The staff here are sure to go out of their way to take care of you. John Juma Emanuel especially is an employee worth mentioning. His attention to detail and genuine care was much appreciated. The level of service was beyond expected. Everyone at the hotel was great and the food is delicious.

Property's Favourite Review
My husband and I forged ahead with our honeymoon plans in Tanzania and are so glad we did. We stayed at the Arusha Coffee Lodge for two nights at the beginning of our trip and it was the perfect way to kick it off - we didn't even leave the hotel grounds, but there was plenty to do for our brief 36 hour stay. We didn't arrive until late in the evening (around 10pm) and the staff was immediately wonderful - they gave us a beautiful suite complete with champange and a lovely fruit basket. Breakfast was delicious al fresco. We did the coffee tour which was really interesting and was incredible to have freshly roasted coffee grown on the grounds. We also had massages which were wonderful. The shops on the grounds were perfect for picking up souvenirs. The staff went out of their way to make our trip very special including running a bath with petals in in and our last day, the staff arranged a private breakfast for us by the pool which was so very special. In regards to Covid, we felt extremely safe - there was a temperature check when we arrived and sanitizer and many masks, even though everything we did was outside. Also, location wise, it is less than 5 minutes from the Arusha airport where we flew out of for our safaris. I would highly recommend for anyone wanting an enjoyable and relaxing way to kick off their Tanzania adventure!

First hotel of our Safari. We were welcomed by friendly staff. Staff went out of their ways to make us comfortable after a long flight and drive. Cabins are nice, a bit dark but they do have style. We had diner with a few drinks, not to bad. Breakfast was also good. But then when we got the bill for the drinks our great experience at the Coffee lodge all of sudden got stained. Crazy prices for a beer. Then using a ridiculous exchange rate to calculate the dollar equivalent. We have been to some excellent hotels in Tanzania and at no place we saw these type of prices.... A pity

We stayed at Arusha Coffee Lodge for 2 nights prior to starting our safari in August. If you are able to, I highly recommend doing so as not only does it help you settle in, but you have the opportunity to really take in the beauty of the property. The lodge is about a 1.5-2 hour drive from Kilimanjaro airport, not too bad at all. We saw many little market stands along the roads selling interesting items, fruits, food, seemed quite lively. Pulling into the Arusha Coffee Lodge, there is security that takes your temperature, and honestly when the gates open, it just seemed so unreal. Probably partly because we had been waiting for this trip for so long, but just seeing this property in person, it struck me how beautiful it was. We were welcomed with a lovely iced coffee (we are not coffee drinkers but I would have had that drink everyday), and then shown around the property and to our room. The room was understated beauty. Everything one would need was there, ceiling fan and fireplace; small couch with a table, kettle and tea/coffee with some cookies (which were delicious). There was a table and chairs outside on the verandah if you wanted to just take in the beautiful surroundings, and the bathroom was huge with a walk in shower, bathtub and double sinks. Because we got there early afternoon, we were able to spend some time around the property before dinner, and got our first view of wildlife…the resident vervet monkeys! I was able to get a massage in before dinner, and it was fabulous. Thank you to Anna (I believe that’s her name!) who was just so lovely and gave the best massage. We ate at the main restaurant both days we were there, and the wait staff were all so pleasant and so hard working. Three stood out (I can’t remember their names though and I feel horrible), but there was an older gentleman who was just absolutely wonderful, and a young gentleman and lady. The latter 2, the following morning happened to see my hubby’s eye completely swollen (some sort of allergic reaction), and they couldn’t do enough, from asking if we needed medication to providing him with a bag of ice to help the swelling. We returned after almost 2 weeks prior to our departure and they remembered, asking how his eye was! The food was delicious. The menus for breakfast and dinner are the same, but I’m sure if you’re there a few days and you want a change you could always switch it up and go to the Bistro Cafe. We didn’t go but we heard other guests talking about how amazing the food was there as well. Onsite, we did the coffee tour…again not coffee drinkers but really enjoyed the tour! We also visited the Shanga store on site which was really an amazing place to shop for things. All in all, we absolutely loved our 2 nights at Arusha Coffee Lodge, so much so that next year, when we return to Tanzania, we reshuffled our itinerary so we can have at least 1 night here. Asante sana to all the staff who work so hard to make everything so seamless for us. Can’t wait to return next year!
