This was the worse hotel experience ever. Staying here is like paying to stay at a homeless shelter. It's filthy has roaches and just ghetto. There were stains on the floor, couch and sheets. The heat didn't work. The room smelled gross. I tried to tough it out but I just ended up leaving in the middle of the night. I don't even care about getting a refund long as I never have to go back there! This place needs to be shut down.

DO NOT STAY HERE. 1. Burn Holes in towels, fitted sheets 2. Paper towel in air vent 3. Smoke alarm wires hanging out with no smoke detector 4. Plastic bag over another alarm of some type 5. Clogged sink to the point of almost over flowing, 6. Clogged toilet- clogged our 3rd night here 7. Showered in 5 inches of water on my feet due to poor drainage 8. Had to have a man come give us a plunger and he then continued to vacuum out the sink and toilet 9. Front desk deactivated our hotel key cards (definitely on purpose) for what reason? not sure. 5 reserved girls staying in one room, haven’t caused any chaos to workers other than asking for DRAINO everyday to help our clogged drains 10. Asked to reactive our cards and worker knew exactly our room number, without even having to ask us *made us feel super uncomfortable 11. Ceiling falling apart 12. Air conditioning randomly turning off - they are window box air conditioners… only have 1. 13. Stains all over couch, poor mattress for the pull out bed included in the couch. 14. Every crack and corner full of dust 15. Towels are rock hard, not in any way are they in a OKAY condition. 16. Elevators slow. Gross sticky stuff on the floors.

I'm not super boogie but this place should be condemned. It looks like the projects. Elevator was nasty trash, soda cans, and beer bottles in the Elevator. The room was gross, we asked for different room and they said they would upgrade us to a deluxe suite. The room looked like a sleazy whore house.. the sofa was so old the sofa cushions were basically on the floor,, i didn't even want to put my bags down, we couldn't even stay there we just asked for a refund and left AC. If you don't mind mingling with whores, drug addicts, and drug dealers on ur vacation then I still wouldn't suggest this place. I repeat, I know ur thinking it can't be that bad....it is. If ur desperate for a vacation do urself a favor and go to AC on the week day and get cheaper prices. I would sleep in my car before I would ever stay in that place. The Madison should be closed permanently

Stayed here few years ago when it was first reopened and it wasn’t too bad. Obviously the owners have not put any money or thought into it since. They might have renovated the lobby area but that’s it. There was no one in lobby when I entered and people can pretty much come in or out without any security. Doors and area looked dirty. Be prepared to wait awhile for elevator as only one works for 14 floors and it looks like something out of a horror movie. Halls reeked like cigarettes and weed. Room layout is fine with small living area and separate bedroom. However windows are painted shut and air conditioner did not work. Beds were old and sunken in a bit. I was most concerned because I went to use stairs and door was locked which is a disaster waiting to happen if a fire breaks out. Very disappointing. Place could be nice if it had proper management and cleaned up.

I cancelled because when I got there the hotel was not as advertised on the website which was very disappointing, the doors the hotel look like the need to be replaced and cleaned throughly, the guest services agent was very rude!!!! To my sister who was also staying in the hotel as well. When we finally got to check the inside of the room one of the bathrooms was out of order and no explanation was given about why it was out of order and there was no tv in the bedroom the guy at the front desk said we weren’t Guaranteed to have 2 TVs in the suite and bathroom was dirty and the couch looked old and very worn out, one of the beds looked like someone just threw it together and recycled sheets on it meaning it wasn’t change also no bed skirt was on it and the shahs wasn’t on either of the beds! The room looked like a bootleg version of the room advertised. My sisters room was pretty much the same as well she had one of the bathrooms out of order to and only one tv in her suite as well, but her beds looked cleaner and neater than mine not by much though, along with being completely made, with the sashes at least we’re on them with the bedskirts but the bathroom was dirty and the toilet looked rusted on the inside, and their couch looked like it came from a dump! The door in her room also looked like it had been kicked in and it wouldn’t close all the way and not even an iron in both rooms! Not to mention when you stepped into the elevator you felt like you were stepping into a housing project elevator, the paint was chipped and coming off and it was dirty. I had my sister and kids with me for a family vacation and we all were disappointed and let down and we had to find other accommodations due to the misrepresentation of your hotel which cost us a significantly more money seeing as how it was last minute to find accommodations to hold our party of 8, we went from paying 430ish for the 2 nights to 933! That’s 500 extra EACH than what we had budgeted for and not even a sorry for the inconvenience from YOUR so called guest service agent at the front desk! Just attitude! And the creepy lurking person walking around on our floor with the master key whom never introduced himself as a member of the Establishment! But thank god cause mister attitude at the desk gave me the wrong room number anyway, the room he gave me was already occupied, my room was down the hall and around the corner. I think this establishment should be shut down and revamped if possible and have all team members of your staff retrained in customer service, and the elevator checked for led in the paint seeing as how it’s chipping and peeling off! Someone or a poor baby could get sick if their not careful. I feel We should be reimbursed our 500 extra we had to spend seeing as how your hotel caused us to spend the extra money In the first place! I wonder what the Better Business Bureau would think about your establishment.

This place is NASTY AND A DUMP!!!! It should be SHUT DOWN AND CONDEMED!!!!! If I could give negative stars and rate it lower I would. The pictures on Expedia are a total misrepresentation. The whole place was NASTY!!! The whole place smelled like cigarettes and weed. Drug dealers and prostitutes everywhere inside and out. Our Uber driver that took us to our event said "he wouldn't even let his dog stay there" and get out and find somewhere else to stay. We tried but everywhere was booked. When we returned we learned and tried to go to sleep we had no heat. When I asked to move rooms I was told there was NO HEAT IN THE ENTIRE HOTEL!!!! IN FEBRUARY?!?!? I asked for our money back, left and drove back to Philly at 2:00am. NEVER NEVER NEVER STAY HERE!!!! The only positive thing I can say is the gentleman at the front desk was very nice.

For my first visit to AC I wanted something that wasn't "vegasy". I heard the Madison was a landmark building, not covered in neon and booked a room. And that is where the good ended. There is no hotel parking; we had to park in a public lot behind the building next door for $20 per night. The elevator was frightening. Once in the room, there was a horrible noise that turned out to be plumbing problems (I fixed it by putting a wrag in the tank). There was only 1 table light in the sitting room and it was on the same switch as the super bright overhead so you couldn't use it. There were 2 beadroom table lights so there was a break there. The bathroom opened into the sitting room not the bedroom so going in the middle of the night was treacherous because you had to shut the bedroom door before turning on the light or blind your partner. When we arrived there were only 2 bath towels - not mat or wash cloth or hand towels (I asked at the desk and it took over and hour to get them). The black-out curtains were falling off the rod so they didn't keep out the light from the building next door. The complementary "breakfast" was a few cold bagles and empty coffee pots. We had to hunt down someone just to get coffee and we couldn't get to bar because 2 employees were filling up multiple plates. This was an anniversary trip and it was extremely disappointing. I hope no one else has to go through this horrible experience.

I first heard about The Madison House back in 1997. Back then, The Madison House was a quaint hotel, connected to the Sands Hotel and Casino, near the boardwalk. When I took my honey (now my wife) for her birthday in 2003, The Madison House is now part of The Sands Hotel and Casino, and was still a beautiful, well functioning hotel. But unfortunately, the Sands, as well as the Madison House, shut down, and they leveled the Sands...But the Madison House was a historical site, so they border up the hotel. But when my wife and I heard that the Madison House reopened as the Madison Hotel, we wanted to stay there and check it out. Enough of the history lesson, here is the story... My wife and I came to this hotel to enjoy the Morris Day/Sheila E Concert @ the Hard Rock Hotel, and to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary as well. And if you read what I wrote about this hotel past, then you caught up. When we arrived at the hotel, the hotel is pretty much a ghost of itself. There were no signs indicating the original name of the hotel (The Madison House), the current name of the hotel (Madison Hotel Boardwalk, Atlantic City), or the ACTUALLY name of the hotel (Baymont Inn and Suites by Wyndham @ The Madison Hotel). Unless you know the address, you don’t know if you are there. The area itself is a shell of what it use to be. It feels that the area is on the seedy side, but that’s because the old Sands parking lot next to the hotel is boarded up, and an open lot across the street from the hotel. There is a parking lot, but it’s NOT run by the hotel. Where you enter to get to the parking, there is no lightning anywhere, and you do have to pay. Once you enter the hotel, it is pretty decent lobby. Their is a person at the front, which is a 24 hour desk. Check in starts at 4pm. The room are okay. There is no safe. Some of the rooms are big. Our first room had stains on the bathroom toilet, a missing cover on the ironing board, the sofa is old and worn. We told complain to the front, and He understandingly change our room. Unfortunately, this one smell Smokey. But, out room had a working a/c, updated Television, and a decent king size bed, a working microwave, and a mini fridge in the room. It said it has free WiFi, but I don’t it it has. They say it serves free continental breakfast, but I never check it out. I REALLY didn’t have a bad experience here, but I don’t think we will be back here until they improve it in some way. It is not a great hotel, but it is not a bad hotel either. It is not far from the Boardwalk, and other attractions. But it is far away from a store if you are mobile enabled. If you are budget conscious, maybe this hotel has what you are looking for. Just be cautious and be smart.
