Had the pleasure to stay at Arusha Giraffe Lodge during our vacation in Tanzania. The manager Mr. Msuya along with Rajabu, Glory and Joice who did everything to help us out. Delicious food, nice roomservice, great location a bit away from the city center with the sounds from the animals and nature. It's easy to grab a daladala (only 500 shilling per person) and you'll find yourself downtown. Otherwise the lodge also provides help driving you around for a very reasonable price. The AC didn't work in our first room but the new room had a nice working AC and with a better mosquito net too. The floor in the bathroom can get super slippery after showering but we got small towels to provide it. This lodge is very price worthy indeed, the staff are amazing and I feel this is definitely a place I'd return to! Thanks to Rajabu for the delicious food, to Glory for everything and to Joice for your wonderful smile. A special thanks to Mr. Msuya for making us feel so comfortable, for your hospitality and teaching me swahili!…
If you want a quiet hotel with excellent hospitality, this is the place. You are welcomed with a hot towel and fruit juice, the rooms are spacious with great hot shower. The breakfast is amazing. Also there is a bar and an excellent dinner.
After our flight into Arusha, we were collected by Thomas, our Maasai safari guide/driver who safely took us to this little venue. We were welcomed with open arms, friendly smiles, hot towels and a super cold fruit juice drink for the 3 of us - which was much appreciated! Asante Sana 🙏 Our room was comfortable, not overly big, but it had the necessities. The bed too was comfortable compete with mosquito net, the shower was powerful and the bathroom was clean complete with a couple of nice big towels. BUT please be aware that the floor gets wet while the shower is in use and therefore gets very slippery!! I will say, do please provide plugs for the basins! as there is a huge amount of water being wasted by not having these attached to one of the taps with a small chain or a cord. Rummel, Too(Teo?) and Mariam were very helpful and worked hard to make our stay an enjoyable one - Naiman do please thank them again from us. Rummel took us to the airport in good time for our flight to Zanzibar with all good wishes 🙏…
Great food, and very good Cook. You must have Taste the dinner here. Very friendley and helpfull staff. You van relax and have a nice drink in the bar . The environment is quiet and have sunbirds in the garden. Very clean rooms. It is a great value.
We were greeted with hot towels, a fruit smoothie and warm smiles. The lodge was clean, bright, quiet and very comfortable, in the Maasai neighbourhood of Arusha. Pizza and beer for dinner, and a full hot breakfast with delicious organic fruits, Tanzanian coffee, and eggs to your taste. Thank you management of Giraffe for a lovely stay.
Staying here was amazing-great staff, secure environment and super clean facilities. Jasin(brilliant chef), cooking delicious food with lovely ambience and a relaxing environment. Just perfect mix of Tanzania culture, friendliness and ++++ hotel quality. From the moment my daughter Jacinta (25) and I walked in, we were so happy. Jasin(manager/chef) and Neiman(driver) helped us get phone SIM/money exchange, ensuring I was safe at all times and waited more than an hour without any charge. When we arrived back, I asked Jasin if he could make vegan dinner for Jacinta in Tanzanian style. He made the most delicious meal and even researched vegan restrictions. I’m not vegan, and I absolutely loved that dish he made. I didn’t eat vegan all the time. Jasin is just a naturally gifted chef with all food and it was very much appreciated. My son is a very young, senior chef at a highly respected restaurant and he would love to taste his food. My partner has owned restaurants and some of his best friends are international chefs, so I do have a taste for great food. Big surprise!! Gertrude(poa poa)and Happy(lovely as) were cleaning, serving and always with a beautiful smile. It’s a small lodge(? 8 rooms), but has everything and more than a hotel could provide. Photos do not do this place justice. There is a cute bar, bar eating area, outside sitting area and small inside restaurant. Very cool place to stay in Arusha. A few minutes out of town, but Neiman will make sure you get anywhere safely. Besides, you really don’t want to stay in town!! We loved Arusha a lot, don’t get me wrong. We walked 5hrs all around, but it can get pretty hectic if you are not used to it. Staying at Arusha Giraffe Lodge gives you security, great food, cleanliness, relaxing atmosphere, easy safe transport with a very affordable price. I made sure to tip generously, as much as I could. Recommend only staying here if visiting Arusha. Asante sana Jasin, Gertrude, Happy and Neiman for a memorable stay. Cheers Dawn & Jacinta 🌸💜🌸…
The staff went out of their way to accommodate us. Welcome drink, free shuttle to the centre and assistance with Safari and bus ticket bookings! The food was also really good for a very fair price. Can fully recommend this lodge!
We were here for one night before our safari began and had a great time hanging out in the bar (discovering Konyagi), our clean comfortable room, hot shower and eating a delicious freshly made meal by the wonderful chef. We also took the airport shuttle from Kilimanjaro airport which was a reasonable $40 for the two of us. In the morning we had a great breakfast spread provided by the chef who accommodated our vegan and vegetarian diets and were on our way. Staff was great and welcoming, food was awesome, I definitely recommend a stay here!
This was good in a remote quiet location, the staff was very friendly, the room, lobby and dining room were very clean, the food was excellent. On the minus side; WiFi was weak, the bed was an old mattress that sunk through the frame, the water pump needed to be switched on otherwise the water pressure was weak with no hot water, the toilet needed plunging, TV didn’t work and there was insufficient light in room. We stayed one night after the airport before our safari so manage your expectations, better stated, the price is low and you get what you pay for.
Close to the airport, very clean, comfortable bed and good hot water. Food was good and, most importantly, great and friendly staff, always ready to help out! I'll definitely stay again next time I go to Arusha.
