I would not recommend this place for inexperienced travellers. In terms of neighbourhood, budget, overall functionality; sure - go for it. But, expect slow wifi, OK breakfast buffet (no "western" food), and two elevators that take their own time. Very little English spoken by staff. For a few dollars more and maybe a bit of legwork, there are better options in Nanshan district.
Hotel is Ok but staff cannot understand english. If you are chinese then its ok otherwise it is very difficult to make them understand. Location of hotel is good. you can find everything nearby that area.
I stayed here this past week for one night. I usually visit Shenzhen two to three times per year and stay here because the price is reasonable; the room is clean; the location is close to the site I need to visit; he breakfast is adequate and the staff are pleasant. Note--very little spoken English service is available.
The location was situated 30mins by foot from my office, there are a few restaurants available around the area and you can get Starbucks around the corner. The hotel had a setback in the availability of lifts as there are only 2. The breakfast choice is limited with congee, fried noodles, bread and dumplings available. There's a guest bed available in the smaller room. Free wifi available but speed is limited. No creamer or sugar provided for tea in the rooms.
I was here on business for three months. I stayed in a suite with a kitchenette. The room was decent sized with a living room area, bedroom, kitchen and a porch/patio. The staff didn't peak much English but they went out of their way to try. Even when I had an issue in my bathroom with the tile wall, they came up with me when they couldn't figure out what I was trying to say. They were apologetic, rectified the issue, offered me compensation, called my Chinese speaking friend to convey their messages, and even made a point to have an English speaker there when I returned form work. It was more than I would get from hotels that do speak my language. I would definitely stay there again.
