We stayed at the Arusha Coffee Lodge for one evening before we headed out for our safari. The property is beautiful, and we stayed in one of the well-appointed "cabins." After arrival and check in, we changed and sat in the main area for drinks. We ended up transitioning right into dinner from drinks. I wish I could recall the name of our server, but he was GREAT, and managed our table as well as a few others (he was working on Monday evening, Feb 19, 2024). The food was quite good and presented a variety of options including pizza, "bar food," curries, etc. The four of us had a tasting of all of the above, and were very pleased.

Though our stay at the coffee lodge was short, it was exactly what we needed after 20+ hours of travel. The staff, even late at night when we arrived, were welcoming and gracious. They made sure the kitchen was open for an extremely late (and delicious!) dinner, and we did not feel rushed or like we were a burden given how friendly everyone was! Besides the amazing dinner and breakfast we enjoyed, the highlight of our short stay was the Shanga Shop. The shop is a can’t miss for anyone staying at the Coffee Lodge. We were given a quick tour and were blown away by the beautiful items being curated from recycled material, in particular glass bottles. The mission of Shanga was heartwarming as they provide jobs to those with disabilities. The staff was extremely friendly, and took their time explaining each of the workstations, and even let us create our own bracelets and help weave a blanket! They were also very helpful in the gift shop where we couldn’t get enough of the beautiful glass pieces! Whether you are looking for a place to rest your head after a long day of travel, returning to Arusha after safari, or just passing through, the Coffee Lodge is the perfect place to unwind!

A great location to stay while in Arusha. The lodge is part of an coffee plantation with great grounds for exploring. Our room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. Everyone working here was very friendly and the overall service was exceptional. We took time to do the coffee tour, which was very interesting. Overall, a very relaxing and enjoyable place to stay. We had one issue when we left as our driver did not show up when we were told he would show up (the problem was with our tour company, not the coffee lodge). We were not able to contact our tour company so asked the Coffee Lodge to help. They immediately were able to get through to our tour company and resolve the issue. The people at the lodge were concerned that we would have a poor impression of the lodge and it was exactly the opposite. We were very grateful for their help in resolving the issue. We highly recommend this lodge for anyone staying in Arusha.

Beautiful room, really nice food, we got a bottle of sparkling wine for our honeymoon. We had some problems with the airplane so we arrived at 11pm but we still got a meal that was so good. Only negative point is that everyone who works in this lodge waited for a tip. We like giving tips, but in this lodge it was to obvious and when we returned for a lunch the last day they weren't so friendly.

To pay the amount of money that we did we expect to have 1. Air conditioning in the rooms 2. 24 hour room service 3. Television The Lodge seems old and the wooden floors creak and are very slippery! The prices that the lodge charges is excessive and for that price we can get a top 5 star hotel in Europe or the UAE where the amenities are more. Melia hotel charges less but the amenities are on par with other 5 star properties. I expected more especially since your group are part of Minor Hotels and Resorts!! We had breakfast and dinner at the lodge both of which are below par. We do not normally write reviews but for the price paid and what we received it just does not match up. I will not recommend this property

I don’t know if it’s true of Tanzania in general, because we only arrived today, but the staff, without exception are the friendliest ever! We were greeted with a soothing cold flannel and an ice coffee. Reception was a breeze - friendly introduction, no passports and no credit card required. Taken to our room by two guys carrying the luggage. One of them stayed and explained (in some detail) the workings of the room. We were then left in a beautiful palatial suite complete with log burner. Lunch and dinner were served in the open by charming and very efficient wait staff. Everyone smiled and wished us ‘welcome’. Food was beautifully prepared and delicious. There were only two minor issues… though the rooms are stylishly designed, they are quite dark and there isn’t a bright light to be found. Also sinks without plugs, however stylish do not make certain tasks easy. Gorgeous setting amongst the coffee bushes makes for a very relaxing stay.

A short stay but a good one! Coffee plantation bliss felt so relaxing and set the tone for a wonderful safari start. A must to do is the coffee tour very interesting and informative. Shanga is such a great initiave employing only people with handicapp needs. Rooms are nice but no a/c and water pressure low in room. Buffet lunch below average.
