My husband and I have just returned from a 6 night stay in the Sudamala Suites & Villas Sanur and we were delighted with this hotel.
The staff make this hotel special and nothing is too much for them, they will go out of their way to make sure your stay in relaxing and stress free.
Whilst in Bali it was my husbands birthday and the hotel organised a small cake and sang happy birthday to him at breakfast, a lovely touch that was very much appreciated.
The cake tasted great too.
We booked this hotel through Groupon after reading all the rave reviews, and we were certainly not disappointed
The gardens & grounds of the hotel are immaculate and so pretty with balinese planters and statues scattered in various areas.
The breakfast in the hotel is better than a lot of 5 star hotels in the area and fresh coffee and juice is available through breakfast.
We would definitely recommend this hotel we didn’t have dinner in the hotel but there are some great places to eat nearby.
Baby Monkeys across the road from the hotel serves up great Indonesian food, also there’s an Italian restaurant called Bella Italia the most amazing food in there too if you want a change from Indonesian food.
Thank you to all the staff at Sudamala Suites & Villas for making our stay special, relaxing and memorable.

A beautiful peaceful hotel with a lovely layout around the gardens and pergolas. I loved the little art gallery and paintings around the hallways.
All the rooms had traditional painted Balinese doors and spacious bathrooms with large walk-in showers. Every day when the room was made up we were left cookies and little rolled up scrolls with stories in them.
There was no buffet breakfast or American breakfast. It was all a la carte, although there some 50,000rupiah specials such as omelette or pancakes ….
The pool was large with plenty of chairs and umbrellas, and the spa was reasonably priced. The hotel provides a pass to use towels, chairs and umbrellas on a section of beach which .
The staff were all very warm and friendly, and we loved staying there

Lovely gardens and very large bed which was very comfortable. Staff helpful and friendly. 5 minute walk to beach and plenty of restaurants/ bars within walking distance. Pedal bikes available on a first come first served basis but always managed to borrow 2 and really good to cycle down the beach path. Pool area nice and quiet. Sun loungers, towels and umbrellas available on the beach - just get a pass from reception. A la crate breakfast had enough choice but only allowed one main and one drink. If you want a coffee and a glass of orange you have to pay extra for one of them.
Beds made everyday and plenty of mosquito repellent and spray which was replenished daily as well as 2 bottles of drinking water.

Sudamala is a beautiful resort set back in the streets of Sanur. It is a short walk to the beach where there are reserved sun loungers for guests. Our room was spacious and very clean - we did find there were unwanted guests (mosquitos) joining us, however the hotel did provide bug spray and plug ins. The pool area was gorgeous and very well kept. The restaurant food was ok, however service was slow at times- the staff were lovely though. Our main complaint was that the bedding/water/towels are not changed daily so it can be an inconvenience asking for replacements - however this didn’t ruin our stay.

We stayed here for 5 nights with our 2 kids and a large group of friends and the staff went above and beyond to cater to everyone's needs. I felt relaxed from the moment we arrived, beautiful gardens, large pool, attentive staff. We honestly couldn't ask for more!

The only thing we struggled with was the open air bathroom, apart from mosquitos, the heat at this time of year was just unbearable.

The markets and grocery store were a short walk down the street which is directly opposite the hotel, beach is also just a short walk and the local area offered good restaurants within easy walking distance.

I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely come back.

Thank you Sudamala for making our first trip to Bali a memorable one!

This hotel is nice enough. We started our stay on a bad note due to requiring 2 rooms close to each other as I have 2 children with chronic health conditions that require medication at night. On our arrival we discovered our rooms were on opposite sides of the complex and the hotel was fully booked. My husband and I had to separate to be with the children which was extremely annoying. We also had to separate out all of our luggage. The rooms are adequate and clean. The beds comfy. The shower isn’t very powerful but did the job. The safe was not attached to the wall which was a concern. The bathroom had no window (only a wooden grille) so you are woken in the morning by any external noise. The front door also had a huge gap underneath. We were woken early everyday by cockerels and repetitive music being played at the reception area. We asked why this was and was told it is a call for breakfast. The music went on from 7am-10am and as mentioned earlier you can hear all external noise. My husband managed to block up the front door gap with towels which helped somewhat. The pool was ok but looked very dirty on the bottom. It just needs emptying and a thorough clean I think. There was always a problem getting towels around the pool and usually had to wait around 30mins plus for new towels to be brought out. There was broken tiling around the pool which was swept away at our request. We didn’t try the food. The massage was ok nothing special.

Response from Sudamala Resorts Management, Other at Sudamala Resort, Sanur

Thank you for taking the time to write a review following your stay at Sudamala Resort, Sanur. We are sorry to hear your stay was not entirely able to meet your expectations but are nonetheless pleased to read you enjoyed the rooms and their cleanliness as well as the large comfy king-sized beds. Our resort design showcases Balinese tropical architecture of which the semi-outdoor showers are a nice example, we are sorry to hear you did not enjoy this experience. We apologize again for not being able to allocate rooms next to one another due to the high occupancy we were experiencing during your stay. We also note your comment on the traditional rindik music played between 8AM and 10AM in front of the resort’s gallery, during your stay our team adjusted the timing to 9AM-11AM for your convenience. We look forward to welcoming you again in the future and let you experience the hospitality Sudamala Resorts are renowned for. Kind regards, Sudamala Management

Family holiday finally after covid restrictions!
The hotel is beautiful and the staff are very welcoming and friendly.
Breakfast has a good selection of choices , not many sunbeds both around the pool and on the beach .
The walk to the beach and to local restaurants is on an uneven path and quite dark in places.
We were upstairs in the hotel, the rooms are spacious and have shower gel and shampoo, there’s quite a lot of steps round and about so if you have an injury it can be tricky.
The only thing I could fault it on is the cleaning of the rooms , they are cleaned and beds made but they could be done to a higher specification.

This hotel is incredible! All the staff were wonderful, so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much.
Our suite was stunning, a huge area with a bed that I’m sure must have covered two postcodes and a balcony which overlooked the lush gardens, it was so tranquil.
Breakfast was not a buffet style affair , which was a welcome change, the menu focused on healthy breakfast choices as well as the usual full Monty, everything was beautifully presented, so pretty it was a shame to eat it. All breakfast choices were delicious and served by lovely restaurant staff.
I used the spa, I chose a two hour facial and full body massage, yes, you can get a massage in the beach for the equivalent of £6, but the experience was well worth it. The spa itself was beautifully decorated, hidden in a nook by the pool, I went in all hot and bothered and left feeling like the cleanest goddess on earth, they clearly work miracles.
A massive thank you to all the wonderful staff who made our stay so memorable, special thanks to Wida on reception who was so cheerful and helpful, a real asset to the Sudamala team.

I had been wanting to stay at Sudamala Suites but had not gotten around to it. I was organising a trip with 3 very old friends - 65 +, just before leaving one friend had to pull out, the booking changed from 2 garden rooms to 1, the hotel could not have been more helpful.
The staff went above and beyond, the breakfast was wonderful, their coffee very good and a wide range to choose from.
We ate once at the restaurant for dinner - we were staying 3 nights - the service and food were excellent.
Pool was very good and the gardens were beautifully tended.
I will return.

We arrived to the resort on 3rd of April late evening and were welcomed by very friendly stuff who offered to help us with our lugguage and moved to the reception. The check-in process was expremely smooth. we were introduced to a few guidelines and were escorted to our room.

The room was very clean ans spacious, the overal facilities were completly met our expectations. We found a welcoming letter, bottled water, traditional cookies and an evening story on a beatifully folded paper. Little we knew that we will receive a new story every night. After getting room service and eating dinner in our room, we proceeded with a very long sleep after such a trip.

Restaurant: An a la cart briekfast was included in our booking. We were offered some local crunchy bread and fresh fruits. The breakfast was delicious. The restaurant suff: absolutely amazing!

Spa: We have booked a spa session and were offered several aromatic oils oils that we could choose from. It was very relaxing and a good way to begin our vacation. The staff again was clearly above anything else.

The pool: The pool was located in a bewtiful part of the resourt, surrounded by palms and other plants. It was clean, quiet, we were offered clean towels and we were able to order drinks or snacks any time.

Service: It was on a whole other level. Nothing that we experienced before in any other hotel. The staff is genuinly nice friendly and determined to go beyound to reach your expectations. We would rate the staff 1000000/10. Absolutely mind blowing.

House keeping/Room service: The house keeping will make sure that the place is clean without invading in your personal space. They will always find a good time slot to make it as smooth as possible. They come twice per day: 1 to clean the room and 2 to place a mosquito repelland on the balcony and the evening story (we really enjoyed these stories) The room service will bring anything you need in the room when you need it.

We stayed in the resort for 12 nights and the resort far exceeded our expectation. Cannot recommend it more than we already do! Thank you Bali, Thank you Sudamala staff and administration! Hope to see you again in the future!

Hey there, glad to answer your questions. The Sudamala Boutique Hotel is in an area of Sanur where about 80% of the businesses are recovered. That is the case throughout Bali. Lots of options for great restaurants nearby: Cafe Batu Jimbar Three Monkeys Jalapeños Massimos Naughty Nuri’s Arena Lots of beachside restaurants like Soul on the Beach Kayu manis You can walk the strand from south to north of beach strand for about a 4 mile stretch Sudamala has great food as well and they do serve poolside. They have buffets and nighttime acoustic singing on a couple nights of the week. The advantage of this hotel is that the property is well kept, staff well treated, and campus of hotel is a good space of artistic design in landscaping as well as room decor.

Not on beach you walk around the corner and down a road to the beach. We paid extra $5.00 per day and that included all items on breakfast menu. Wonderful place to stay , excellent service and wonderful staff.

It should cost you approximately $5.00 a day for both of you, it’s very cheap to eat there. We included our breakfast each day at the resort, but walking around you can grab breakfast anywhere. Extremely cheap to eat there. They offer Bali food, fresh fruit or western breakfast. Your going to love it.
