Enjoy your stay in Arusha!
I stayed at the Raha Leo Inn both before and after my safari. The staff was really welcoming & accommodating - they stored my bags during my 3-day safari, gave me recommendations for dinner, and let me stay past check-out time since I had a late flight. The rooms were clean and had everything I needed during my stay. Would recommend Raha Leo to anyone visiting Arusha, it was centrally located, had friendly staff, and included breakfast!
The manager on the place is really nice and helpful, good and safe place to save your things while tracking Go with us with all our ideas in the hostel like screening a movie in the main sitting area, very recommended.
We spent in this hotel two nights - before and after safari. Hotel seems to be new and well-kept. There is common area where you can read books and order sth to drink. When we've been there the hotel has been free from other tourists (probably because of Covid19 restrictions in Europe, North Ameica etc) so it has been very quiet and peaceful. A receptionist has been smailing all the time and very helpfull. Rooms are small but cozy and clean. In the mornig you can hear loud sounds from the church it might be annoing for light sleepers.
Spent 3 nights at Raha Leo either side of a safari we did. It is a clean safe lodge with lovely and welcoming staff who are keen to help in whatever way they can. The guy on reception is very sweet and speaks good English. They are very aware of keeping guests safe and call you a local taxi if required. One day we ended up staying out quite late the owner was concerned that we were ok (but we were out with a local guide). NB if getting a taxi to either Arusha or Kilimanjaro airports ask them for their recommendation - the taxi we got to Kilimanjaro Airport cost us US$30 vs the US$80-100 we were quoted by others. They also kept some luggage for us while on safari. Rooms are small and bathrooms a bit squishy (especially if you are tall) - they have mosquito nets but no fans or air conditioning. Hot water showers. Great wifi. Simple breakfast included. Overall fantastic value for money and highly recommended if you’re looking for a safe budget option. Only watch out if you are a light sleeper - bring earplugs - the cockerels start crowing around 3.30/4.00am, and while it is on a street with not much traffic you can hear loud motorcycles and cars start to go past quite early. And a church nearby started playing loud music each morning at 6am.…
This unique lodge is safe & clean in the city centre for budget travellers. I stayed here for two days after my serengeti trip. It provides hot shower and free breakfast for just US$ 20. Check out is 24 hours, staff professional. Dinner is US $ 10, which I did not take. Every thing in Arusha is within the walking distance around, you don't need taxi, if you enjoy walking. Its owned by a muslim family, so they don't promote drinking alcohal & bringing in a women. Infact, its recommended for solo female travellers on low budget.
This place is clean, includes breakfast, and has the nicest staff. WiFi, hot water, and great location. Pay cash or with credit card for $2 more. Jeremiah walked me and another guest to a popular dinner spot so as to protect us from getting lost or harassed. After a few days away, I returned to Raha (they stored half my belongings for free and totally trustworthy). Jeremiah immediately welcomed me with a complimentary cup of mango juice. Dinner at the over rated tpuirist trap, Khan's bbq is a waste of time and $. Dinner at Raha is delicious, generous, and only $6. Don't hesitate, if you're staying in Arusha and you're on a budget but don't want to slum it, this is your spot. Enjoy and Karibu Sana.
Genuinely friendly and helpful hotel manager. Hotel manager / receptionist found us a ride in the middle of the night when our taxi to the airport didn't turn up. Rooms are clean. Warm showers. Great atmosphere to meet other travellers. Good food. Central.
We stayed here for one night in between our safari and Mt. Meru climb. Super friendly staff and very clean facilities. Dinner was very good value for money, as well as breakfast. Even though it might not look like it from the outside, it was super quiet once you entered. We could also store our bags safely in the hotel during our climb and were provided with a room to shower once we returned and before heading to the airport. If you are looking for a budget place to stay in Arusha, I would for sure check this place out!
Myself and friends stayed here on three separate nights whilst travelling in Tanzania. Its a good budget hotel, perfect for overnight stays. The three rooms I stayed in were clean, en suite with hot water to shower. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, breakfast is good and they will provide an evening meal if you need one you just need to ask, no need to book. The hotel is local to centre and plenty of shops around it if you need to buy anything. For the price its a great place to stay
We stayed here in total for three nights during our trip to Tanzania. It is a clean cheap option if you are using it for overnight stays before moving on.The staff are welcoming and the rooms are clean with en-suite bathroom with plenty of hot water. They will do an evening meal on request and it was very good for the price. The breakfast which is included in the price (20 dollars for a double room)was also good. They have a fridge with cold drinks for sale but no beer.Ten/fifteen minute walk to clock tower and there is shops near if you need anything.
