My stay was supper around meru house the room is extremely good with private bath with heater shawer. Breakfast was really nicely and dinner as well high recommendation for all friendly stuff and waitress 😎😎
Good location only 10min walking from the station. The rooms are basic and simple. They have hot water that works sometimes. Wifi is not working all the time. The breakfast consists in omelete and bread.
If you want a cheap "ok" option, Meru House Inn would be a decent choice. It's not exactly nice (aesthetically pleasing), but it does the job. The staff was super nice. Breakfast was typical of hotels in the area. The room was alright, it wasn't a bright, vibrant place. I didn't have a problem with noise. Location: close to Shoppers supermarket. Can easily walk there. All in all, for the same price, I'd stay there again. I would recommend it to someone looking for a decent budget option. I wouldn't recommend it to someone who wanted a NICE (looking) place.
Hotel looks like a student apartment and definitely not for the faint hearted. Good location with all the essentials at a great price. A bed, tv, a reasonable bathroom and a very nice breakfast, and a small bar/food shop. Recommended to backpackers.
We were shocked when we found out there are two different menus for foreigners and tanzanian people. We know it is kind of common to have different prices for tourists but having two different prices (which were partly double the costs) in a hotel "restaurant" was new to us. But the value for the money is okay, rooms are clean and the employees are friendly.
We spent there one night after safari so it was like a castle 😊 But to be honest – the room was decent, clean and the bed was comfortable and the water was hot :). I did not have a chance to see neighborhood so I cannot tell anything about it. What I can say that in the hotel there is a restaurant with delicious food for a really good price, it was ma only meal in continental Tanzania, but to compare with Zanzibar prices – whole meal cost more or less the same as one dish on Zanzibar. Additionally, staff is very friendly and helpful. Grate option for a night before or after the safari.
Our stay at Meru Inn was perfect! They picked us up from the bus station (for free) and dropped us off there at the end of our stay as well. The food was good, the room was clean and the staff outstanding caring and friendly. We booked our 2 day trip to lake Natron with their company and had an amazing time, as well as a well organised tour. Thank you guys!
Meru House Inn is a very nice Guest House. It has lots of rooms (very affordable: 25000 for a double room without breakfast, 35000 for a double inklusive breakfast). The beds are big, mosquito nets are big enough and without holes, bathroom with hot shower and very clean. Restaurant and laundry service available. All in all very recommendable. We would definitely come again.
The inn is close to the city centre, but that is its only good point. The rooms we had were basic and in dere need of refurbishing. We slept for two nights, but asked for a different room, as the first one had a plumbing pipe going straight through the room and the noise was discomforting whenever somebody flushed the toilet. Well, in the second one the noise from the street was quite nasty, so not mucg difference. No AC, not even fans, but we had TV in the second room (maybe also in the first one, but I don't remember). The price was ok for what they were offering. The wi-fi they were advertising was going on in waves, as usual in Tanzania, and only close to the router.
My boyfriend and I stayed at Meru House Inn in December 2017. We showed up very late after the long bus ride from Dar. Getting off the bus we met Emanuel. He brought us to the hotel, gave us the best price, and organized an amazing Safari experience for us for the next morning. Emanuel took us to local places to eat and made sure we were comfortable and well looked after. The room was basic, but had everything needed to spend a few nights. The shower was nice and consistantly hot which was a pleasant change from other places we'd been at. The bed was comfy and the room was a good temperature for sleeping. We had a very nice stay at Meru House Inn and I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a nice/functional room for a very good price as well as lovely staff, filling breakfast, and last minute safaris!…
