendliness and dedication to your work is exemplary. Our pool side room was spacious, beautifully decorated and very well maintained. Breakfast at White Oven was fabulous in the true So Sofitel style. Mr Somporn was always on hand to organise and keep the restaurant to its very high standard. We especially enjoyed the Indian cuisine at Beach Society and the chef Ashu kindly created some very tasty vegetarian dishes for us. A wonderful stay, we will tell everyone and definitely return soon!

However , for the white oven restaurant, We ordered Beef Green Curry but had to pay for 1 plate of steamed rice for 40 baht. It was very strange. What would you have Green Curry with? Ordering Western food still serves bread at the beach society, but another restaurant ordering Thai food has to pay extra for steamed rice.very strange??? The resort does have a lot of positives; great rooms, friendly staff, running track, large pools, however for us the resort has been a disappointment;
1) as vegetarians the Ala carte menus are extremely limited- meat only sandwiches, burgers and mains at the pool and beach side restaurant. 2) there is only one Inside restaurant and that is for buffet only- after being outside on trips, the pool etc it would be nice to be able to eat inside especially for our children 3) the beach is unusable due to jellyfish (I'm not sure if it is seasonal but there's no way kids can go in the water unless you're happy for them to take a risk on getting stung) 4) the new water feature in our opinion is a second water feature aimed at older kids. Children under 5 cannot use it and we feel the older kids already have the huge wibit that dominates the main pool to use. Our family of five, including three young kids under six, stayed at Sofitel Hua Hin from 11–15 February. We expected a five-star experience for $450 per night, but it was far from it.
As an Accor Gold member, I was informed a day before arrival that no complimentary upgrade was available. Upon arrival, we realized the lobby is only accessible by stairs, making check-in inconvenient with a stroller.
Our room smelled like vomit, and it took three hours to be moved. Housekeeping was also unreliable—we placed a “Please Clean Room” sign, left in the morning, and returned at noon to find nothing done.
The kids’ club was dirty, and staff were unwelcoming. On our third night, a four-hour power outage left us sweating in the dark. Worse, there are no elevators, making it a nightmare for families.
The only saving grace was the spa, which was reasonably priced. Banyan Tree Bangkok, where we stayed before this, was a far superior experience.
If you’re traveling with kids, avoid Sofitel Hua Hin. The poor service, lack of accessibility, and subpar facilities are not worth the price.

Activities: The resort is very kids-friendly with many kids activities, 3 swimming pools, games room, private beach and water sports available. Sports equipment are available for rental too. However, do note that some activities require additional fees. Location: Quite far away from the main road and no convenient stores/restaurants nearby. Shuttle bus to main town area of Cha-Am/Hua Hin available at a fee. Requires reservation in advanced. Food: Breakfast selection was good with several live stations (noodles, eggs) available. Beverages selection was good as well. Mains for lunch/dinner is quite costly. Room: Stayed at Comfy room. Room is spacious and clean, comfortable to stay in. No lift available though. Staff: All staff members were friendly and hospitable. Willing to help readily. Overall, it was a pleasant and enjoyable stay.
