I had only been travelling by myself for 1 week before getting here. And was amazed about the warm welcome and happy faces when getting here. The food for breakfast, lunch and dinner were all amazing and they would swap it up every night, even doing an amazing bbq one of the nights I was staying there. I read a lot and the swinging beds were prefect to relax on and am English so the pool table was an added bonus. Julieth was a great host and helped me plan my next trip, took me out to clubs and was just simply an amazing person (even if she did beat me at every card game we played). What JR, Cathrine (his wife) and julieth have created here is an amazing stay for any traveller and I highly recommend to anyone. Oh and can't forget there lovely dog albi who was a bundle of energy and loved your company, spent the most time with him whilst being here and reminded me of my own dog I have left at home.

There are no words to describe this wonderful piece of paradise ! I stayed here for one month and absolutely enjoyed every second. Juliet, the manager, tries to do everything she can to make their guests happy. The food is gorgeous (I had breakfast and dinner), because the chefs are just genius and loveable. The garden including a pool table and a cute little bar with great cocktails is a perfect place to relax. Even the dorms and the bathrooms are very comfortable and clean. If I could, I would give a 15 star review. I have no single complaint. This is the best hostel, I have ever visited. By far !

One of the best hostels I've been to! Had such a good stay at White House, I actually came back to stay after going on my safari. All the staff are so nice and welcoming, they have free breakfast, and offer dinner or lunch for $3. The food was ALWAYS delicious and something different everyday. The only thing is that you're not allowed to cook like you usually do in a hostel, but this is because they have their own chefs who cook delicious food so that's fair enough :) just don't go out and buy groceries if you intend to cook. I stayed in 2 different rooms and both were spacious enough to store your luggage and had hot water, the rooms were cleaned everyday and everything was very well maintained. The beds are also very comfortable. There is also the cutest house dog, so if you don't like dogs then they're happy to leave him in a room during your stay, but he's so friendly how can anyone not like him! It's also very close to the centre, you can take a local bus for 400 shillings or the hostel also offer transportation. They also organise tours aswell so there's no need to book anything in advance if you can't find a tour company. Overall I had a great stay and it really feels like home, and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a stay in Arusha!

We spent one night here, in a private room with its own bathroom. Our stay was pleasant on every level. I was particularly impressed by the delicious home cooked meals. Dinner included several dishes, and you could tell they were made with care. Breakfast was very tasty, with generous portions. The grounds were beautiful--a nice, relaxing place to chill out with a couple beers. I was a first time international traveller and was a bit nervous about staying in a hostel. But everything was clean, they had hot water, the staff was helpful, and we felt safe on the premises.
