My boyfriend and I just completed a Tanzania trip where we stayed at the Four points one day prior to and two days after our safari. The property itself is beautiful; a lush garden, nice gym overlooking the pool and ample seating in the lobby and restaurant area. I’d say this is the only hotel of its class in the area.

I booked both of my stays with points( good point to dollar value IMO) and as a platinum member we were automatically upgraded to a suite on our first night, it was simple but spacious. However, on the second stay we were not upgraded despite a nearly desolate hotel. I noticed that they also do not utilize any of the additional wings of the hotel besides those directly near the lobby- a shame as I imagine the gardens would be a slightly better view. In addition to no upgrade given, there is no lounge, no happy hour and breakfast was not included because I booked with points; in my past experiences breakfast has been included regardless but that may have just been good fortune on my behalf. I would say that the lack of perks are my only negatives about the experience.

Some other things to note:

The hotel allowed us to store an extra bag while on safari ( filled with our post safari Zanzibar attire) which was nice.

The breakfast is a set rate regardless if you just have a small peck or a full meal (20$ USD). On our last day we adventured to “Africafe” just half a block outside the hotel and it was so lovely if you are looking to change things up. However, be warned that this isn’t so much a lovely walkable place, people will try and see you things the second you leave the hotel, as they do most other places in the region.

Everyone was welcoming and helpful , facilities were good with small outdoor pool very welcome after our trips.. our luggage was stored safely whilst we were away on safari .
The breakfast was copious with excellent coffee, the choice for evening in the restaurant was good and we really enjoyed the local dishes on offer.

I stayed here for 3 nights during my recent trip to Tanzania/Arusha. I initially only booked 1 night here, but everyone in the Staff was so welcoming, and the accommodations were so nice that I decided to extend my stay for another night, and even came back here after a Safari trip. The hotel even held my bags, and locked up my valuables (including my passport & wallet) while I went on a 4-day safari. They were meticulous to mark down all the details of what was being stored and made sure everything was still there when I returned, which it of course was.

The staff, including the security guard, were always there to answer any questions I had, included providing recommendations on places to eat or where I could go to buy certain items. One thing I spent several days looking for was contact lens solution and I was only able to find a pharmacy that carried it after talking to the front desk receptionist who recommended a spot nearby to the hotel.

The suite I stayed in was beautiful and even had a patio that was great to relax on and look out into the town. The garden outside by the restaurant was another great, relaxing area to look out onto while enjoying a meal or drink.

Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Arusha for both the great accommodations and wonderful staff!

Had a 2 night stay before a safari and we have now returned for another 6 night stay before we go on another safari. We have been travelling internationally since August 2021 and will say that the staff here are some of the most helpful and friendly that we have experienced. From the drivers to the front desk to the restaurant and cleaning staff they all exhibit excellence in hospitality – something that is a challenge for many Marriott properties domestically imho. The hotel will store you heavy hard sided luggage no charge while you lighten your load when you leave on safari. Very good breakfast buffet and dinner buffet (plus ala carte) – try the homemade chicken noodle soup. Nice historic bar with happy hours on Thursday – Saturday. Nice looking pool and gym –(have not used yet) in a beautiful manicured grounds. Great use of Marriott points.

We had initially hesitated to book here…so glad we did! This is definitely the nicest Sheraton we’ve been to. I think Marriott may have this hotel categorized incorrectly in terms of property type. It is more like a really nice Marriott. It was built in 1894, has a historic feel…and we learned that an old John Wayne movie was shot here (“Hatari”). We just stayed here one night before heading to Serengeti Natl Park and Ngorongoro Crater. It was great. The gym was excellent – even thought it was small, it has what you want - free weights, bench, barbell, smith machine, other weight machines, treadmills. And the gym was in a cool setting – glass walls with trees around – see photo. We splurged on the buffet for dinner – glad we did – very tasty.

We stay at the hotel for 1 day afetr coming back from Zanzibar for a flight home. The restuarant is great if one want to try out local food without too much risk. The Maasai Cultural Market is near by and very conveniently locate near the clock tower (town center). The room was good and the bed is comfy. All in all a great place to stay in Arusha.

We stayed two nights at this hotel. The grounds of this hotel are very beautiful and well kept. The hotel security is almost over the top. Mirrors under the car before you enter, Metal detectors at the front door. I am obviously not that important. I did not run in to this anywhere else in Tanzania. The hotel staff was very helpful and special recognition to the gals at the front desk who figured out how to print my sons covid test out. The restaurant food was good. The room was modern and very nice. The one thing that was disappointing was the bar was permanently closed. I chose this hotel because of the bar. The hotel had been used in 1962 in the filming of a John Wayne movie Hatari. I had been told that the bar still had old pictures from when the movie was filmed. I did end up talking our waiter one night in opening it up so I could see it. I really figured the bar would have been open for this level of hotel.

Our family of 8 stayed here one night when we arrived in Arusha before going on safari and it was perfect for that purpose.

The location is very central (next to the clock tower in Arusha) and can walk to many places.

There is a metal detector and security before going into the lobby and we felt safe there without any issues.

The rooms were very comfortable but be aware that the maximum occupancy is 2 per room so even though there are two double beds in many rooms, it still only fit 2 people (so if you are a family of our - plan to get two rooms). The rooms facing to the street do get a little noisy but didn't bother us.

Buffet (we tried both breakfast and dinner) were excellent and thought they were very good value.

There is a pool and small gym (which we didn't use) and quality of this is much better than your typical Four Points you would find in the United States. Can easily recommend this for a short term stay.

We ended our honeymoon at the Four Points by Sheraton in Arusha. The room was very clean and westernized with plugs in the wall that you could use western electronics with. The bed was also pretty comfortable.

Our housekeeper was amazing; always very friendly and professional.

The grounds were also kept very clean including around the pool!

The food was average, but you could always find something to eat.

They had a little coffee bar/bakery in the front lobby, which was extremely delicious! We tried several coffees and cakes!

We had a large group with 9 rooms and some of the rooms were very nice with both a shower and bathtub and some rooms had a balcony overlooking the swimming pool. If your room didn't have a balcony it was larger. The other rooms that faced the other direction were dingy and the shower leaked all over the bathroom floor, causing floorboards to buckle. Also the rooms facing the city side were noisy with call to prayer and school children playing in the morning.

The restaurant food was very good and lots of options. The staff were very attentive and had a birthday cake and song upon arrival for one of our couples. Great pizza oven and outdoor seating was fun to hang out.

Swimming pool was too cold to swim, workout gym was nice with plenty of options. Beautiful gardens and trees.

It was a lengthy walk from the front desk to the rooms and I didn't see any elevators.
