Wow, this is a really nice place to visit. Went here to eat some traditional Tanzanian food and I was amazed. Delicious local food, friendly staff and a peaceful place. The wonderful garden has calming elements that helps to relax. I would go here to de-stress after a busy day. Also got the opportunity to see some of the 20 rooms for future stays. Really nice rooms and good variety of sizes - even some that are suited for large families. Thank you Christina for the wonderful visit - I hope we meet again in the future

Christina House has been my go-to lodging in Arusha for my annual visits for the past six years. I won't stay anywhere else. The combination of value, atmosphere, comfort, and incredible service are what make this place my Arusha home away from home.

Christina house is a very beautiful and charming place. Went there to have lunch and what a delicious meal we had: mdori, ugali, pilau, makande to name a few of the dishes. We ate for several hours and rested in between. Christina herself even came and sat down with us to chat which made the whole experience even more special. Super friendly staff, delicious food and a beautiful atmosphere. She also have a bed and breakfast with large rooms and an amazing view over Mount Meru.

We had a great coffee and market tour. We got to learn a lot about the coffee making process and even enjoy coffee that we helped to roast. The market tour was great as well and we were able to see and try some local produce. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable.

I stayed at this place for 4 nights, I was traveling alone. For real I had my good time here, people working for Christina House are charming, professional, and very compatible. I loved the food, because of its freshness, especially the vegetables. The coffee tour was organized from Christina House, I went with "Josh" as my guide. I always loved to walk around outside, because of the good environment. believe I will see you again Christina House, thank you very much! I enjoyed.

I had an amazing stay at Christina House with Furahini Kivuyo. We had room 7 upstairs with the view of Mt. Meru which was splendid. The room was clean and quiet, staff were very helpful and amazing. The coffee tour was really something. Delicious Tanzanian cuisine. If traveling to Arusha, I recommend this place (Christina House).

Of all the places in Africa that we stayed, this was the only sub-par. Its located nicely- right off the highway so you get there fast from the airport. But our troubles started right away- they were asleep when we got there and our driver could not get them to open the place. They did not respond to his calls and cries and it took us 15 min to get in. Water runs out every night. We had this experience every night and then you have to hunt down the staff at 5 am and then they turn on the pump to fill the tank. Cockroaches in the bathroom under those floor boards! Early start to the safari. No wifi even though they advertise it. I think they were not paying their bills for a while, hence there was no wifi. The rooms were ok, the premises were nice and green. Lots of birds around that kept us entertained trying to photograph them. But overall a very average place and i would not recommend this place. All other places that we stay in Tanzania were a lot better than this place.

Response from Christina Kaaya, Owner at Christina House
Responded 1 Nov 2020
Hello Murali . Thank you very much for staying with us and for your review. Unfortunately, it seems that you did not enjoy your stay at that particular time. I , however would like to ensure you (and every other trip advisor user ) that the challenges you faced are now solved. I will try to explain hereby: We normally close the gate for security purposes , and in case of late night check ins , we recommend that guests or guides inform the staff earlier so that the guards are informed and open the gate promptly, once the guests are there. There was water leakage , and our maintenance team was working on it at the time of your stay, and therefore we had to ensure that you ( and the rest of our guests) could have water from at least 5 a.m, however water is normally available 24/7. We do fumigation often , to get rid of disturbing insects like cockroaches, however fumigation may not be easy while we have guest staying at our property. Once again thank you for this review, and we do apologize for such inconveniences.
