After months in Tanzania this was my last stop before heading home. What a relief. AC that worked. Very clean. Polite staff and the Very Best Food I'd had the whole trip. Freshly made each day, I was in absolute heaven. Please don't lose this guy. He is amazing. Thanks so much for putting up with me. Becca
We stayed here for 2 nights. Nice and cozy rooms with clean rooms. The staff was very friendly! The host helped us arrange the safari at a reasonable price. Some safari agencies quoted us much much higher. The services were great and beyond our expectations. Thank you again Korona team We highly recommend Korona House.
Excellent - Clean, healthy breakfast every morning, and dinner was delicious too. Very quiet and well-kept property. The staff was attentive and helpful the entire time. I highly recommend Korona House
Since being in Tanzania, we’ve come to Korona 3-4 times. The staff are so sweet and treat us like family. There’s hot water, consistent electricity + WiFi, comfortable beds, a beautiful balcony overlooking a courtyard— what else can you ask for? You can easily take a dala dala into city center. Couldn’t recommend it more. Do yourself a favor and come!
The staff are the most amazing, friendly people you will meet in Tanzania! They have great recommendations on what to do in Arusha and the food and facilities are amazing. My friends and I returned four separate times while living in Tanzania for 4 months. I couldn’t recommend this place enough!
I stayed in Korona house for almost a week with my adult daughter in February both before and after a safari along the northers circuit. Korona house (and the adjacent property Korona Villa) are two large villas with about half a dozen guest rooms each, located in the outskirts of Arusha. The room interior is simply, but tastefully furnished in African style, the filling buffet breakfast (omlet to order, pancakes, peanut butter, honey, fruit, toast) is in an adjacent building or under a canopy roof in the courtyard. Everything is perfectly clean and in good working order (showers, hot water, etc..). The staff is exceptionally helpful and kind, we spend almost a week at the place and after a day or two we felt more like family than paying guests. Korona house has more the charm and feel of a homestay than a hotel. The only (slight) downside is the distance from the city centre, which requires transport of some kind. We used the public transport (dala dala), which passes right in front of the house. Once you get the hang of these minibuses (and are not afraid of sharing it with up to 15 or 20 other riders), the distance is not a problem (there is a bus every few minutes, they will stop right in front of you if you wave your hand). The Hotel serves food in the evening a la carte which is good, but we found it not quite as exceptional as some of the other reviewers have written; maybe the kitchen was a bit limited because we were the only guests most of the time (certainly Covid related). Overall I would highly recommend Korona House, in particular if one is looking more for a charming and homely stay rather than a more standard hotel experience with lots of features but little soul.…
Fantastic staff the place was as expected oh and the staff again amazing! I recommend it 100%. Very relaxing environment in an uptown area of Arusha with delivery options nearby and also easy access to public transport and Taxi. I was on self drive and the parking was more than adequate.
I want to give accolades to this somewhat hidden lodging gem. I am a female solo traveler, and from my arrival until my departure, I felt pampered and safe. This small but efficient establishment is well organized with: --A Host/Manager; --Vehicle drivers for guests; --A Chef (he made me feel as though he was my personal chef); --and Lodging Caretakers. Korona House Bed and Breakfast is located within a quiet local community behind a gate. Transportation from both airports ( Arusha & Kilimanjaro) is provided free of charge. My plane was delayed at the last minute; which made my arrival to the airport over 1 hour late. I was concerned that my transportation to the lodge would no longer be there. Hakuna Matata (no worries). The Korona House driver (Makena) was still there waiting for me with my name on a placard and a broad smile. The manager (Charles) told me it is their policy to wait, no matter how long, until the guest arrives or advises otherwise. The Guest Room was small, yet cozy. African Tapestries and Wall Art decorate every room in the house. Refrigerators are not provided within the rooms, however, the staff stored my items requiring refrigeration upon my request. Lighting within the room and ensuite bathroom was a little dim, however, there was a portable lamp in the room that I used to give more light in the bathroom when putting on makeup and such. Water pressure was good, and the shower water temperature was warm -to- hot. The weather in Arusha at night was cooler than I anticipated, but I was warm enough because the bedding also included a blanket. I like the fact that the Korona House anticipates guest's needs. I had arrived with my laptop computer, mosquito bug-spray, clothing hangers...ect...but all for naught because Korona House had already supplied all of these items and more: Two (2) desktop computers for guest usage were located on the 2nd floor where the guest rooms are. Other convenience items that may not be readily thought of; such as cotton swabs, room freshener, portable night lamp, toilet paper dispenser that holds 3 extra rolls, flying insect spray, and plenty of wooden clothing hangars, were also at my disposal. The room did not have a wardrobe or armoire, but there is an metal rack for hanging clothing. Bottled Water and a Tea/Coffee Kettle is supplied, along with a large assortment of coffee and teas. Transportation into town, or where ever you want to go, can be arranged. Arusha Town is about a 15-20 minute drive away. I paid 15,000 TSH each way; to-and from-town. I was only able to receive (2) television channels. Fortunately for me one of them was English speaking; Al Jazeera. Television is not important, but I was at the Korona House for a few days and wanted to catch up on world news. I saved the best for last: Meals are a treat at the Korona House. The dining room has several hard wood dining tables and chairs with lovely table settings and home made decorations. Breakfast is included in the room cost and consists of a continental style breakfast with fresh squeezed juice and fruit; pancakes, toast, chapati (flat bread), milk; along with made- to- order omelettes/eggs. The candle-lit ambience, and wait-staff attention at dinner time, rivals a Four (4) Star Restaurant. I was seated and served like A VIP every evening. The food was plentiful, very tasty, and a visual delight as well. Kudos to the chef. The menu items were a mixture of Local, Western, and Indian Cuisines. The price for lunch or dinner is $10 USD each. The only dining menu available for guests to peruse is located at the managers desk. Guests can look at it and then give their food order to the chef. Perhaps putting a copy of the menu inside each guest room would be beneficial and more time efficient for meal ordering. * The manager said this was a good suggestion and he would look into this change. The manager and all the staff are knowledgeable about the community and tourist sight-seeing attractions. They can assist in making arrangements for your adventure. Charles and his team are very warm and welcoming. When I am back in Arusha I will return to Korona House because of its hospitality, management, and ambience. Asante Sana; Charles and Team…
Given the state of the COVID pandemic, Korona House staff did everything in their power to make our stay comfortable. Safety measures were of high priority and the rooms were everything we had hoped for and more. Apart from an instance of losing 100% access to running water for the shower and the toilet, it was a perfect stay for the week and a half we were there.
We just checked out from Korona house. We have no words to thank the host and Korona house staff for amazing stay from the momemt we arrived to left. Rooms were very cleand, shower amazing with hot water, beautiful balcony with view, very fresh air night time. Washroom equipped with all small details needed. Bed was very comfortable and breakfast...omg, fleshly squeezed mango joice fresh fruit, eggs brad pancakes, coffee everthing fresh. Service amazing, they would do step forward to give you all you need. I would highly recommend Korona House. Plus amazing neighborhood and location.
