We decided to leave Tulia after one night. It is called Tulia Boutique Hotel and Spa, but there is not a lot of Boutique and Spa, which is misleading. Our complaints: noisy by night, unfriendly staff at reception, food is okay but not really great, but most of all: the atmosphere is not great for relaxing. The pool faces an ugly wall, there is old furnature in the rooms, moist doesn’t leave the room easily (which makes it stuffy), and the airco didn’t work. Our conclusion: there are so many better places to stay in the neighbourhood or outside Arusha.
I stayed one night during my arrival heading to Safaris. Good location, wonderful swimming pool, good room without view. Had to call the receptionist to fix the TV. Fine breakfast and friendly staff. Car parking available as well as Spa. The receptionist Mohammad helped me charging my mobile with a big smile. Savannah is an indoor restaurant where I had my Margarita pizza and bitter lemon soft drink. Comfortable stay. Thank you
The Tulia has a great location off the main highway that connects Kilimanjaro International Airport with Arusha's many services, safari companies and sift access to the African Art Center and the Arusha airport. The hotel is clean, quiet and small enough to offer personalized service. We found staff to be very helpful, professional and friendly. Breakfast buffet is excellent and varied. As a couple of seniors, we felt very safe not only in the hotel but also when exploring the neighborhood. It's a vibrant local community that we enjoyed. In fact my only suggestion for improvement is that the hotel should offer a cultural walking tour, especially including the public school that is right up the hill from the hotel. I bet tourists would love some help with local shopping, as well, because this is outside the touristy T-shirt and questionable crafts area. There's even a university a few blocks away.…
Reading past reviews we had been put off staying, but we are very glad we did. One can only conclude this made our stay better value ! The only negatives we had were the area beyond the hotel is pretty hectic but the place is well secured and you are not aware at all once inside the gardens. Most people are in a vehicle when arriving so it's not a thing. The second issue we had was only the second time we stayed as a bed spring was faulty , as we knew there was a very comfortable bed in another room they moved us quickly and were apologetic. Negatives over. The staff could not do more. The breakfast was well organized and lots of choice. The evening meal was beyond expectation and worth having. We had the curry and aubergine spaghetti . Our waiter was helpful as we bought a bottle of wine which he kept in the fridge for us for the next day. The bottled wine was nicer than by the glass. It would be good if they did both by the glass at different prices. The rooms are lovely and large, very clean and hot water for showers is good. They very kindly helped us in reception with printing our flight tickets which was a bonus. The staff work hard at cleaning the marble floors etc. Pool was a nice touch but a bit cool so you could not stay in long. Taxi prices a bit high from reception for local airport but Kilamanjaro a bit more in the ballpark.…
Amongst the worst food I have ever tasted in the restaurant, and it wasn’t what was on the menu. The staff was incompetent, indifferent, slow to respond to requests and to clear tables in the pool area. The entire hotel had a cheap vibe and resembled that of a low budget porno.
This hotel offers very friendly and professional staff, rooms are nice and spacious, breakfast is very tasty and varied, there is a private parking, pool, small local shops are almost next door and there is a bank close by, great place to stay!
A beautiful and safe hotel in the near by a center of Arusha city. They meet us at entry and helped our suitcase. We are able to check and get settle to our rooms The breakfast was very good served with hot water and milk on hot thermos, omelette and variety of fruits
helpful to be close to the safari head office where we would start from the next day. the staff are incredibly nice (served us chips with guacamole even though it was already past the restaurant's closing time) Rooms are clean and nice. Only thing was the hot water took ages to take off but otherwise great.
Once again, our hand is down for the Tulia boutique hotel & Spa in Arusha. Tulia is spectacular with combination of great location of city center and relaxed environment to enable you to experience both Arusha city and its people. I do ask them numerous question prior booing to arrival Emmanul Sixbert always quickly to answer, the most comforting to us when we to book to the hand selected hotels. Till we arrived on the hotel they kindness continue with carrying our suitcase a serve a nice fresh watermelon juice. The reception is open 24 hours to wait the victors with promptly check in procedures The receptions Eliza is incredible and helpful and waiter was super nice! Our client Shawn and his family with us stay here after climb Kilimanjaro which combined with 5 days safari in Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Serengeti as they have morning flight, we decided to stay in Arusha to save driving time to meet them for final transfer to Kilimanjaro airport which is about and hour from the Tulia. The hotel is not crowded and well not blaring at the pool. The restaurant is very simple and comfort with healthy food at reasonable price. We had amazing time, the made us we have everything we need, very good service…. we will book it again with heartbeat . Thanks for wonderful stay…
The rooms were somewhat basic but clean and the bed was quite comfortable and good shower. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room behind the reception can be quite noisy but stayed in another room our second night which was much quieter. The food was very good. Didn’t venture out beyond the hotel so can’t comment on the surroundings.
