Stayed in this DoubleTree property for 2 nights in mid January bexause of a business close by.
I would say I like this hotel more than the other Hilton properties in Shenzhen - (1) they have a commercial gym and so the fitness facilities are great and it opens 24 hours for guests (you need to call the front desk to open the door for you during selected hours); (2) the service provides by the staff in the Executive Lounge is excellent and attentive; (3) it is next to a shopping mall with lots of dining and shopping options.
Nevertheless the hotel is not located in downtown. It is like an hour drive from either the Shenzhen Airport downtown Luohu.

Family trip and booked 3 rooms with the requested same floor. Early arrival at 12 pm and was offered 1 room for early check-in. Buffet lunch at the restaurant and the food & service was good. The restaurant with the kid zone was a good idea. The rest of the 2 rooms were ready after lunch and the kids went to the pool. Spacious and natty room with a comfortable stay. The water pressure and control were unstable, difficult to shower with not enjoyable.

Great place to stay. The staf are exceptionally helpful and the hotel is a great standard. Location is very good with a shopping mall next door. I had a problem with my Credit Card which they helped to fix without an issue. I will return soon

This Doubletree is located directly next to a very busy local mall. If you are ok with very bright lights, a lot of loud music for the aunties dancing in the square into the deep night and a lot of traffic chaos then this is an okay place to stay. On the upside the rooms are quite large, well-designed and staff is friendly, on the downside this hotel charges for Internet access, which other similar hotels in the area do not.

If you have a finely calibrated sense of where the various Hilton brands fall on a scale in the US, you know what to expect at a Doubletree. Throw those expectations out the window when you travel to China.
I spent a night at the Shenzhen Doubletree, on an executive floor (do US Doubletrees even have that? I don't think so), and it was just a notch below the corresponding space in a Hilton in China, as you'd expect. But it was several levels above any Hilton I've stayed at in the US. The room was a luxury accommodation, with a fabulous bathroom (big soaking tub and separate large shower with both handheld and rainforest showerheads).
The several spreads that were put out through the day in the executive lounge were visually stunning as well as delicious. I'm sure food elsewhere in the hotel was great too, but I had my fill of free food in the lounge.

My 2nd stay @ DoubleTree and it was very good. Perfect for my business trip and there are a number of factories in the area. The room is spacious which is good for a longer stay, its clean and everything works! The room staff were friendly and very efficient. Top of the list were the staff in the Club Lounge, they really made an effort to make you feel special. Attentive, polite, efficient, friendly... everything you need. The gym is very well equipped and they have dedicated a large floor area to it. lots of machines, treadmill and very good free weight section. I've stayed at couple of other hotels in the area, but this is the best on balance I've found. I would recommend it if your business is in the area.

I've stayed here a few times and it's generally speaking a good, clean hotel. Food in the buffet restaurant is OK but not always hot, sometimes luke warm. There is a large shopping mall next door with plenty of restaurants although on one occasion it seemed to close earlier than the stated hours.
Room was spacious with good facilities and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel has WiFi but sadly local filtering makes it of limited use to western travellers.
Would stay here again.
