Maua was an excellent choice for our group. The rooms were extremely clean and everything was in working condition. It was quiet environment, the staff was extremely friendly, insured we had quality service and that everything was in order.
Its location was ideal for us as we were close to all the local attractions yet nestled in a less busy very green street.
Will definitely visit again! Maua emphasizes on quality and that can be felt!

I am pretty picky about accomodation when I go on holiday.
I like staying at authentic places that give the feel of the country im visiting, as well as the place being clean, and a fair price.

Villa Maua ticked all the boxes and more! The staff were delightful, the food was delicious, and the location quiet and just a few minutes walk from everything: masai market and the city. Best of all for me was the design of the hotel, rooms and lounge: a mix of modern and african.

Highly highly reccomended, would definately come back here and send all my friends here!

We stayed at Villa Maua for 5 days and it was amazing.
Rooms are spacious, very clean and cosy, the beds are comfortable (we slept like babies), sheets are very soft, and the icing on the cake is the luxurious decoration of the hotel (reception, restaurant, loung and of course the rooms).
Food was succulent, the menu has large choices and vegetarian options as well.
Staff is friendly and very helpful.

Thank you so much for this wonderful experience !!

Stayed at Villa Maua in early December for one night before our safari departure from the Arusha airport (about 20 minutes away).
Arrived at Kilimanjaro on a Saturday afternoon after a long journey from the states. The drive from the airport to the hotel took almost 2 hours.
On arrival at hotel, the garden is very pretty, hence the name, and the architecture is lovely. Check-in was easy and we were quickly taken to the room.
Was shocked when I saw the room and its size. The hotel's website pictures make everything appear bigger than actuality. The room was fine, clean, but just basic and the view from the room we had was of a cinder block wall. And even though there was door to the outside, workers used the path to get somewhere. Not a room you would want to hang out in.
The pool area is much smaller than the photograph on their website, area just ok.
They have a couple different public sitting areas, one of which is outside the reception but there are only picnic benches and table to sit at, not too comfortable. There is an inside area but given Covid, not a good place to hang out. My favorite area was a detached building in the driveway area for the bar which had tables with umbrellas, cute.
We had dinner at the hotel which was quite good!
For the price we paid, not worth it. Our tour operator booked us with fully inclusive rate, too high. Do no book fully inclusive, cheaper to order off menu.
If you can get a super cheap rate, I say book it, if not, stay at Arusha Coffee Lodge!

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Maua. It is expensive, but the staff was wonderful and very attentive. Breakfast and dinner were always excellent and they always remembered what we liked for breakfast each morning. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and the hot shower was excellent. The internet was not the best and we couldn't send Facebook messages. This is pretty common in Africa, but was difficult for us because we were trying to contact family that was taking care of our farm back home. Other than the internet, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend.

Hi Sarena, We are delighted to learn that you enjoyed your stay at Villa Maua. Thank you for the lovely compliments to our team, hotel facilities, the comfortable beds and our stellar food. We strive to make your stay with us as memorable as it can be. I will be sure to pass on the compliments to our staff who will be very happy. I am sorry to hear about the internet. It was actually due to a problem across the whole country at the time but normally our internet has great capacity to enable you to browse comfortably, download content, enable you access to social media, and even be able to stream from streaming websites. Thank you once again for the wonderful feedback. It will be a pleasure to welcome you back to our villa.

Villa Maua is a magic oasis in the city center- the perfect combination of city and nature. While you have all of Arusha just outside all you want is to sit and enjoy the lush garden or your spacious room. Huge beds with great mattress and crispy bed linen makes you just want to stay in bed. Breakfast is classy and it's your choice to be served in the garden or dining. Loved to stay at Villa Maua.

This is a quaint little place that makes you feel at home. The manager, Raymond, is so kind and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable, although please know your room may be close to a neighborhood farm and there’s a rooster that crows all night long. Ear plugs took care of the problem, but I don’t think I could have enjoyed my stay without earplugs. Otherwise, a home away from home!

Room Tip: Get a room close to the pool, which is also farther away from the crowing rooster!!

Villa Maua is a very beautiful boutique hotel in the center of the city of Arusha. The staff is very friendly and helpful and made us feel at home. The rooms are very cozy and comfy decorated with a beautiful and subtle local touch.
Trying the restaurant is a must, the beef steak and the swahili assortment are just succulent!
I am definitely coming back.

An excellent choice upon arrival in Tanzania. The staff were genuinely welcoming and took kind care of us after a long flight. The entire villa was very creatively decorated creating a comfortable and nestling-in feeling. The rooms were spacious and beds very comfortable. The food was excellent and again can't say enough about the staffs energy. They truly enjoyed their work. The garden and open space was very inviting as was the lounge area. The villa, as most Arusha lodging is a bit of a drive, but the atmosphere, sense of safety and hospitality made for a wonderful stay.
