Much Love
Nazar
Firstly: Why Sanur? Easy question...when I mentioned where I was going (to everyone that's been to Bali) they nodded encouragingly---good enough for me
Ok...moving right along...I was pleasantly greeted by Ketut and we instantly connected as she spoke and articulated with me in near perfect english (trust me, it felt like a lifeline after my rather challenging airport experience...geez that's another story all on its own)
Now...I'm no princess and it's probably not for everyone, so being shown the Double room...to me, I loved that it was part of a very old home which had tonnes of character (it had a warm feel to the whole place, and no I'm not talking about the mugginess either)
Noting: If you work FIFO exploration WA & a Coast-ee kiwi, you're 'get' where I'm coming from...
Yes...it was basic and the ensuite was a little on the small-ish side and it has good aircon, overall it suited my purpose and I enjoyed my stay
Ketut is my hostess (still on holiday...) and she is the loveliest, most helpful...did I mention, the kindest person you would be fortunate enough to meet in Sanur?!
We sat down outside my room and I went thru all my newbie questions...you know what, she made awesome recommendations, I booked them thru her and I had a stonkingly good time (my new age word for this year)
Recommendations:
Ketut (male driver) took me to Orchid Spa Kuta, Matahari Cafe (Jimbaran), Uluwatu temple
Mola Mola Express driver took me to Sanur Beach for Nusa Penida West trip
Bread basket (across the road) for breakfast
Retro restaurant (turn right) for cocktails...get your 'happy-on' and dinner
Coco express (turn right) for cheap Bintang lemon beer to top off the evening
Things that may be helpful:
Room is serviced every 4 days
Shared water filter and fridge with roomy next door...kitchen is out of bounds (family room only)
Be considerate and turn off aircon and lights when you walk out the door
Umm, I think I've covered off on this place...enjoy your stay...I did
But the best thing about staying at Prasanthi is the host Ketut. From the first minute we felt so welcome. Ketut goes above and beyond to make you feel at home. We had the pleasure to talk to about Balinese culture, religion and life in general. She patiently answered all our questions and help us with everything we needed during our two weeks stay. We were sad to leave and will definitely come back.

Though it is mostly quiet after 00:00, during the day and evening there usually is noise as the place is adjacent to a restaurant where they play music (low sound bass). It is not far from the noisy Sanur highstreet.
The dorm room with four beds is outside the Prasanthi compound with higher priced rooms; this room is in the alley facing a wall with some plants in front, which you can hardly call a 'garden view' as is suggested on the booking website. You can not use the kitchen or sit in the garden.
Security is weak as Prasanthi is in an alley that can be freely accessed by the public. There are webcams, but for thieves easy to circumvent. Not for guests. Inside the dorm room there is a webcam overseeing the beds, not the lockers! Manager and assistant manager are absent most of the time. Most communication is by email, phone or app.
Many rules like you are not allowed to sit on an unused bed, or to put a bag on your bed. No bicycle at additional charge as promised on the website, just a reference to the beach where you can rent one yourself.
What really put me off is that I was summoned to leave, while they had not closed the booking. Even with a confirmed booking no extension! Staff was not so friendly after all.
