If I were to have an option I would rate Cranganor 10 out of 5 . Its that good . We recently stayed at this gorgeous property for 2 nights and what can I say? There are two aspects to this beautiul place about which I will be talking .. One - the staff and Two - the property Let me begin with the staff .Starting from the time of arrival to the time of departure , the staff takes such good care of you and pampers you without being intrusive that you don't feel like leaving the place. Initially we had booked a pool side villa just so we could keep an eye on our two kids right from the verandah of the villa . Unfortunately the pool was supposed to be cleaned on the first day and was unusable . But to our pleasant surprise , we were upgraded to a villa with a bathtub just so my daughter would not get disappointed .The next day of course we were able to use the beautiful pool. The standard now on and now off smile on the face that we so often encounter in the regular 5 star hotels staff in the cities is replaced with a genuine broad smile on the Cranganor staff's face that warms your heart. I would like to especially mention Justin , Aashik and Sofia and two kitchen and housekeeping staff whose names I do not know , who took care of every small need , like when we wanted to purchase some local spices (it was procured for us ) or when we wanted to visit a local handmade soap factory ( it was arranged ). As to the beauty of the place I think photographs will not do justice to it .One has to visit the place to experience it . The broad river with flowing water and the fishermen going about on their boats , the various birds , the trees in the property , the lush lawn , one can go on and on . The villas also have been constructed in such a way that they are all interconnected to each other by a redoxide flooring broad strip which leads from the reception area .There are just 7 villas . 5 on the ground floor and 2 on the first floor and all of them face the river. Our kids never wanted to leave the resort during the entire stay which was a big surprise for us as we have never seen them to be interested in resorts like this. For us that spoke volumes about this laid back small beautiful resort with big hearted staff. Looking forward to our next trip .…

Such a beautiful property made even more special by the hospitality by Justin and Jeeva, thier staff. Always courteous, always willing to help. So beautifully mainted. Very tasty food. The swimming pool with the Periyar river front is the main attraction.

Came with my wife to Cranganor after seeing the TripAdvisor ratings. Could not have made a better choice. Cranganor is a perfect idyllic retreat with a very well curated set of experiences including kayaking, ayurvedic massages, biking, river cruises and more. It’s location is possibly the best you’d find in Kerala. The food is spectacular and the staff is incredibly attentive and look after your every need (special mention: Justin, Jeevan, and all the best wonderful folk at Cranganor). Pro tip: Have the ginger coffee and borrow a book from the library (a very eclectic collection from David Aaker to Amitav Ghosh) and plan an afternoon reading on the hammock by the river. Follow it up with a massage. All in all, a superlative experience.
