Would happily come back here again. The owners were very welcoming, friendly and obliging. Rooms were clean; some might say the pool was a little small, but not me; it was the perfect temperature and set amongst a very pretty, well cared for garden/courtyard. Rooms were clean and the shower was divine!
I had pancakes for breakfast. Very nice.
If you are bothered by mosquitoes, like I am, ask to have your room sprayed.
Thanks for the great stay!

Very clean rooms with nice furnishings. Not to far from Sanur beach. Good value for money. They also arranged a deal with the glory boat to Lembongan for 375,000RP return. Watch out for the 3am Cockerells if your not used to it, (like us for example), they will wake you!

Having travelled around SE Asia for months with my husband, I was now on my own while he went to visit family. Having never travelled alone, I was a little apprehensive and nervous. I arrived here very last minute having had my boat to Gili cancelled due to weather. Coming from Kuta, I wanted to get a bit closer to Padang Bai and thought Sanur was a good place as I could also look at options from the harbour there.

The owner Rai was immediately very warm and offered assistance with helping me to get to wherever I wanted to go. As August is high season, I was really lucky to get a room. The room was basic and had no external view with just a small obscured window towards the ceiling but to be honest, this actually made me feel even more secure. The room had air con and en suite shower and I felt was good value! Breakfast was included in the price and I can highly recommed the pancakes which were delicious! The coffee was also great! There is a small pool but I didnt make use of it on the short stay.

The only negative would be that the room was a bit noisy as it backed onto the road but many of the rooms are positioned differently so it wouldnt be a problem. Also the road noise did not go on all night as its not a main road.

As boats were still not going to Gili the next day, I decided to go to Nusa Lembongan which Rai organised for me within minutes and I was able to leave within only a couple of hours (150Rp one way from Sanur to Lembongan with pickup and hotel drop off at the other end).

Its a no frills option for a really good price and a safe and friendly atmosphere. The location is very good, a short walk to the beach/harbour.

Thank you Rai and the rest of your lovely team!

Rai House is in a small lane way about 200m from the beach, and is an absolute gem. We stayed for one night on our way to Lembongan, and nothing was too much trouble. They arranged a competitively priced return boat to Lembongan (Rp 375,000 pp) and the rooms were exceptionally clean, with a nice breakfast and a beautiful small plunge pool. Great way to start a Bali trip. If you're looking for something cheap and simple to get you from Point A to B, this is a fantastic option

Charming little homestay. We just booked as we had a 1:30am flight so we had somewhere to relax and nap before heading to hotel. Lovely little pool area. Wifi didn't work in the bedroom though and no sink in the ensuite which was weird just shower and toilet. Charming owners but lots of local dogs and noise early evening so not much sleep before flight. However by 11pm it was all very quiet. Loads of mosquitoes around so pack spray but that's not their fault

Rai House generally seems to get excellent reviews. It's got a small, but nicely landscaped pool, they serve simple but good breakfasts. It's fairly new and for the price your room seems good quality. But there are some subtle but important negatives. Our rooms air-conditioning wasn't good. Not sure if the unit itself wasn't powerful enough or it just needed a good service, probably a combination of the two. But it rarely had the room temperature under control and had no chance at keeping the humidity level comfortable. The second issue is the ventilation in the bathroom. It's a slit high in the wall, open to the world, no bug proof mesh that I could see. This slit let's in noise and in the morning that means a loud and squawky dawn chorus, plus local dog and plane noise, this appears to be amplified in the echoey bathroom. To get to Sanur beach you have to cross the main road. There are traffic lights and sometimes even a little green man pedestrian light, but traffic generally ignores this and you need to be ninja to cross safely.

This homestay has only been operating for a few months so all the rooms and facilities are almost new. The rooms are well furnished and there is even a little swimming pool. Considering that the place itself is quite small they did a brilliant job with fitting in all that you can possibly need. The breakfast is yummy fried rice, noodles or pancakes. All included in a price that I would consider good value even without the free breakfast. There is free WiFi and it's close to the Sanur beach if you want to catch a ferry to Nusa Lembongan. We booked ferry tickets through the homestay and paid 400k per person for return ticket instead of the advertised 550k (and that included pick up and drop off at both ends). We only stayed at Rai House for one night on the way to Nusa Lembongan. When we were discussing the return boat times with the lady at reception we realised that we need to take the early boat but then our flight was not until 7pm and we will have several hours to spend in Sanur with all our luggage. The lady very kindly offered us to come back to the homestay and spend the afternoon there before heading to the airport. We were allowed to use the pool and dry our diving equipment by the poolside (we opted to have lunch and drinks at the homestay as a way of saying thank you for letting us hang out there before our flight). It was really what I would call going the extra mile to make sure your customers are happy. This place is a real gem and the word is spreading fast so be sure to book before you come.

I spent 5 days in Sanur to do my open water certificate and was lucky to spend it at Rai's place.
The family was really friendly, helped me with transportation and gave me good recommendations for dinner places.
Also very nice atmosphere with the other guests, had some nice chats over breakfast or in the evening after dinner.

It's a bit further outside but if you don't mind walking there is a really nice beach front walk (4km) to the other end of Sanur, or rent a scooter.

Can recommend staying here, the rooms are new and clean, the family is lovely and though close to the big street it's very quiet.

Less than 10 minute walk to the beach. A quiet location even though it's near a busy street.

I know everyone says that the Balinese are the nicest people and I think that Rai and his family are the nicest people in Bali.

From the upstairs rooms you get an amazing views of the volcano, sunrise and sunset.

The pool is wonderful and the internet is fast.

Shared pool which is very small and quite enclosed by buildings. There's only a couple of loungers, pool really only good for a quick cooling off dip, not really for lounging around for the day.
