Kiboko Lodge is part of the Watoto Foundation, founded by former retail director Noud and Truus van Hout from The Netherlands. The foundation works to educate street children in Tanzania since 2003. Watoto Foundation is a vocational training centre. Children who suffer from addiction to drugs, glue and alcohol are given the opportunity to build a new life. The Foundation offers them the chance for an education, which will equip them with the necessary skills to find a job. This is unique in a country where 70% of the population are unemployed. Staying at Kiboko Lodge is possible from $89 per person during high season and $75 per person in low season!
Dear hosts from Kiboko Lodge in Arusha, We were guests at your beautiful lodge in the village of Ngurdoto, at the foot of Mount Meru, for 1 night on 08.02.2024. We had a wonderful time with very nice and attentive hosts. All of your staff were so friendly, helpful and accommodating - this is what a vacation in a beautiful setting should be like. The food was excellent ☺️👍 Best regards Karin & Gottfried Wagner

We had a wonderful stay - 2 nights - in Kiboko Lodge in February 2024. The bungalows are located in a beautiful garden and surrounded by lush nature with many birds, i. e. grosbeak weavers building nests and feeding chicks. The room is spacious and well equipped, from our terrace we could watch the birds and listen to the sounds of nature. The meals were excellent, we enjoyed everything - compliments to the chef! The staff was very friendly and helpful - we felt most welcomed. We would definitely recommend Kiboko Lodge for the first or last nights in Arusha or as basis for a visit in Arusha National Park, which is close to the lodge. Asante sana to Joyce, Frank and all staff members - we loved to be your guests!

Great stay at Kiboko Lodge including doing a couple of the tours (guided walk and meeting the local women coffee workers). The staff (trained by the associated Wototo Foundation for former streetboys)were great and was interesting to learn about their backgrounds and ambitions The birds during the day and the sound of all the frogs at night made this an idyllic place to chill for a few days.

As our first lodge in Tanzania Kiboko Lodge was just what we needed: a quiet, comfortable, beautiful eco-lodge in the beautiful forest. We were greeted on that day with an incredible hibiscus drink. The food was incredible. The staff was great. Everything was clean and comfortable. Highly recommended.

Never have we been anywhere with better hospitality and welcome than at Kiboko Lodge. The whole team could not do enough for you- particular thanks to Joyce, Frank and David. We stayed there over a week relaxing (post summitting Mount Kilimanjaro) and partaking in several of the offered activities- bike ride, village walk, horseback safari, canoeing, coffee tour, Foundation visit. Cannot recommend enough and proceeds go to a fantastic cause helping street children. It would be our pleasure to re-visit in the future. Best wishes, Samantha and Alec Smith Visited- September 2022.

Kiboko Lodge was incredible! Our first day there we took the Walking Safari Japhet, who took us through the nearby farms, forests, school grounds, and town center with wonderful guidance and pace. That evening we ate a delicious three course meal in the candlelit dining room. We toured around the area the next few days, but made sure we arrived back before dusk to watch all the magnificent birds in the marsh come to roost for the evening. Everyone who works at Kiboko Lodge is so kind and considerate. We loved it here!
