Ubud is a bustling town with a multitude of shops and traffic jams. And yet you turn off a side street and go a little ways in, and there, hidden from the busy streets, is this gem of a resort. Infinity pools overlooking the jungle, impeccable service, delicious breakfasts. I can't imagine a more comfortable place to stay in the heart of the city. You could ask for nothing more in this amazing hotel!

I have done a few trips in my life and, without choosing thousand-star accommodation, I always look for structures of a certain type that satisfy some essential requirements (location, cleanliness, value for money) and other more "frivolous" ones. (swimming pool, taste of furnishings, presence of the bar, etc.).
I think this resort was one of the nicest I have ever stayed at. First of all the location: you are in the heart of Ubud but away from noise and traffic. You don't need a taxi to get around and you can reach everything on foot in a few minutes. The breakfast is super, the staff lovely and attentive. The rooms (we stayed in two rooms because there was a small error with the booking which was brilliantly resolved) are literally overlooking the jungle. The infinity pool is amazing and there is bar service directly at the sun loungers. The SPA, tested for both Balinese massage and foot reflexology, absolutely convinced us.

In Ubud you can find accommodation at all prices: this one is in the middle and it was money well spent.

This resort is absolutely beautiful. The two pools are relaxing and so esthetic. The rooms are comfortable and we were on the bottom floor with the king bed. The bed was massive. The restaurant was a fun vibe and they offered the free breakfast in the room which we ate on our balcony with an amazing view of the forest. The shower was a rainfall shower head and was one of the best showers I’ve taken. The water pressure was so strong. The room smelled amazing and the staff was so accommodating. I really enjoyed talking with the staff including Yuda, Manik, Echa, Eka, and Aldi! They gave us great recommendations for central ubud and helped us carry all of our luggage to and from the room, which was especially helpful since one of the wheels on our bags was broken. The only parts that might be difficult for some people is that the bathroom was an open concept with a curtain and we had a room on the bottom floor where there was no elevator but it was not a problem for us to walk up and down. They have rooms on the easier to access floors as and you probably just have to ask, like I said they were very accommodating. The location was the best part, easy to walk to nearby temples, shows, ubud art market, and the monkey forest. Overall 10/10 experience.

Dear 766blairk, Warmest greetings from Adiwana Resort Jembawan, Thank you for sharing such a detailed and glowing review of your stay with us! We’re thrilled to hear that you had a 10/10 experience at our resort and that you found our two pools relaxing and esthetically pleasing. It’s wonderful to know that you enjoyed your room, especially the massive king bed and the rainforest shower—there’s nothing quite like a strong water pressure to elevate a shower experience! We’re so glad you had a chance to savor your breakfast on the balcony while taking in the amazing forest view. It’s also great to hear that our team members, including Yuda, Manik, Echa, Eka, and Aldi, made your stay even more memorable with their friendly service and helpful recommendations. We’ll be sure to pass along your kind words to them. We appreciate your understanding regarding the open-concept bathroom and the lack of an elevator on the bottom floor. We’re happy to hear these aspects didn’t detract from your overall experience and that our team was able to assist you with your luggage. Our central location is indeed one of our highlights, and we’re glad you found it convenient for exploring Ubud’s many attractions. Thank you again for your kind words and for choosing to stay with us. We hope to welcome you back to Adiwana Resort Jembawan Ubud for another perfect stay in the near future! Warm regards, Bagus Winaya Resort Manager

This was my second time visiting the resort and I’ve stayed at all 3 types of rooms so thought I would review them based on anyone deciding which one to go with.

Premier room
Top tier room with separate bathroom, bathtub and separate lounging indoor area. The most spacious and most private it’s situated in an entirely different location to the Adiwana and standard rooms and away from the communal pool so it’s a lot quieter.

Adiwana room
Situated higher than ground level which includes a bath tub and slightly more spacious.

Standard room
Base level room with no bath tub and situated on the ground level so often can hear people background noise from the people in the pool, walking past etc. This wasn’t an issue for me the first time I visited however if you prefer to have something more private go with the other 2 options.

Location 📍
One of the best parts about staying here. It’s situated down a side street off the main road so cannot hear any traffic noise however a walking distance to the best local restaurants (recommend sun sun down the road).

Food 🍲
Breakfast seems to be inclusive now and is excellent. It’s at the herb library next door and there’s no cut off time. I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast I have no idea why people have bad/average reviews about it.

Staff 👩🏻‍💻
Most importantly I would like to thank Budiawan for making my stay most enjoyable here. Thank you again for your assistance to ensure my stay was enjoyable, as promised I will stay here when I come back again and recommend to anyone visiting Ubud.

Overall I think the resort is great value for money for someone/couples wanting to treat themselves but not spend a fortune on accomodation. Resort looks like the photos online.

A very pleasant and quiet stay in the center of Ubud! The restaurant and especially the breakfast were always of high quality and varied. The room was very large with views of the rainforest. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The spa is great and the infinity pools are clean and well maintained. The room service was very well organized, the rooms were freshened daily and non-alcoholic drinks were refilled. The place is highly recommended!

Amazing hotel because of their kind and attentive staff. A special thanks to Manik, Ekha and Aldi who made our experience so great. We were greeted with a Jamu drink and snack on arrival and surprised by a number of complimentary activities including Mandola Making (really enjoyed), afternoon tea and Yoga classes.

The hotel were very quick to respond to any requests for towels etc and allowed you to have tea by the pool or your room at no extra charge.

The only down side is that our room was down three flights of stairs with no lift, but it did mean we had a nice ground floor jungle patio and there are more accessible rooms for those who book it.

Location great - try Sun-Sun and Bali Buda for food, Ganesha book shop, and Sang spa all within 2 minutes walk.

Dear meeramn, Warmest Greetings from Adiwana Resort Jembawan. Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! We're delighted to hear that you had such a positive experience, and we truly appreciate your kind words about our staff, particularly Manik, Eka, and Aldi. It’s great to know that the welcome Jamu drink, snack, and complimentary activities like Mandala making, afternoon tea, and yoga classes made your stay extra special. Our team takes pride in ensuring guests have an unforgettable experience, and we're glad we could be a part of that. We're also happy that our staff were quick to respond to your needs, and you enjoyed the flexibility of having tea by the pool or in your room at no additional cost. The ground-floor jungle patio certainly adds to the unique charm, but we’re always happy to offer more accessible rooms to suit different needs. There was no moment in the three nights and four days I stayed here that wasn't perfect. First of all, the service of all the staff was so good and friendly and I felt happy to be treated every minute. From the airport pickup service, the location, the cleanliness of the rooms, room view, daily free afternoon tea service, 15 minutes of free massage, etc. Christmas dinner, restaurant in the hotel, swimming pool, baggage, etc. I especially want to thank staff pebri!
If I come next time I will use it again. Power recommended!

Adiwana is a dream! I stayed for four nights prior to joining a women’s yoga and spiritual retreat. The retreat used to host at this hotel but have now built their own villas - but on booking - this was the hotel they used. So I booked here too.

There is nothing I can really fault, I had a couple of minor maintenance issues (AC leaked on night one) and no hot water in the bath (day two) but both were dealt with swiftly.

I stayed in the Adiwana and the room was large and very comfortable. Lovely big squishy mattress - which could have slept four easily. The bath was such a treat for me as I don’t have a bath at home, it was deep and the bath foam provided was a nice touch. So many hotels don’t offer this and you end up using a bottle of body wash! All the amenities were also lovely and smelt amazing!

The wifi is speedy (which was useful as I couldn’t find any English tv channels that were not the news) so I was able to watch Netflix on my laptop. It also stayed permanently connected to my phone so I didn’t miss any contact from home. Also useful as many hotels make you log in each time your connect.

Pools are lovely. Predominantly shady, so if you’re a big sun worshiper like me you may find that a pain, but Bali sun is fierce so you’re grateful of the shade. Only real downside is the lack of poolside service, if you want a drink or something to eat, despite the pool menus, you do need to go to the Herb Library to order. I’d recommend here that perhaps when the hotel is aware guests are by the pool, they send a waiter every hour to check on the guests. I would say they definitely missed out on sales here as many guests, myself included didn’t order anywhere near as much as we would have should someone have come to ask us.

The food at Herb Kitchen is really special, delicious healthy Indonesian food and was perfect for a veggie/vegan like myself, they were also able to cater to my peanut allergy.

The spa is amazing! Compared to the U.K. the prices are insanely good value. I had a two hour Open Chakra Massage and the time disappeared! Gorgeous.

Staff are all so kind and polite and highly attentive!

Final thing to say is the location is excellent! If you’re new to Ubud like myself the location, to the centre for shops, market, the palace etc is ideal! All within walking distance. I didn’t visit the temples as that’s the second part of my trip, but they are within easy reach (Not on foot).

I will come back to Ubud and I will stay here again! Lovely hotel. I highly recommend!

The reason I can't give this a 5* review is twofold.

Firstly, after the usual warm Balinese welcome, we were "upgraded" to a suite. We were taken down 2 floors to room 302; we were slightly put off by the bridge outside of our jungle view window, but it was explained that only the staff use that, only twice a day. Still, as we did not know what time that would be, we avoided using the bath in the window! We went straight out to explore Ubud (the hotel is in an excellent location for this) and got in very late. We were immediately hit by the overpoweringly strong smell of damp and soon started feeling unwell. I called reception and asked for a change of room which they said they would try to do the next day for us. We went out early the next day and when we returned we were indeed moved to a new room, two floors up which we much preferred.

Secondly, one of the main reasons we came here was because we had read they had a vegan restaurant. As vegans this is the first thing we look at on trip advisor reviews and why this hotel got our business. So it was confusing and surprising that despite the Vegan awards on display, most of the breakfast menu was not vegan! There were in fact only a couple of options. Also some of the staff did not seem to understand what vegan is (compared to vegetarian) - which is understandable except you are working in a restaurant which claims it is vegan! The dinner menu was similar with only a relatively small amount of vegan options. The restaurant claims it is vegan but with "omnivore options" - if this was the case I would expect to see EVERY dish as vegan but then with the option of adding meat/fish/dairy etc... but this is not how the menu is laid out.

For these two reasons, we would not come back here as we have had better (and more) vegan options in restaurants which don't claim to be vegan. And whilst the second room we had was clean, not damp, and very comfortable, it was disappointing to originally be "upgraded" into a room which I now see from reading other reviews, we are not the first to complain about.

Dear vaughanw_12, Warmest Greetings from Adiwana Resort Jembawan. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We deeply appreciate your feedback as it helps us improve our services and ensure that every guest has a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We're glad to hear that you found our location convenient for exploring Ubud and that the second room you were moved to met your expectations in terms of cleanliness and comfort. However, we are truly sorry to hear that your overall experience fell short of a 5-star rating, and we would like to address the concerns you raised. Firstly, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you experienced with the initial room you were assigned. While we always strive to provide our guests with the best possible accommodations, it's clear that the Premier Suite on the lower level did not meet your expectations. The issue with the damp smell and the lack of privacy due to the nearby bridge is not the experience we aim to provide, and we regret that this caused discomfort during your stay. We appreciate your understanding in allowing us to relocate you to a more suitable room, but we apologize that this issue affected your overall enjoyment. Secondly, we are sorry to hear that our restaurant options did not meet your expectations, especially considering it was a key factor in your decision to stay with us. We understand how important it is for vegan guests to have a variety of options, and we regret that our menu offerings and the knowledge of some staff members did not align with the high standards we aim to uphold. Your feedback is invaluable, and we will be reviewing our menu and staff training to ensure that our vegan offerings are more comprehensive and that our team is better equipped to cater to vegan dietary requirements. Once again, we apologize for the aspects of your stay that did not meet your expectations, and we appreciate your honest feedback. While we regret that your experience was not as positive as you had hoped, we hope you might consider giving us another opportunity in the future. Should you decide to return, we would do our utmost to ensure your stay is a truly 5-star experience. Our regards, Bagus Winaya Resort Manager

It was a dream holiday, the resort is surrounded by greenery, is tastefully furnished and very clean (the room is cleaned twice a day). Furthermore, the location of the resort is very convenient as it is very close to the main attractions of Ubud (many within walking distance) but at the same time immersed in peace and relaxation. The staff is very kind and always smiling, available for anything you need, in particular Manik and Ria who are always friendly and I was able to have some very interesting conversations with them about Bali and Balinese culture. I absolutely recommend this Resort
