The hotel certainly could be updated but it's a great value if you consider the terrific location and the TREMENDOUS staff (which will be the focus of my review as they make a real difference). The staff can't do enough for guests....and they are super sincere in their efforts. A special shout out goes to Lamont (Chef) and Nelson (Sous Chef)....very professional but very caring about making sure guests are happy. Along with their hard working staff, they don't just say "hello" as they walk by you....they actually engage you and see how they might add to your experience. They obviously work hard at crafting their food offerings but they go so far and above that to help guests....it truly makes a difference in your overall experience. Bravo to Lamont, Nelson, their team and the housekeeping staff who are also quite visible and provide a clean room. Don't overlook this hotel if you like the location and find some value....the staff will make you glad you chose it.…
Pleasant check in experience and the room was spacious, clean and up to date. All fixtures worked. Given the hot weather I appreciated receiving bottled water (and cookies!) at check in. Modern decor and presence of real glasses by the ice bucket made me feel like I was in a regular Marriott rather than the Courtyard tier. Tip: bring your own lotion as they only have pump bottles of body wash, shampoo and conditioner, and 2 bars of soap. Tip: Jitney for 2.50 stops at the corner. Driver should be able to give change for small bills. They come every 10 minutes but allow extra time if going to the Borgata for an evening show. Three jitneys passed by full before I was able to get one.
The Courtyard entrance was inviting and the staff friendly upon check-in. I would advise paying the $15 / night parking fee as there is minimal parking nearby. The other thing that is minimal nearby are restaurants, shopping or pleasant views. While you can walk the ~1 mile to shopping near the convention center and a couple of chain food places (Applebee's, McDonald's, Starbucks) it is not a pleasant viewing walk, having to navigate the homeless people. The room was nice and quiet, but the "Market" was pretty bare boned and the front desk said it had been "filled". So if you're looking for a late night chocolate snack, buy it somewhere else beforehand.
Hotel is very clean & organized. The front desk staff is very nice. Housekeeping did a great job too. Unfortunately The area around it is very seedy so you must be very careful walking . It is beach block but at the long end of the street . There is an adjacent parking lot for $15 day but it gets filled up quickly at night. We Took Uber at night so we wouldn't have to risk looking for a spot & for extra safety not to have to walk through the parking lot to hotel .
Checked in on Friday July 1 for an overnight to meet my daughter. Front desk was very nice. They informed me $15 for a parking spot which was fine, but very important I show the tag display. Went to the room, wallpaper peeling in the bathroom and sleeping area, carpet pulling away from the wall too. Left to go to dinner, when we came back, no spots in the lot, people parked illegally in any available parcel they can, and most cars had no tag on them (from the hotel). Forced to park in Resorts next door, and the hotel would not rebate my money. Was told eventually someone would move their car. Woke up the next morning to take a shower, didn't notice until now, but there was NO SHOWER CURTAIN. At this point I didn't care, as the bathroom floor was filled with water by time I was done. Am a Titanium Marriott member, and this is honestly the first negative review I have given them. Would not stay there even if only hotel left in Atlantic City.…
We stayed here for 3 nights while in town. The location is walkable to the boardwalk and the property is in decent shape. It is a bit worn with stained and bleached rugs and needing some repairs. The staff were very friendly. We would stay here again. I was a bit surprised that this is the first hotel I ever stayed at that doesn't offer coffee in the lobby for free. Other than that, no complaints.
This was a first time visit to Atlantic City for work. The hotel is about a long block to the boardwalk area. The neighborhood is a bit run down but I didn’t feel unsafe walking alone to and from the boardwalk. Parking is available on site. Friendly front desk and service staff. The room was standard. The hotel is a bit on the older end of things so it’s not shiny but clean. The carpet in my room was heavily stained which was a little off putting. Everything in the room was functional. Plenty of outlets, tv worked well, they even had the Remote in a sealed bag. Plenty of bathroom amenities - with some extra antibacterial wipes, and sufficient towels. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The thermostat worked well in the room. The room and hotel overall were fairly quiet compared to other hotels I have stayed. I was near the elevator and never once heard anyone coming to the floor. I didn’t see much option for food other than going out or the packaged snacks near the front desk. There is a restaurant across the street plus you can walk to the boardwalk or Uber around the city for various restaurant experiences. Special acknowledgment to Pauline and her team in room services. She was great with helping try and locate a lost item.…
This is the second time staying here since about 8-10 years ago. Not much has changed other than you now park your own car ($10/day). The room was a decent size and the view was not great however you are just one long block away from the boardwalk and Resorts hotel and casino. What I Liked: - Self-parking right behind the hotel - My Titanium status allowed me to check out between 2:00pm – 2:30pm - They have USB plugs at the night stand What I Did Not Like: - The Bistro was not operational - I had to have my room keys reprogrammed and one did not work requiring another visit to the front desk - Poor lighting at the desk - No pen, note pad, hand lotion, creamers or sugar provided - Poor lighting in the bathroom even though there is a 10x mirror - The bathroom vanity was the highest one I have ever seen. Way too high. - When you get off the 9th floor elevator there is a large bleach stain on the carpet. Makes you wonder if what happened in AC stayed in AC, lol. Although a Courtyard by Marriott in name, it just did not have the feel I have experienced at other Courtyards by Marriott properties. It blends in with the AC area which is not a compliment.…
I booked this hotel to congratulate my granddaughter college graduation, she and her friends was able to check in much earlier(around 1pm)and according to her, received the excellent service from the hotel staffs, they returned home with wonderful memories.
A nice property two blocks from the boardwalk. The restaurants they recommend on their website are good. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. I’d like to recognize Chef Lamont, who knew I needed coffee and Miss Emma who assisted me. This was after I had just completed a 1/2 marathon race and couldn’t find coffee! The front desk team was also very helpful. Room was clean. Only comment is that I deferred room cleaning during our stay but asked for fresh towels. There were two of us so one bath towel wasn’t sufficient. Atlantic City is coming back.
