The people, the place, the restaurant were absolutely amazing. Highly worth the stay and not directly on the main road where traffic is sometimes a nightmare and loud. Prices for food was great. Just book your stay here and you will not be disappointed.

We can recommend this hotel for staying one night upon arrival prior to starting a safari or a Kilimanjaro ascent. The breakfast was fine as was the dinner. I found it a bit pricey, but the rooms were nice enough.

It was a good welcoming for our first night in Tanzania. Close to the airport so not too much road to do. Staff is very welcoming, kind and always available for our needs. Had a good dinner with a mix of European and local food

We stayed in the African Tulip hotel prior to our trek up Mount Kilimanjaro, and then post trek/pre-safari, with a stop over on our final day to collect bags/clean-up. The rooms were all very nice, clean, and quite comfortable. The staff are all extremely friendly, helpful, and very accommodating. Meals were terrific, the breakfast buffet was delicious - with an omelet station! They were able to securely store our extra bags of safari gear while we went on a one week Kilimanjaro trek, and then they securely stored all of our trekking gear while we were on Safari. We didn't use the pool, but it looked very nice. The next time I'm in Arusha I'll be back to the African Tulip!!

I enjoyed the property, pool area, bar, room and location of the African Tulip on my recent stay. It was within safe walking distance to one of the best restaurants in Arusha, George's Tavern, and includes an omelette station in the mornings when you're getting ready to take off on your safari or hiking adventure. I planned on staying only the night before my safari and had a different hotel nearby booked for when I returned, but I enjoyed the African Tulip so much that I cancelled the other reservation and stayed here a second night! Great staff and would stay again.

Everytime we visit Tanzania we stay at The African Tulip, it is the perfect place to begin and end another amazing adventure. The hotel is so beautiful it is like a work of art! The rooms are extremely clean, decorated nicely and quiet. The African Tulip chefs are very talented and the food they prepare is fresh, and very delicious!! With all the culinary choices offered, all guests should feel satisfied. Equally important is how kind and attentive the rest of the staff are!! Anyone who chooses to stay here will be grateful they did, we know we are, and we also know we will stay there again on our next visit to the beautiful country of Tanzania!

A boutique hotel with a lot of authentic charm! Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent food ! Lovely gift shop . Wonderful spot to before starting safari and an awesome way to unwind with use of day room before heading home. We enjoyed some lovely appetizers under the pergola by the pool before heading to the airport. Perfect!

Twice we have used the African Tulip as our launching pad for Tanzanian adventures. In 2010 when we visited the game parks, climbed Kilimanjaro, and went to Zanzibar. The second time was August 2022 when we returned with our children and grandchildren to redo the parks. We were eighteen in total ably accommodated by the Tulip in every respect. The grandkids loved the pool. Coming and going we always returned to the Tulip, the quality is unwavering and it feels like home.

Great point location to start your Safari in Tanzania. Good food and nice and clean rooms. We have just stay one night. But we had time to buy a nice souvenir at the hotel shop. Buffet dinner and breakfast was good. There’s no need more for a stopover
