I had the privilege of staying at the Bale to celebrate the new decade with my family . I cannot emphasise enough just how amazing the experience was . Upon arrival at the airport ( at midnight after travelling for 21 hours from Edinburgh ) we were greeted by our driver , who took care of our luggage and provided us with cold water and cool face towels . Upon arrival at the resort a short drive later , we were greeted by the lovely Gobi , who checked us in quickly and had some refreshing drinks awaiting us . He then took us to our accommodation ( a luxurious double pavilion with huge private pool) and , despite the late hour , had asked the chef to stay back to prepare a supper for us . The fridge was restocked daily with plenty of water and branded soft drinks , all complimentary . We were also given jars of cookies and fresh fruit every day . We opted for half board and it was worth every rupiah . Both the breakfast and dinner service were a la carte . There was no limit to what we could order . And the food was wonderful . The service was the best I have ever experienced . From the waiting staff , spa therapists , reception staff , chefs , housekeeping and gardeners . They were all so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us . We had a small issue with the WiFi and it was resolved without delay . Andre the general manager was ever present , talking with all of his guests and making sure everything was ship shape and everyone was happy . He organised an itinerary for us one day when we decided to leave this tranquil oasis and see more of the island . We had a private driver , who met us at 6am . The hotel had even prepared breakfast boxes for us .The resort drivers also taxied us to anywhere we wanted to go in Nusa Dua area , free of charge ( they were thoroughly deserving of our tip each time, and very appreciative of it too ) . Whether it was to visit the Bale's own private beach , visit the local shops , exchange currency , visit Bale Collection , Water Blow beach or even just to lunch at a nearby hotel ( I’d recommend the Regis , Westin and Grand Hyatt ) . Wherever you visit , I guarantee you will be glad to return to this oasis of calm and beautiful luxurious surroundings , as well as friendly faces. It was like coming home. We used the spa several times and the therapists there were very skilled as well as friendly . Lastly , as our flight home wasn’t until midnight , I paid for a late checkout, which enabled us to keep our rooms until 6pm . However, they kindly let us keep the rooms right up to the time we left for the airport , again shuttled free by the Bale . If I didn’t live so far away from this beautiful island and it’s people , I would return there more frequently . But I will definitely return . My sincere thanks to Andre and all the Bale family for doing their utmost to make our holiday experience at the Bale truly outstanding

I stayed at The Bale for 8 nights with my mother and my sister, from my first night to my last I can safely say I enjoyed every minute. The rooms are very spacious and offer plenty room, with a pool in the comfort of your small garden, I didn’t feel like I had to go up to the main pool which is usually a task to find sunbeds in most other hotels. But if I did want to visit the main pool I never had a problem with finding any space to sit. The breakfast location is beautiful, the staff were so professional yet friendly to us every morning and every night. Breakfast was my favourite moment of the day and something I will never forget, my sister and I tried many different options on the menu every morning and enjoyed every single one. The ladies that usually served us us in the morning were so lovely and attentive, also very switched on. Once arriving from the airport you are offered hotel taxis, from the stress of getting our luggage from a Dubai flight to being welcomed into a cool taxi with cold water, fruit and face cloths was a nice touch. We found that our taxi drivers were always very friendly and funny! Everyone was so humble, including the manager who took time out to recommend different activities to us. I really strongly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a quiet place with a beautiful location and exceptional service.

You will enjoy a stay with style, substance and soul when you enter The Bale.
The Villas are tastefully and immaculately designed. Which combined with utmost serenity creates a platform for truly memorable moments.
The Hospitality sector is not only about magnigicicent infrastructure but even about the personalised service. The staff here is uniformly well informed and eager to ensure that the guests enjoy the facilities during their stay is a big plus for this property. I must mention Ms Widya who stood out for her exceptional service.
A personalised hand written congratulatory card from GM. Changing jar of cookies to eggless on request. Such small things matters in a big way.
When you hear the word Complementary, there are so many things in this property which are complementary.. Be in-room bar (replenished daily)
Relaxing welcome massage, a tour around Nusa Dua, Drop-off to Airport, Buggy pick & drop to beach club, Cookies Jar (again replenished daily)
On request of some inconvenience due to Air Conditioner, we were allotted Pavillion Villa in no time. It sits on the top of the property and has a magnificient view of the property from the pool.
The food is superlative and can be customized as per your taste. Ms Cahya (Faces Restaurant) handles orders well.
Note: Request the Management & Technical Team to resolve the issue of Air Con Cimpressors in Room No 19 & 12. And check for repair/reppace the issues (if any) in other Villas also. And bring some permanent resolution to keep a check on mosquitoes.

It’s perhaps wrong to call The Bale a boutique hotel as it is much more than that. Yes it has two wonderful restaurants, glistening main pool area and a wonderful spa, all the things you expect to find at upmarket 5 star resorts but The Bale provides an adults only hideaway. It’s a collection of 28 rooms each with its own pool and outdoor area more typically called a villa. The rooms are large, luxurious and provide all the modern conveniences you would expect with outdoor showers, twice daily turndown service and staff on hand to cater to your every request.
The staff are truly exceptional. The general manager, Andre goes out of his way to say hello, enquire if every is going well and provide any assistance. His staff follow his lead and genuinely care about you, the guest, and your experience at this wonderful resort. They go the extra mile to make things right in their attention to detail. Congratulations to Raz in Faces restaurant who always greets us with a smile and goes about her duties as a true professional.
If you are looking for something different to your 300 room 5 star resort The Bale is certainly the place for you. I look forward to returning soon!

We stayed at The Bale for 3 nights. We had a little hiccup where Agoda removed our booking at the very last minute whilst we were travelling. The Bale nevertheless sent their driver to pick us up from the airport in the evening, rather than being caught by surprise with nothing arranged. Obviously we were displeased by the fact that Agoda was selling us a rate (without warning or checking) that wasn’t applicable to us and then just removed the booking. All was resolved thanks to the GM, Jose, the next morning so that we could go back into vacation mode.
The property is about 20 years old, but the design could also fit any property just recently built. The Villa (deluxe) was very spacious and the bed super comfy. We loved the privacy of the walled garden with pool, loungers and a bale, so that even during rainy weather you’d be safe and dry outside. The Villa itself is quite large and the AC is doing a very good job.
It’s nice that there also a large two-level communal pool next to the restaurant to get a change of scenery, or have your lunch there. The breakfast is a la carte, but very extensive and tasty. We also enjoyed our Indonesian dinner at the same restaurant.
The beach is a 5-minute walk. Their own private section isn’t in operation at the moment, but there’s plenty of loungers with food and beverage service there to use. When we had dinner reservations or plans outside, they were ways keen to drop us off anywhere in the Nusa Dua area and also dropped us off at our next destination in Jimbaran.
Would be go back to The Bale? Absolutely, without hesitation….we would just ensure to book directly with them next time.

Similarly to someone that have recently posted, the rate extended was not meant for international travelers which caused unfortunate circumstances (and in some cases, negative perception). Fortunately we were able to remediate the situation meeting you personally and making things work so that you could enjoy what The Bale is all about. Thanks for your kind words regarding the resort itself. Despite being 20 years we still do the utmost to keep the property in good shape. The location of the hotel is close to golf course which makes it very silent and close to nature. The team that works here is doing their best to make the guests feel comfortable and even goes out of their way to offer any assistance. I would give them 5 star for this.
The Villa with pool are very spacious and offers a lifestyle within nature which makes it an ideal place if you are nature lover and want to experience tropical nature. The pool is spacious. The bed is comfortable and covered with mosquito net as being in nature, it is required.
The breakfast was served in the room and all requests can be made thru a simple app which makes it very convenient.

My wife and I decided that it was time to return to beautiful Bali for a relaxing break. The Bale was chosen by us out of several recommendations from our travel agent. It turned out to be an inspired choice.
The best way for me to describe our experience is to say that despite the resort being fabulous and the accommodation outstanding it was the way the staff make you feel that made our stay so memorable.
All the staff from the Resort manager Jose, the Chef Benny, the reception staff, restaurant staff, drivers to the gardeners, cleaners and maintenance staff made you feel welcome and special. Nothing was too much for them and their courteous, friendly manner was really appreciated by us.
You can build the most luxurious resort in the world but if the staff are stressed and overworked it will reflect in their level of service. That is something I think the management at The Bale understand and the staff to client ratio is one of the best I’ve seen. The consistency in providing such a high level of service was noticeable.
Our accommodation was a deluxe single pavilion. It was spacious and private and we just loved the size of the pool which was bigger than most pools you get with villas in Bali.

Benny had a million- dollar smile at Faces Restaurant! Rainy season was indeed challenging at times this year making certain areas a bit slippery particularly along the ramp towards your villa which we have been addressing more regularly with high pressure to ensure natural surface would be cleaned at all times minimizing any potential risk. Fortunately weather seems to be more in our favor these days as we approach the end of the rainy season! can't wait !!!! Thanks again for all your valuable feedback. This hotel is approximately 20 years old but,while not BRAND brand new,it is still immaculate and an incredibly well architecturally designed complex of extremely private villas with their own pools entered directly from the bathroom sliding doors. So very cool but,should you want access to the best part of the beach,then the Balé has a JV with the best local beach club for seriously great beds and beautiful food .
All the staff at The Balé are just incredibly helpful and constantly smiling under the professional charm of Alain,the hotel’s manager.
I can’t recommend this hotel highly enough. It is five star all the way!

We booked Deluxe room, it was very clean. Not many mosquitoes in the hotel area.
Some issues with the room:
Air conditioner works good just in the bedroom, but in the bathroom it’s still too hot.
Shower pressure in indoor shower is very poor (for long hair wash for sure), so I used outside shower.
Room lock didn’t work properly: you lock the door and it looks ok but if you slightly pull it, it opens. We reported about it, but it wasn’t fixed.
Internet connection was horrible: sometimes it worked very slow, sometimes it didn’t work at all. If you buy a local sim card, it will be much faster.
Spa experience was very disappointing.
Breakfasts were really tasty and wide choice. Dinner food was average.
Staff cares about you, they are friendly and helpful, but we had another issue with them: In outside shower area a small bird made a nest in the bush and we saw two chicks in there. In about 2 days the nest was removed as well as chicks! When we asked hotel staff about it, we were told that «no animals are allowed to be on hotel’s territory». That’s a very disrespectful attitude to the nature.
I also consider this place overpriced for Bali.

It’s about a 30-40min drive in Bali traffic to get to Kuta. Easy if you have a driver not so easy if on scooter
The free drop off and pick up service for in-house guests is available from 7am to 11pm during guest stay but booking in advance is required. The distance is maximum 5km away from the resort. But they can also order a metered taxi to destinations beyond 5km if guest requires.
The breakfast is A'la lcarte, but you can order as much as you like whether eating at the restaurant or ordering into the room. Spa Facilities are definitely able to be used. We only used our pool in the villa and this was not heated but the water temperature was just perfect for swimming. It was a beautiful resort, 36+ villas and at capacity when we stayed, you would be hard pressed running into 3 couples whilst there, very quiet and relaxing. Hope you enjoy :)
