We stayed 2 nights before climbing Mount Meru and wish we could have stayed longer. Superb, HUGE, fresh breakfast, such sweet staff (most whom speak perfect English), and a beautiful room with a large porch, comfy bed, and nice shower (plenty of hot water). We loved everything about this place. Be sure to walk around the friendly village. It is only about a mile from the park gate, around 30 minutes or so from JRO airport.

It was our very first accommodation during our Safari trip and spent 2 nights in the lodge. Being used to the accommodations and customer service from Europe, this was really a new experience in the very positive way. We did not know what to expect, but when you arrive, make sure to let the rush and stressed feeling go and dig in deep in the very friendly and “pole pole” (slowly slowly) atmosphere which was really appreciated right from the start. The staff is very friendly and they do their upmost to keep up with the tourism standards. The food was far better than expected and always a lot. The lodge itself is not the most modern one, so do not expect a high class interior. Nevertheless, it is totally fine for the stay. The Lodge is very close to the Arusha National park (maybe 5-10 minutes driving)

We needed a place that was convenient to both the NP and to commerce and were recommended to try here when our first choice was not available. What luck. A truly nice place set in leafy gardens with lots of birds. A pool for those who do such things and private relaxing areas for those less energetic. Close to the Gate into Arusha National Park but on a tar road for ease of access to 'town'. The welcome and safety briefing was friendly and we were quickly shown to our bungalows to settle in after a long drive up, and down, the Usumbaras. Inside the door we found a nice clean sleeping area and a large comfortable bed with the bathroom area behind another internal door. This was fitted with modern clean facilities that provided H&C water etc., The main building contained a cosy lounge for relaxing or working the free Wiffy and a large spacious restaurant with outside seating areas too. The food was some of the best we had enjoyed on our four week trip and the service exceptionally friendly and efficient. We never hurry over meals and this never seemed to be rushed. Food was delicious and well presented. We had three nights here and spent one of them in the nearby National Park which is extremely pretty and full of wildlife. The second day we spent hanging loose at the Lodge enjoying the peace and quiet while our car was 'fixed' of a few minor problems. One evening we were joined by our Booking agent for a few beers which was nice way to prepare for dinner. All in all this place was good place to take a break away from the hustle of Arusha and the 'Safari circuit'. I would love to spend more time here.

The lodge is situated in a wonderful garden with many different plants and birds, the right place to relax and enjoy nature. The staff is absolutely incredibly friendly and totally helpful. We had a puncture and the management fixed it in two hours, a great experience.

Stayed two nights after having self-driven to Lake Manyara and Tarangire. Appreciated how close Meru was to Arusha Park. Grounds were nice, people very friendly, service great, nice and quiet, happy for the private porch, especially when we had to rinse out some undies and socks (they have a string clothes line). The food was the best we'd eaten in Tanzania and Rwanda, so tasty and innovative (I'm still dreaming about the avocado starter and the tomato soup), but at five courses, it was way too much for us. We felt bad for leaving so much behind but we just couldn't eat it all. Wi-fi only available around the restaurant, still would highly recommend the place.

Excellent resort, beautiful rooms and lovely gardens. Amazing Swahili food dinner and superb breakfast. Their own homemade muesli and jams were to die for. Fresh fruit juices. Service especially by Susanne was exceptional. Would highly recommend the place. Great base to start a safari from.

Greeted upon our arrival, even late at night with hot towels and fresh juice. About 38 min from Kili Int. Airport. Beautiful property. Individual bungalow rooms that had hot water, nice shower, slippers comfortable bed and it's own front porch. Breakfast was great with fresh fruit, juice, coffee, tea, yogurt, granola, egg of choice, bread. Friendly staff. Would go again.

We stayed here for three nights. The beds were really comfortable and the room was quite spacious. The owner, Josephine, was very friendly and loaned me an adaptor as I hadn't realised they had 2 pin sockets unlike all the other lodges we stayed at who had three pin ones. The food was superb! In fact there was almost too much and we hated leaving any as it was so delicious and fresh. The staff were lovely. My husband was watching the birds and so Josephine got the groundsman to put the water spray near our room so the birds would come down to it! We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again when we return to Tanzania and I thoroughly recommend Meru View Lodge. It is less than 5 minutes drive from the main gate of Arusha National Park too. Perfect.

We spent a few nights here before our safari. It is a beautiful setting with nice rooms and a very friendly staff. Josephine, the owner, roamed through the dining room frequently to make sure all our needs were met. The food was very good. We took breakfast and dinner every day. Most of the food comes from the organic vegie garden on the lodge grounds. Delicious. At 4:00 every afternoon, complimentary coffe/tea and cake were served on the patio. The lodge is just down the road from Arusha National Park, and the they can arrange a guided tour for you.
