Only a few minutes walk from the metro station (Exit C). Reception staff were polite and professional. We booked the superior room but got upgraded to an ocean view room which was very nice! The room we stayed in had a both tub which I love! Everything was clean and the toiletries were good quality; they even had hair conditioner which some hotels don’t provide. Big room and the bathroom had sliding doors which you could keep open to make the room look bigger. Swam in both outdoor and indoor pools; didn’t like that we had to wear a swimming cap which we had to buy from a shop near the outdoor pool. Hotel provides a frequent shuttle direct to Intercontinental Hotel’s private beach which was a lovely bonus; didn’t have to go to the crowded public beach. Lots of choice at the inclusive breakfast. All in all, we loved our stay here as it’s in a nice chilled out area right by the sea. Would stay here again!

The hotel has a relatively nice environment near the beach. Its advantage is all the rooms have a balcony. It is quite nice to have sun and can hang your clothes outdoors. The bad thing about this hotel is the staff. They are poorly trained and they don't speak English. We have a terrible complaint in this hotel because they did the room construction downstair without notifying us. The noise disturbed us during the day and we called the front desk but nobody cared. There was a disaster for calls and complaints during the day. So finally, they tried to compensate us by discounting the room rate for the day. I don't understand why they can't react better to the situation by only trying to compensate for the consequences. Honestly, I can imagine how can a hotel can be destroyed by its customer service. China still needs to work on its soft skills such as customer service training. Secondly, English is not widely used and trained in China, my husband is very upset about this. I don't know how it can welcome foreigners to travel in China.

Kingkey hotel has nice design and layout, rooms are well equipped and nicely decorated. Restaurants and other facilities as well. This would be a brilliant hotel IF following would be improved:
a) Gym outdated equipment (no tv on treadmills, all obviously fitted out cheaply, more to be able to say they have the facilities than trying to do their best)
b) Restaurants, we dinner at the Japanese restaurant and breakfast at the lobby level buffet restuarant. The Japanese was almost ok, although their beef was obviously a cheap cut. Breakfast was of bad quality, obviously there is someone making significant savings on raw materials. All looked fine, but when tasting the quality of cheap materials is difficult to hide.
c) Tv stations in english are very few, less than you see normally in 5 star hotels in Guangdong nowadays
d) Mini bar, poorly stocked, soda drinks, nothing else, not up to proper 5 star standards. - Not like you see at Shangri Las, Sofitels, etc
e) Indoor swimming pool - very cold and not suitable for children as it is 1,4-1,7 meter deep.

The hotel is located in a nice area, with lots of outlet shops around, so pretty convenient in that sense. Sheraton Dameisha is close and after being there is dont see why i should be paying almost the same price for Kingkey. This hotel simply needs the "touch" it has the facilities, but things need to improve for sure.

I have spent 2 nights in this hotel. Room was fine, comfortable bed, clean room. Staff was kind and speaking English at the lobby. Due to a conference, restaurant was always super full, quality of food was poor, very often empty dishes or missing cups, etc. Wifi was very slow, probably due to many connections. Beach is 5 minutes walking distance.

We live very close to the hotel but we had to stay there during some refurbishment of our flat. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The service is excellent. The breakfast buffet is very good and the buffet for dinner offers a lot of choice and with high quality products. Very nice play to stay, that you are on business or on vacation.

Spent a weekend with my parents to celebrate my mom’s birthday. Room rate is expensive comparing to other 5 stars international brand hotels in China.

Overall: 3/5 - check in lobby is too hot, not all staff are friendly and everything is standard.

Room(Seaview high level-7/F) 3/5 - Seaview is far.... with a road & the beach building in front. Room is big in size but standard as per China 5 stars. I admit that I was spoiled by the space used to have in China.
(Standard twin-3/F) 3/5 - no view at all & not even comfortable to stay at the balcony.

Special service (5/5): help to arrange special decoration for my mom’s room with flowers & “happy Birthday” layout on the bed. A big surprise to mom. Thank You.
Also compliment to conceige staff, very attentive to needs of elders, help to arrange cab etc. Very friendly & warm.

Food (3/5): tried Western, Japanese & Chinese Restaurants. Chinese one is the best. They offer promotion set via their own eshop. Good to join for bargain sales. Breakfast is good, with wide variety of food. Only downside is that food served is lukewarm. They offer good selection of fruits which is great.

Facilities:
outdoor & indoor swimming pool (4/5): Both lifeguards are very friendly & helpful. Both pools are well managed & clean.
Gym (4/5): very quiet & nobody use at night. Well equipped & complete in terms of choices.

Overall, a good weekend spent provided travel time from HK is short (1.5hr), with facilities meeting me & my family needs.

Nice hotel although our room was a bit quirky. A closed toilet and separate shower cubicle but the bath and wash hand basin was open plan. There were sliding doors to give you privacy but not ideal. Breakfast was buffet style and had plenty of choice. Good size indoor and outdoor swimming pools.

I stayed there 3 nights, in a business big bed room. The balcony was facing at the sea and yachts. There was a damp smell in the room. I had to open the door of the balcony to ventilate, but the side effect was the hot air came in too.
Don't put the room card with your mobile, otherwise it would demagnetize the card

Before I visit the hotel, I've read the reviews here and not much expectation for the night. However due to more budget for the trip so I just go for this hotel instead of the nearby Sheraton Hotel.

Once I check in at the hotel, the staff were so friendly and check-in time was fast and even I got an upgrade for the room.

Room is really spacious and no complaint for the room amenities at all. Big bath tube is my favourite.

We took dinner at the Japanese restaurant, quality of food is great. Buffet breakfast at the cafe. Lots of choices and again come to normal buffet breakfast standard.

All in all, this hotel is really out of my expectation. The hotel photos are exactly the same as the room. For improvement, i think they can offer a more strong wifi at room. As i can use it in my bed, but when i go for bathroom side, the wifi network is so weak and even no signal. Maybe one of the reason is the room is too large haha

Highly recommend with discount price for this hotel.

Stayed here for a night during the Easter holiday. The hotel is basically a luxury premises located at the seaside of the far eastern part of Shenzhen. The hotel consists of two buildings, Block A and Block B, both of them are single-aspect facing the sea with the same deluxe decorations. The room is clean and spacious. There are separated bath and shower areas, and each room has its own balcony.

Buffet breakfast is served at the ground floor Palace Café. There are many choices, both western and Chinese dishes. For lunch and dinner, there is a 15% discount coupon for the western and Japanese restaurants in your room. But this coupon is not valid for set meals and some selected food. It is better to ask before you order.

The spa and massage centre is located in the basement. When I tried to use it, I was told that their credit card machine was broken and the bill could not be charged to the room. They would only accept cash. This was quite frustrating.

There is a garden and some small lakes located next to the hotel. The beach is also 2 minutes across the road. There are also a lot of restaurants offering good local food nearby. Given the promotional offers, I would recommend this hotel to others.
