Griya Santrian earns rave reviews for its serene beachfront setting and well-maintained pools and gardens, offering a relaxing and luxurious atmosphere. While guests have called out the spacious, clean rooms, some suggest they may need updates. The service at the hotel receives mixed feedback, with the staff's friendliness being commended, but the inconsistency at the pool and during breakfast draws criticism.
Travelers find the hotel to be of reasonable value, despite some concerns over extra fees. The hotel's prime location is frequently praised, providing easy access to the beach and nearby attractions.

Detailed Reviews
Beautiful property with spacious landscaped grounds. A choice of 3 swimming pools. One larger one near the beach was lovely, but no shade over the pool, and most of the sun lounges with umbrellas were claimed by rude guests before breakfast, and not used for hours. The two smaller pools were tucked in amongst the accommodation wings, and we managed to find lounges there. Rooms were spacious enough, clean and comfortable. Staff were polite and reasonably helpful. Restaurant food was pretty good, however missed out on most of our business due to prices - about double the price of local restaurants, plus 21% tax and service charge.
Location for us was great... we loved wandering up the pathway along the beach to shopping, restaurants, cafes etc, and wasn’t frantic with thousands of tourists. We travelled in February and weather was good - not too hot, and generally an afternoon / evening tropical downpour for an hour... didn’t stop us doing anything. We will return.

The best part of this resort is the location to the shops and restaurants, a lot of great places within a reasonably walkable distance. They keep the rooms and resort very clean, the pool is fun, although it "closes" early. The beach sand is a bit uncomfortable compared to other beaches in Bali, and the reef is very close with sea urchin warnings posted. Meals at the hotel can be quite expensive, but again, being close to so many other restaurants makes that much easier.

Griya Santrian is located in a good central position and good beachfront. They have sun lounges on the deck and also on the sand for beach goers. The restaurant and bar are not functioning on full staff or full menu so a bit difficult at the moment. They are offering very good deals on accomodation in upgraded rooms at very discounted rates. The deluxe room that we had was well located near the pool and bar and also recently renovated and nice. Special mention for Ayu at check in, nice girl and very good operator.

The actual resort was great, great location and our room was well place near the pool. We paid $220.00 per night with no breakfast and our expectation of our room and service of the room was very disappointing. The bed was placed right up against the bathroom wall which meant that you had to crawl down the bed to get in or out of the bed. When I was younger this would not have been a problem however now in my sixties and with a recent full knee replacement this is not possible. My husband is 77 so it was not an option to change sides. We advised reception and they did come down and move the bed but the gap was only 6 inches so still uncomfortable. We didn't bother ask to change rooms as other rooms would probably have been the same or in a crappy location. Everyday we had to ask for towels even after the room had just been serviced, on one occasion silly me had a shower forgetting to check for a towel, my husband went to reception to get one only be told one would be brought down immediately. ONE HOUR later 2 towels arrived still hot from the dryer. Over 30 plus years of travelling to Bali and staying 2 stars to 5 star, this was the worst for the price, if I was staying 2 star I could laugh about it but $220.00 a night this was unacceptable. A real shame as we loved the resort and location, will I go again unlikely as my trust has gone out the window. This was also our first stay in Sanur and it has put us off going again.

Stayed at Griya for 14 nights mid to late January. Had 4 rooms/6 adults near the main pool. One of our party was in a wheelchair so the resort arranged a ground floor room, constructed a ramp for us pre-arrival & were incredibly helpful throughout our visit.
The resort is wonderful; great facilities, the Sita Spa is terrific & the swim-up bar a real highlight. Great service, ate at the resort often with prices very reasonable & food quality excellent.
Can not recommend this resort highly enough. We normally stay at a nearby resort in Sanur but it was undergoing extensive renovations so this was first time at Griya. Will definitely be back!
Thanks for a great holiday

It’s pricey now, yes I know it’s beachfront and has lovely gardens, is clean and the rooms are immaculate but, I probably won’t stay there again because it is a very resort experience that fell down in some respects.
As mentioned, the pool lounger towel placers, the really unacceptable coffee in the morning, at such a price point, the line up for breakfast, the terrible , terrible single toaster to ruin your bread .
But it was so nice to get up early, enjoy the beach walk and sunrise , then sit on the loungers out the front with a plate of fruit to start the day.
To the management please, please get rid of the small plastic bottles of water you leave in the room daily. You are contributing to the environmental problems in Bali. Charge another dollar a night and provide refillable water stations .
So many places to stay in Sanur. On a balance I will try the other beachfront accomodation near Griya Santrian.

We’ve been coming here on a family holiday for more than 20 years.
Everything this resort does is perfect and up to such a high standard. We haven’t finished our trip yet but we already are certain the resort deserves 5 stars.
It’s got everything you need in one place. The breakfast has sooo many options, the pools are immaculate, the pool lounges have been upgraded with lots of double options, the restaurant has well priced food and drinks.
This trip we’ve noticed an increase in complimentary activities from a flower offering class, canoes, yoga on Friday to tea parties on Tuesday and Friday’s (for those with a coupon).
The staff take pride in encouraging guests to do these activities and really enjoy running them.
Also we were upgraded to a Deluxe room for no extra cost and were very impressed with it!
We will absolutely be back for another family holiday!

Sanur is very quiet compared to Kuta but that’s why we came here this time and Griya Santrian certainly fits the purpose. We were upgraded to a beach front suite after booking the garden room and we couldn’t be happier. The room is traditional Balinese style, clean and close to the pool and beach. Staff are all friendly and accommodating and the food excellent at the onsite restaurant. They have complimentary push bikes to use and its actually quite safe to ride them along the beach path and the main road has a bike lane. There was surf out front when the swell instead for a few days but Sanur reef looked to be closing out. Overall great stay and would be happy to come back.

Wonderful to be back having a holiday in Bali after 3 years Covid interruptions. It is going to take time for Bali to recover, but the visitors are slowly returning and right now it represents very good value.
Stayed 5 nights at the Griya at the end of a 3 week Bali holiday. Hotel was very comfortable with around 50% occupancy. Hotel is well positioned right on the beach and only a few minutes walk up to Main Street. Deluxe room on 2nd floor with renovated bathrooms and overlooking their 2nd more private pool was very comfortable. It’s a beautiful setting with everything you would expect of this sort of resort. Staff were very good overall - we ate out most days but breakfast buffet was certainly poplar. Some of sun lounges and sun umbrellas need an upgrade and there is some R&M work required around the place but overall it’s a wonderful spot for a long overdue holiday

Great option for a short stay if you’re catching the ferry to Lembongan the next day and want to be in the thriving end of Sanur. Great location by the beach with a swim-to-bar pool. The rooms are well priced, at the lower end the rooms are basic but have everything you need. We usually stay at the sister resort Puri Sanitrian at the other end of Sanur (which we prefer as it is a little quieter and is more polished) but I’m splitting hairs here, this location can’t be beat.

There now, business as usual
Not sure. We have not ever stayed in one. It should be on the website but I believe you get breakfast in nicer surroundings, drinks and nibbles there in the afternoon and a pool just for club room guests
Hi, we have had family with children of various ages staying at Griya Santrian. There is a good little pool at the front (beach) of the hotel and you see lots of young children and bubs in this one. Also, close to the sand and ocean there and the water it very clean and calm.
Regards, Christine
Hi, I have only seen younger ones snorkelling ( not sure if gear is provided) and kayaking. They do hire bikes and you can also hire e bikes on the beach front. Plus 3 pools. Unless they are into yoga, cooking classes or making flower offerings :)
