We were very pleasantly surprised by our stay during the Easter holidays 2024: The Hotel Jaz Makadi Star & Spa impressed with outstanding service and hygiene and always excellent food! Brilliant hotel, in the middle of an excellent resort.
The hotel has plenty to offer: - two (baby and main) pool which are cleaned every night
- plenty of choices of food. You can try Egyptian cuisine if you want, but also try cuisine from around the world. There is also home favourites if that’s what you fancy. Food was always good. The staff in the catering part were also exceptional.
- rooms are cleaned every day, with plenty of water provided free. The cleaners are meticulous.
- A brilliant animation team who provide day entertainment such as water polo, aqua gym and a range of games. But also provide a varied evening entertainment. They are very respectful of your wishes, so if you just like to read by the pool, they won’t keep bothering you! But keep you informed of what they are offering. They are all so kind and lovely to speak to.
- the bar staff keep you refreshed all day long and really care about you. Making sure you have enough water throughout the day.
The resort:
- the hotel has its own section of the beach. The beach is lovely and you have drinks and lunch service there. There’s also a coral reef which you can explore.

We told them in the morning about 10am and by 5pm, the room had a new AC unit with no evidence or mess that they had done anything. They also made sure to check with us that everything was ok.

The hotel is small but nice and has a very clean and well-maintained complex. There is also a lobby bar, pool bar and a main restaurant as well as an Italian a la carte restaurant where you can dine. A particular highlight of the Jaz hotel chain is that you can walk through all the hotels without barriers and, for example, watch the shows in the evening and much more. Drinks and food are of course only available in the hotel where you are an official guest.
The rooms are very clean and nicely decorated. The room has a minibar, and the soft drinks in it are free. The room boy Ahmed from our room 308 was very friendly to us every day. When we arrived, the shower head attachment was loose. We wanted to report the problem to reception in the evening, but Ahmed was quicker and had it repaired beforehand. Every day he also made little animals out of towels, which was always nice to watch. The hotel also provides a beach bag with beach towels, which are exchanged in the evening by the room boys if you hang the bag on the knob in front of the room door after the pool or beach.
It takes about 7-8 minutes from the hotel to get to the beach. There is a beach bar on the beach and a private beach area for guests of the Jaz Makadi Star & Spa hotel. Unfortunately, the lifeguard Ahmed only works for tips if you don't give him one in the morning. In return for putting the towels on your lounger, you don't get cold refreshing towels or sweets that he hands out from time to time. These are only given to guests who give him tips.
Beach bar:

The rooms were really clean, and the cleaning staff did a great job. Even items lying on the floor were neatly folded and tidied up – a really great service that made your stay enjoyable.
The location of the hotel is convenient: It is located between other resorts, which means short distances to everything. Especially the short walk to the beach was a plus.
The service was impressive. The staff was always on hand when you needed anything and made us feel like we were well looked after. As soon as the jar was empty, they asked for the next order – really attentive.
The food was varied and surprised. I've eaten in some good restaurants before, and the hotel could really keep up with that. Every day there were different dishes at meals, and the choice never got boring.
The entertainment in the evening was pleasant: a new show every day, live music or dance performances at the pool bar. Everything seemed honest and authentic without being put on.

The whole hotel experience was brilliant. The staff were so friendly and helpful, they remembered us each day. The service was amazing. The selection of food at the buffet as well as the pool bar and beach bar was first class. There were always staff cleaning, tending to the grounds, and offering us drinks. Our room was ground floor and we had sunbeds outside which was really handy as a lot of people did reserve beds with their towels. There was always room at the beach though and the private sectioned beach area was perfect. Not to mention the coral reefs! Definitely snorkel as there are loads of colourful fish and it’s really easy and feels safe, with several shallow places you could even walk. I would recommend walking along the beach as you are likely to see sting rays and even some dolphins.

Amazing hospitality, staff were incredibly hard working and attentive, food is delicious with huge number of choices.
We travelled with EasyJet Holidays, process from airport to check in was seamless. The hotel is spotlessly clean inside and out, serving staff always around to supply drinks (which are very good, including the coffee). Room is spacious and comfortable, we had ground floor garden view room with nice terrace. Rooms were cleaned daily and towels, including beach towels were changed daily. Beds are comfortable and multiple pillows provided. Minibar is well stocked and non alcoholic beverages are included in the all inclusive package. Meals are fantastic with great attention to detail, pool bar is more like sit down restaurant with good options and very good food. Pool is clean and good size, gardens are serene and beautiful. Animation team were brilliant, kept the kids greatly entertained- my daughter was in tears when we left. Overall fantastic stay, can’t wait to go again. Just note that if you book with EasyJet, you have to pay for access to the water park in Makadi as this is not included in their package.

Our stay at the hotel was incredible and exceeded our expectations. The quality of the food, the staff, and the internet was outstanding. The Wi-Fi coverage extended throughout the entire complex, including the beach and water park, and we never had any issues with connectivity. The staff were consistently cordial, always smiling and friendly.
The hotel itself was beautiful, with all areas meticulously maintained. Our room was spotless, the food was beautifully presented and delicious, and the Ă la carte restaurants we dined at offered exceptional service.
The only suggestion we have for improvement would be on the beach area. The umbrellas are very large and fixed, which makes it nearly impossible to get direct sun on the beach during the day. If we wanted sun, we couldn’t stay on the beach because the whole area is filled with these large, immovable umbrellas. This is the only aspect we’d recommend adjusting for an even better experience.
I would like to commend Mina, the front office manager, for his outstanding service during our stay. Mina went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable. Every day, he took the time to call our room to ensure everything was going well. On our final day, we encountered issues with our transportation to the airport, with drivers canceling at the last minute. Mina stepped in immediately, arranging a solution that ensured we arrived on time without any further problems. His attentiveness and warm hospitality truly made a difference, and we are grateful for his support. Thank you, Mina, for making our stay exceptional!

We stayed at this excellent hotel for one week in August with 4 adults and 4 children. We had one suite with a pool and two family rooms.
Let me start with the check in process, it’s where everything started. Ahmed from the front desk greeted us, asked us politely to take a seat while they prepare everything for us. He was very professional and comforting and told us that if we needed anything we should let him know. He followed through with that promise multiple times when we needed something, wonderful guy:
The family rooms were great, the suite with the pool was obviously even better. Housekeeping did a great job and everyday surprised us with some towels in forms of various animals. Whenever we needed the room to be made up later during the day they were done promptly.
The programs at the hotel were great too, we took part primarily in the programs at night time and they were great. Music, shoes and drinks were great for all ages.
The food in this hotel was excellent, we stayed one week prior in Hurghada at the Steigenberger Aldau and that was nothing close to the quality at the Makadi Star & Spa. This is true for the food at the hotel pool bar, beach bar, breakfast, lunch and specialty restaurants at the hotel. We ventured one time to another hotel in Makadi that was part of all inclusive option, it was not bad but we should have stayed at the buffet dinner at the hotel, would have been better for sure. At the dinner buffet they had great grill options outside and inside they had so many other great treats.
The beach here is by far superior to the one in Hurghada at the Steigenberger Aldau, we could swim to the coral reefs and go snorkeling with small fish.
There is also the water park that is an extra charge and is worth one of the days during the stay, kids and adults will love it both.
The service at the hotel restaurants, housekeeping, front desk, etc.. was always excellent. I suggest everyone to visit this hotel and make sure you take good care of the staff as well, they really go above and beyond the expected.
