A beautiful 14th century fort, sensitively converted to become a Six Senses sanctuary of well-being. Originally owned by the Rajasthani Royal Family, it faces the Chauth ka Barwara Mandir temple. The significant conservation effort incorporates a palace and two temples within the walled fort. The design reinterprets the gracious and regal ambience of a bygone era dating back 700 years.

Six Senses Fort Barwara is often celebrated for its fusion of historical charm and contemporary luxury, providing guests with an enchanting atmosphere and a selection of luxurious amenities such as a spa and pool that earn continuous praise. The hotel's cleanliness is impeccable, with guests frequently commending the pristine condition of both the grounds and rooms. While the service is generally lauded for its warm and personalized approach, it's worth noting that some guests have encountered slow service. The property's stunning location is a highlight for those seeking relaxation amidst picturesque surroundings. The spacious and stylish rooms are well-received, despite some feedback on their rates and limitations. However, concerns are raised regarding the hotel's value, as some travelers question the justification of high prices, especially when considering room occupancy limits and additional charges for certain in-room services.

Located in Ranthambore in a town called Barwara, this property is nothing short of breathtaking. I picked Six Senses for my 30th birthday and hands down it's left me with memories that shall last a lifetime. Beginning with the warm welcome chant on arrival followed by a short tour of the property on our way to the room; every single element in sight was captivating. The parts of the fort preserved are around 700 years old and the history in sight screams volumes about the extravagant lifestyles led by the royals back in their time. The ambience of the property oozes regality by the hospitality provided by the entire Six Senses team. Services rendered at reception by our personal GEM's Ms. Mamta and Mr. Mani were nothing short of impeccable; they assisted us throughout the stay with all our hotel and sight seeing needs gracefully. Serving us with drinks that went down smoother than butter was Mr. Shubham who has quite a few magnificent signature drinks which aren't something that one should miss. The property made arrangements for our trip to the city as well as the National Park with immaculate flow of events and meals throughout the course of the day. Luckily, we spotted a tiger with a cub supposedly having breakfast in the wild on our Safari run in Zone 2. Catering to the most minuscule need of the client from dawn to dusk and further while ensuring you experience the fort like a true royal is something they mastered to the T. Food at the property is delectable and services offered by the chef as well as Mr. Dipendra were exceptional. After a reasonable worded review I still cannot do justice to the hospitality and services rendered to us during our stay by the Six Senses Team. To sum it all up, Ranthambore has two experiences - one being the Ranthambore National Park and the other being "Six Senses Fort Barwara".

We celebrated our second anniversary at the property and were super happy that we decided to come here . Getting to the hotel is extremely easy , roughly a 2.30 hours from Jaipur airport , the road is top notch and the hotel is almost connected to the highway .
Our check in formalities were already done by the time we had reached the hotel , they hotel dedicates a GEM to you during your stay and they take all your details before your arrive so that you don’t have to wait to get your room . We had informed the hotel before hand that we were visiting for a special occasion , so they made the trip even more memorable . Our rooms were upgraded , they had decorated the room and put personal notes as well wishing us . We had the privilege of staying at the Aravali suite , the room was beautiful , roughly 1200 sq ft , extremely spacious and had such cute niche areas that you felt like enjoying every corner . The rooms were super clean and extremely well maintained , even the outdoor areas . Shadab from the housekeeping team ensured that the room was always well kept and they almost serviced it thrice in a day , including the turn down services . The property is extremely beautiful , even though it’s an old fort , they have kept parts of that intact and modernised the other part making the whole experience worth it .
The hotel also has a temperature controlled pool , which makes it amazing to swim even in the winters .
The overall experience is top notch and the staff is extremely warm and courteous .They lift the service one notch higher and spoil future benchmarks for you as a customer .
We had Divya Sharma as our GEM , she was hands on and outstanding at her work , there was not a single thing that the hotel refused and they knew all your movements throughout the property . A special shout out to the below team who ensured that our experience was nothing less than mind blowing :

Rhythm
Divya Sharma
Raj
Goverdhan
Anik
Pushpendu

They also curated a special dinner for us on our anniversary at their destination dining , which again was really good .

Overall : A must visit

I want to share with you our amazing experience at Six Senses Fort Barwara. It will not be wrong to say that the staff are the most hospital people. They are filled with love, compassion, respect, discipline and astuteness. As you interact with them, you will experience compassion in the purest forms. I would like to mention a few of the staff who displayed exemplary performance. I’d like to start off with your GEM, Vishmbher. Vish made sure all of our needs were met WHATEVER they were. He is exceptional at what he does and was the one responsible for making our stay as lovely as it was. I am sure he will go very far in his career. Chef Charul went way above my expectations to accommodate my special food needs and would even serve me my food personally. Chandrima, our food and beverage server always served us with a smile. Mansi, the housekeeper was exceptional and made me feel like a queen for my birthday. I would come back to our room with something special set up like a bubble bath, fresh local flowers picked and happy birthday signs spelled out in rice for sustainability. On the last day, she surprised us with a local tradition string puppet that is well known for folk art. Unfortunately I forgot the name of the young gentlemen who assisted the servers and set up our dinner table one evening with beautiful birthday decorations from the local garden for my birthday. It was SO beautiful.

So, needless to say, you will never forget the staff you meet at Fort Barwara, for they are exceptional.

This is a “SIX” star experience!

The place is simply breathtaking. An old fort converted into a five star speaks a beautiful language. The rooms are beautifully designed and luxurious and the fort especially the pool looks beautiful at night !!
Talking about hospitality it was exemplary from the day we checked in to the day we checked out. The staff was very welcoming and polite.
Special thanks to Mr. Vishambar ( GEM) For going an extra mile to keep us comfortable. He was caring and generous enough to extend our room check out timings as my hubby got little Unwell. It was heart touching that he kept asking about his health till we reached home safely. Small gestures make lovely memories.
Mr Abhimanyu who took us for a fort round was very well versed with the forts history.
I’d also highly recommend their sounds spa which takes you to a different world.
Sagma at the spa made it a beautiful experience. Dr Jatinder at the spa is very knowledgeable and guides you according to your need.
For activities ms Bharti taught my baby how to make natural lip balm n chef Sandeep taught her mocktails. U can’t get bored , they keep u engaged!
Another beautiful thing about the property is there no plastics use at all. Mr Sidharth (Director of sustainability) explained me how the property is taking small details in mind to use only bio degradable stuff. Even the Roomkeys are paper-based and not plastic .
Food is excellent and the chef too pampers you to the core.
Overall it was a memorable experience and I would highly recommend this place. 💕

This is a beautiful blend of luxury, detailed orientation and nature. Each corner of the property is beautifully curated, which remains also consistent in their food menu. The colour of the buildings make them blend into the serene backdrop of Aravalis. The magnificent balcony overlooking mountains in our bedroom forced us night owls to wake up in time for sunrise every morning. We were there for Christmas and their brunch menu meticulously curated for the occasion, paired with live Christmas song performances by a jazz trio made for a merry Christmas indeed. The staff is very hospitable and courteous and made sure every experience touched upon their ideals of a peaceful and serene stay.

After waiting for years, finally got to try the much anticipated eco-minded Six Senses Fort Barwara, restored over ten years.

The hotel is a fairy tale of mahals and turrets, contemporary with Rajasthani aesthetics, my room came with Toto style heated Kohler toilets, gigantic square stone bath (I preferred the courtyard showers under a starlit sky), outdoor patio with a swing chair. I was in the east wing (room 222) overlooking the mataji ka talab lake and chauth mata temple. Of the entire hotel, I loved the zenana mahal most, and especially the Bhutanese massage in one of the 14th century rooms.

Dining caters to a variety of diets, with wholesome, fresh seasonal produce largely sourced locally (including their own gardens). I am normally on a pescatarian diet but ordered their knock out laal maas two dinners in a row. My lunches were at the Arabic Rani Bagh restaurant, next to their gorgeous pool.

This is my 8th Six Senses hotel and I really like the company’s forte & impact, including the rewilding projects around the hotel, showcasing the local communities’ food, craft and culture, water treatment, avoiding plastics etc.

As expected, service was superb, you can WhatsApp with your own “guest experience maker”, my GEM was Rohit Tyagi, super helpful and responsive.

For excursions, Ranthambore park is only an hour away but I had zero desire to leave my surreal cocoon.

We reached Six senses, Fort Bharwara around 12.45. We drove through the Bharwara village. There is a lake outside & some temples dotting the shores. But the village was extremely dirty.

The Six senses has made the property very tastefully. It has maintained the rustic look. The brown colour just blends with the Aravalli mountain ranges. Its so tasteful, raw beauty. Twenty percent of the structure is old belonging to the 14th century & rest of it has been newly built blending with the environment. We got the Aravalli facing suites. The suites were so luxurious, so elegant. The outdoor sitting, outdoor shower, the warm commodes, the temperature controlled water kettle, every detail was special.

The evenings were so beautiful with the diffused lights all over the walls, in the domes. The reflection of the lights in the swimming pool highlighted the arches & looked extremely attractive.

All the meals were delicious with very good quality ingredients. The staff has been so courteous, they have been trained very well. We had our meals at al the possible locations & each was better than the other. The all day restaurant, the observatory, the private dining beside the poolside, the central seating in the courtyard outside the restaurant all these locations truly charmed all our five senses with the perfect cold, cool breeze, light sunshine & some lightning & showers too.

The spa is also beautiful. We were all remembering our old ancestral homes, the same character has been maintained.

In the evening we also went to the Chauth mata temple which is just a 10 min drive from the hotel. Then we climbed appx 250 steps. The temple has its history 600 years back. Till date there is a huge crowd every Chauth.

All in all we had an amazing stay.

The hotel is built very well with luxury materials being used on everything . Going from the rooms , the washrooms and the public areas
But , there are a few drawbacks …
The staff is kind of undertrained and the attention to detail is not seen as seen in other properties of the same segment that is Oberoi and Aman from where we moved here
It’s the smallest things that justify such exorbitant prices .
The heater in the room had an issue and an oil heater was being kept . The whole night there was a lot of noise from trucks , trains and the village just below the room , which is again not expected if you are paying about a lac per night .
The restaurant ambience and the food was up to the mark but again they fall short on the service .
There was not a single moment that was perfect . The small flaws make this beautiful and huge property substandard. Special mention to our gem Rohit who was more than help to us !

No garish decorations , outlandish interiors ..every part of this place is done in a seasoned subtle taste . Rooms are spacious ...very comfortable with chique quirky fittings . All the areas are of a grand scale . Enjoyed my stay ! There is a young vibe to this place . Easy , comfortable relaxed ....far suitable than thick necked formal properties!

I stayed in a room that faced a village . It was supercool to watch village woman cooking on their rooftops using those earthen stoves in 2021!
