Home away from home. Friendly staff, modern amenities, quick to take in positive critism. Visited twice in August 2022 and March 2023 and I can attest they appreciate keen to quality services. Management is hands on literally. Fresh health meals splash their menu, amazing place to stay whether on business trip or safari

The title says it all. Very charming boutique hotel close to center of Arusha. Unless you need a big swimming pool and gym, way more charming that larger alternatives. Looks like a lodge from Tanzania in the 1930s, updated to modern. Very helpful staff.

We stayed here one night before and one night after our safari tour of Tanzania and were able to rest well both times. The hotel is very neat, well kept, with many great amenities such as quick laundry facility, swimming pool and the lovely Baobab restaurant. Our favourite meals were the Butter Chicken and Avocado Salad. On our return we were offered the larger suite which has two rooms and a living area with the bathtubs being an excellent way to relax and get rid of the Serengeti dust! Thank you to each and every friendly staff member for contributing towards our lovely time here.

Another great stay at the African Tulip. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The hotel has a nice boutique feel. The air conditioning in the rooms and the wi-fi worked great. We knew one morning we'd need to leave before breakfast started. Deep, the food and beverage manager, meet with us to ensure we had to-go boxes for that day and that the boxes included items everyone would enjoy. We also ended-up needing to host a last minute meeting at the hotel. The staff quickly got the conference room ready and a tea service set-up. The hotel is also close to several great restaurants. I would definitely recommend this hotel for business or personal travel.

Nice clean hotel in Arusha, spacious rooms, good bathrooms, excellent service. Staff were very helpful, especially the Food manager. I have a food allergy and when he learned of it (coconut) he closed down part of the kitchen had it and the utensils they were going to use to prepare my food cleaned and prepared one of the best meals I had on my trip. He told me he did not want any cross contamination as they use coconut in many of their dishes. He followed up with me at every meal to assure I was not eating anything he had a concern about. Excellent, excellent, excellent! The Breakfast buffet was good with many fruits, cheeses, and dishes to choose from. Also very good coffee. I do recommend the hibiscus juice. Dinner was also full of good options. Good stable wi-fi. No elevators/lifts so be prepared to climb stairs.

This was my second visit to the African Tulip, staying 2 nights at the beginning of my safari. Once again, a wonderful stay! Comfortable bed, clean, air conditioned room (and it was hot in Arusha this visit,) friendly helpful staff, and a good selection of dishes at the restaurant. Breakfast was buffet, with eggs cooked to order, and dinner option one night was buffet, the other from the menu. They do have multiple menus depending on your meal choice, so be sure to ask so you see all of your options. Special thanks to Mary in the lounge, dining area for her never ending smile and charming service and conversations. I also enjoyed the water dispenser in the room as I tend to drink a lot of water, so I didn't have multiple plastic bottles. Don't forget to visit the gift shop while you are here!

After several days on business in rural Tanzania, I flew into Arusha to meet up with a business group going on safari. My room was modern and clean (even filtered hot/cold water dispensers for in room morning coffee). Took a refreshing swim in the pool and enjoyed a drink at the pool bar. I recommend the grilled pork chops for dinner. Wine selection was adequate. Staff was attentive and asked friendly questions to make sure I was seen. If you come through Arusha, get refreshed here.

Gorgeous hotel! Felt very upscale, staff were wonderful, restaurant was great. The pool is lovely for relaxing, and we enjoyed snacks at the poolside bar. We are a group of three relatives and opted for a triple room, which had three twin beds available, along with a lovely balcony. Incredibly spacious bathroom and shower. The hot and cold water dispenser in the room was especially useful. Would be an especially nice way to unwind in comfort after a long plane ride.

After two days of travel this was the perfect place to relax before our Safari adventures began. The food was excellent and the staff was very attentive and welcoming. The hotel is beautifully decorated and very clean. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. Thank you African Tulip for the perfect start to our journey.
