Very nice hotel. Great staff. (Mr. Goodluck) and (Driver James). Nice rooms. Beautiful property. Just 15 minutes from the center of Arusha town, this hotel is like a secret garden. The property has huge old trees that look 1,000 years old and have trunks the size of cars. The rooms are huge and comfortable. It's like a guest lodge in the 1800's only modern ... wood , beams , wall paper , bricks , flags , sofas , chairs, gardens and club house vibe take you back to an old stately safari lodge. Brandy shots cigars and lead crystal decanters with bow ties and white linen suits. YES !

We didn't get to stay very long at Arusha Serena as we only had 1 night here and we didn't arrive until after 1AM. Yes, the property is lovely, but what really stood out for me was the fact that staff waited until we arrived, were very welcoming, and guaranteed us a hot, cooked dinner (dinner in Arusha was part of our package, but still). I feel bad that the kitchen staff had to wait, but my spouse and I were so grateful after 20 hours on an airplane and nearly 3 hours waiting to be processed at Kilimanjaro airport. Even though we went to bed very late, we still woke up at 6AM because I wanted to see the beautiful property. I'm glad I did! Very lovely flowers and landscaping. Wish we could have stayed longer.

We stayed at this lodge for one night as part of a Lion World Safari. "Wow" is all I can say. Our group of 4 were exhausted after the long flight and this relaxing, peaceful setting was the perfect location to reset before heading to the national parks for our safari. The bar staff and wait staff were attentive. The food was surprisingly wonderful. I say that because I really didn't know what to expect in Africa, but believe me, it was tasty. At breakfast a band of monkeys came for a visit and tried to steal some of our food. It was entertaining to us--the staff? I'm not so sure. Every staff member wanted only our happiness. They bent over backwards to make sure we had everything we wanted or needed. Even with covid, this lodge staff was professional and cautious--all wearing masks. I felt safe and comfortable here. The attention to detail throughout the property is wonderful. The grounds are lovely with a variety of floral and fauna. The bird song in the morning is something that should not be missed. I would visit again in a heartbeat.

The main building which house the restaurant and public lounges is an old Colonial plantation mansion, furnished in period style. The rooms are chalets in the grounds, built with African rondavel style and comfortable furnishings. The grounds are well laid out, but there is no swimming pool.
