If you are looking for a start point for a great Tanzanian Safari, Malkia Trees Lodge will welcome you with open arms. Albert and his staff will take care of your every need, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the Internet works fine, breakfast with eggs to order and small but tasty dinner menu. This small property is located on the edge of Arusha, and not walking distance into the center but Albert will arrange a taxi for you. Great place to overnight or spend a couple of nights while getting ready to head off the Serengeti, Kilimanjaro or the other famous national parks and return to after your adventure. Albert can also arrange a tour of Arusha, a visit to the local game park or any other side trip you might want. Rates are reasonable and credit cards are accepted.

We booked last minute and arrived late at night and they were there to great us, showed us to our room. The staff made everything easy and are super friendly which I love. One guy even gave us his personal number in case we needed anything overnight. I appreciate that! The lodge is nicely set back in the forest and you can have a full breakfast outside in the jungle. We were listening to the rain and birds and it just felt so peaceful. I would recommend you to stay if you are staying in Arusha before/after safari!

Book it! This was an excellent place to stay the night before our safari. The people who we met were incredibly kind and helpful, and they sang a lovely farewell song for us before we left! Food was fantastic!! Gorgeous property hidden in the trees. You won't regret it!

I had a really good experience at the Malkia Tress lodge. The trees surrounding the area gave a sense of tranquility. Comfortable bed, hot water and amazing breakfast. The staff were really cooperative and understanding. I love the wood furnitures around the lodge, really complimented the room.

First impressions, not expecting us at all, admittedly arrival time of approximately 22.00 had been advised on initial reservation only once a few weeks previously. Room large, well equipped, tv, kettle tea and coffee, water, very clean, freshly laundered towels and bedclothes. But there was a lingering smell of smoking, not good. Breakfast was average, again maybe no preparation for their unexpected guests. So egg on toast and a plate of fruit with tea or coffee. Very friendly and helpful but needs to be more professional was my opinion then. A week later after safari we returned for one night. This time they were prepared, a lovely evening meal. Pumpkin soup, delicious. Goat with potatoes for me, with rice for Helen, various vegetables, very nice in-deed. And chocolate pancake to finish, all with a very nice bottle of red wine. The three course meal was booked inclusive with the hotel night, not much extra on the BB price. Wine only $10. Very good food and service. Nice clean room, great service and for a very early flight a breakfast box to leave. A quiet locally run place quite acceptable.
