The warm welcome in this simple but very pleasant guest house was very pleasant. The small tropical garden was a delight. The food was excellent. Here we ate the finest hot pancakes and enjoyed the sweetest pineapples. Christina and her people were very friendly and helpful. If there is a next time, it will be Christina House in Arusha again.

A nice stopover in Arusha. Unexpected location on a busy road. Very clean rooms, Christina goes out of her way to welcome you and her typically Tanzanian cuisine is excellent. Combine a visit to the coffee trees as well as live roasting. The only downside is the noise from the road, especially in the directly exposed rooms. Very affordable.

Christina has gone to great lengths to make a guest feel at home. The food was well prepared with a lot of locally sourced items and accommodations were simple and clean. The location is easy to get to from JRO and downtown Arusha

I've stayed at Christina House Arusha several times now, and it’s truly become a favorite of mine. This place has such a special charm, it's tucked away just outside the city, so you get a peaceful retreat from the noise, yet it’s close enough that you can easily pop into town whenever you need to.

What I love about Christina House is the ambiance. It’s like a cozy haven that makes you feel right at home. The facilities are excellent, and the overall vibe is both relaxing and welcoming. Mornings here are something else...you might wake up to the stunning sight of Mount Meru, and the chirping of a variety of birds adds a touch of natural beauty that’s hard to beat.

Even though my most recent visit was for business, I couldn’t help but think how perfect this place would be for tourists as well. It’s an ideal spot to unwind after a day of exploring Arusha. Plus, I never had any concerns about safety during my stay, which is always a relief.

If you’re heading to Arusha, I wholeheartedly recommend Christina House. It’s a wonderful blend of comfort, tranquility, and convenience. Whether you’re here for work or for pleasure, it’s a place that makes you feel like you’ve found a little slice of paradise.

I stayed Christina’s 7 years with a friend on our first trip to the Serengeti and loved it then, so it was a great surprise from our guide to return to this beautiful oasis at the end of a second trip with more friends. The rooms are simple, comfortable and spotless, the food is still fresh and tasty, the gardens are even more lush and Christina and staff are so friendly and welcoming. And it’s so good that they support the local community - thank you Christina and everyone!

Christina House has been my go-to lodging in Arusha for my annual visits for the past six years. I won't stay anywhere else. The combination of value, atmosphere, comfort, and incredible service are what make this place my Arusha home away from home.

This hotel is amazing. It’s very clean, beautiful and the service is first class. This hotel is perfect for couples, family’s and solo travelers. I’m a female solo traveler felt safe and welcomed. I asked Christina for airport pick up, she arranged a great driver who was at the airport when I arrived. She has amazing staff too. A young gentleman who works here helps the guests whenever they need something. They all speak perfect English. This place has a home feeling, it feels as if you are staying a at kind family home.
It’s located near a beautiful village with friendly people, you can walk there to visit a school too. There is a big local market nearby (Wednesdays and Saturdays) which is fantastic and not too touristy. I highly recommend this place and I return whenever I visit Arusha.

Of all the places in Africa that we stayed, this was the only sub-par.
Its located nicely- right off the highway so you get there fast from the airport.
But our troubles started right away- they were asleep when we got there and our driver could not get them to open the place. They did not respond to his calls and cries and it took us 15 min to get in.
Water runs out every night. We had this experience every night and then you have to hunt down the staff at 5 am and then they turn on the pump to fill the tank.
Cockroaches in the bathroom under those floor boards! Early start to the safari.
No wifi even though they advertise it. I think they were not paying their bills for a while, hence there was no wifi.
The rooms were ok, the premises were nice and green. Lots of birds around that kept us entertained trying to photograph them. But overall a very average place and i would not recommend this place. All other places that we stay in Tanzania were a lot better than this place.

Hello Murali . Thank you very much for staying with us and for your review. Unfortunately, it seems that you did not enjoy your stay at that particular time. I , however would like to ensure you (and every other trip advisor user ) that the challenges you faced are now solved. I will try to explain hereby: We normally close the gate for security purposes , and in case of late night check ins , we recommend that guests or guides inform the staff earlier so that the guards are informed and open the gate promptly, once the guests are there. There was water leakage , and our maintenance team was working on it at the time of your stay, and therefore we had to ensure that you ( and the rest of our guests) could have water from at least 5 a.m, however water is normally available 24/7. We do fumigation often , to get rid of disturbing insects like cockroaches, however fumigation may not be easy while we have guest staying at our property. Once again thank you for this review, and we do apologize for such inconveniences.

Christina house is a very beautiful and charming place. Went there to have lunch and what a delicious meal we had: mdori, ugali, pilau, makande to name a few of the dishes. We ate for several hours and rested in between. Christina herself even came and sat down with us to chat which made the whole experience even more special. Super friendly staff, delicious food and a beautiful atmosphere.
She also have a bed and breakfast with large rooms and an amazing view over Mount Meru.

Hi I found the staff at Christina's to be very accomadating. I had a fairly early breakfast which did not seem to be a problem. I would email Christine is advance and ask her if an wearily brewakfast was possible. By the way, the meals were very tasty.

Hello, I did not find Christina's House noisy, based on extensive travel in Africa (East and West), I When I was there with students in June, the road was not finished and so there was heavy equipment around. Finished road should actually produce less noise. Christina House comprises a compound with a high wall and thick vegetation, providing insulation from the street. The accommodations are lovely and the owner and staff are warm and engaging. For many of my students, the stay at Christina House was the highlight of their 3 weeks in East Africa. And the food is fabulous.
