I have traveled to more than 40 countries and stayed in a broad range of hotels, from large corporate chains to small family-run operations. Without hesitation, Viroth’s is the best hotel I have ever experienced.
The hotel is located a short block from the river and about a 5-minute walk from Pub Street. This makes it a perfect, quiet location for visitors like me who want to explore the town but not endure the noise of nighttime partiers.
Photos do not begin to capture just how beautiful the hotel is. It is architecturally stunning and the midcentury modern furnishings are beautiful. The room was nicely decorated without being cluttered, and every corner of the hotel is absolutely spotless. Even our terrace was swept and wiped down daily. The saltwater pool was a refreshing treat after long, sweaty days.
The highlight of the hotel, however, is the staff. Every single staff member was warm, welcoming, helpful, and attentive. Almost all the staff greeted us by name every time they saw us. The small touches add up to a grand experience: private airport transfer, cold wash cloths when coming in from the heat, a spritz of natural mosquito repellent when venturing out, helping with restaurant reservations, remembering our favorite drinks, and more. It is impossible to mention any particular staff member as a standout because they ALL stood out in terms of service and kindness.
The spa was fabulous and I enjoyed one of the best massages I’ve ever had. We also opted to be driven around in their 1926 Rolls Royce for an afternoon shopping trip. Such fun! And they have selected a great choice of quality galleries and stores to visit.
Finally, I want to applaud the food served at the restaurant. Apart from breakfast, we rarely eat at hotel restaurants. However, we found Viroth’s food to be better than all but one of the restaurants we went to. (That restaurant was Chandry which was recommended by the hotel.) We enjoyed several outstanding dinners at the hotel—al fresco with impeccable service. In terms of breakfast, Viroth’s has turned the breakfast buffet upside down. Guests are given a menu from which they make their selections (no limit) and each plate is beautifully composed and served by staff. It was so lovely not to be elbowed by other guests at buffet tables and to eat fresh made-to-order food.
We loved Siem Reap, but we loved Viroth’s even more. We are tempted to return to Siem Reap just for the opportunity to stay at Viroth’s again.

Having worked in hotel hospitality for several years, I can happily say this is the very best hotel I have ever stayed in. I genuinely believe that all hotels should send staff here to see the service provided and what they could and should aspire to.
We were holidaying across Cambodia & Vietnam and had an all-too-short 4-night stay here at Viroths. The staff are the heart and soul of this wonderful hotel and whilst I am very sorry to say I cannot recall names now, they certainly will remember your name and will do anything they can for you. From check-in to check-out we felt thoroughly well looked after. It was my partner's birthday during our holiday and I arranged a vintage car pick up from the airport and they also kindly dropped us back in another vintage car so we got to arrive and leave in style. They also made a cake and sang Happy Birthday at breakfast, which was a really nice surprise for him. They can arrange all sorts of trips and will personalise to whatever you require.
Rooms are spacious and cool, and ours had a lovely big balcony over the pool area. Beds are super comfy with plenty of space in the bathroom too. We were deeply impressed with housekeeping, who somehow knew when you'd left the room, even for 40 minutes at breakfast, and snuck in like little magic ninjas to make up the bed, towels etc.
Breakfast is delicious and they will make to order from a menu of various items so you can select what you'd like. I can highly recommend the local noodle soups. We ate out in the evenings and I hope the hotel won't mind me also highly recommending the Chanrey Tree just across the river and Haven for two utterly delicious Cambodian restaurants. Again, they will happily assist with any restaurant bookings. The main part of town is only a 5-minute walk away with plenty of shops if you need anything close by.
We were always personally welcomed back at any time of day with a cool towel and sometimes a drink. In the evenings they will douse you in a natural mosquito spray and although we did get bitten a couple of times, we didn't really notice any bugs at all.
Thank you to all the team at Viroths - your hotel made our trip and we were super sad to leave. Although we only saw a very small part of it, Cambodia is an amazing country with amazing friendly people - we will definitely be back and won't consider staying anywhere else! Sonia & Simon

I stayed here for four nights with my friend. It takes a lot for me to give a 5 star review and this hotel definitely earned it. Mainly because the staff that works here is incredible and that is an understatement. From the moment we arrived, the lovely people working here took such great care of us. I’ve never met people who are so respectful and kind. They went out of their way at every opportunity to make sure our experience was exceptional. They work so hard and value customer experience above all else. We also very much enjoyed the food offering at the hotel. I especially the breakfast was amazing. What sets it apart is the a la carte, restaurant style atmosphere instead of a normal hotel buffet, self-serve breakfast. They had a large menu of food options and it was all excellent in quality. They take time to make sure the presentation and quality of the food is great. The bar snacks and drinks were very high quality and presented feel nicely. I also like that they use the metal straws instead of the paper ones that break down after a few minutes. I also value cleanliness very highly when I visit a hotel and Viroth hotel was always very clean. The pool and pool area was always spotless and they put a lot of work to make sure the room is perfectly clean every day. Usually they would check it even twice per day. If I had to give suggestions for improvement, it would be that the room took a very long time to cool down to when we would turn on the A/C. I would usually go to bed quite hot and it would take a long time to cool to a comfortable temperature. This is partly due to all the room power and air turning off when you leave the room, but also ineffective cooling system. There were also some times when the WiFi would be a bit slow or not have coverage in certain areas of the room but it was not a problem overall. I would overall highly recommend anyone to stay here and am certain you will enjoy your time at this hotel. Again it’s mainly the incredibly kind and caring staff that makes this such a great option to stay. I couldn’t say thank you enough times to them.

Our daughter told us Viroth’s is the best hotel she has ever stayed at so our expectations were high. They were more than met. The hotel is in a quiet location but within a couple of blocks of a number of good restaurants and 10 minutes walk from the central market. The building is decorated tastefully in traditional decor and artworks. Our bedroom was very well appointed with obvious attention to detail (such as location of power points and even clear lettering on the shampoo and conditioner bottles in the shower). The pool and the poolside bar and restaurant - also used for the a la carte breakfast - are lovely. However, the best thing about the hotel is the staff. We have been to other good hotels with efficient staff, but the friendliness and welcome from the staff here, and their ability to anticipate our needs, are a level above anything we have seen elsewhere. Little things like a cold towelette and the offer of a glass of lemon glass tea each time we returned and mosquito repellent when we left in the evening were delightful touches. Our stay was such a wonderful experience we were sorry to leave after four days.

Stayed at Viroths for 3 nights as part of our honeymoon trip round South East Asia.
Service was impeccable, starting with a pick up from the airport in a vintage car where the driver kindly diverted to the angkor ticket office so we could collect our tickets and not miss the sunrise the next day.
Viroths also organised a tour guide for 2 days with a driver for our Angkor Wat visit. The tour guide was excellent and knowledgeable and the highlight of our whole trip. We did both the small and grand circuit with him over two days and learned so much! Would strongly recommend making similar arrangements to anyone looking for the full Angkor experience. The driver arranged by the hotel was also very attentive and kept us supplied with cold bottled water during the daytime heat. Organisation by the hotel was flawless and their suggestion to return for breakfast after seeing the sunrise meant we could partake of their yummy spread.
Food at the hotel was good and they also recommended a great restaurant just a short took took drive away. Rooms were clean and comfortable and the swimming pool was lovely to use after a long days sightseeing. They also spritzed us with mosquito spray on our way out which was a lovely touch.
The only thing that wasn't perfect was the spa. My massage was nice but the lack of soundproofing in the rooms meant you could hear a lot of noise from the spa reception which wasn't ideal when you want to relax. However the price was reasonable and the massage itself was great.

Where to start! I had high expectations having read about this hotel before our stay and they were definitely met, in fact they were exceeded. From the moment we were picked up at the airport we felt so welcome and so well looked after. It's the staff and level of customer service that make this hotel really special. Every member of staff we met was so friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make our stay perfect. Our room was great - huge comfy bed, big bathroom, loads of space and a small balcony. The pool area was also lovely although it did get quite busy in the afternoons and there aren't enough loungers for all guests but there are plenty of other lounge / bar areas to relax too. Breakfast was delicious (a la carte) and started early so we could eat before going to the temples first thing. We had a few lunches and many drinks at the hotel too, all of which were delicious! Such a varied menu. I had 2 massages at the spa, both of which were absolutely wonderful. The hotel also organised our tuk tuk driver for the temples who was very friendly and a great guide. As we have been to Siem Reap a few times before, we had a quite a specific temple itinerary in mind which was no problem at all - everyone was very accommodating. Location is great. On a fairly quiet side street, and an easy 5-10 mins walk or a quick tuk tuk from most bars / restaurants. All in all, I would highly highly recommend this hotel. We were so sad to leave and hope to be back one day. Thank you so much to all of the staff who made our stay perfect!

We stayed for a few days at the Viroth, partially through the Khmer new year (which came as a surprise actually. Our primary goal was to visit the Angkor temples and we got the chance to see all the decorations, concerts,...and the water fights on the streets :-))
The hotel is beautifully decorated, very cosy and the pool gives you the impression to be in Miami beach during the 50's.
We particularly loved the restaurant; the cuisine is really delicious as wel as the cocktails.
We also appreciated the central location : you can easily walk to the river and the old market in the evening . We had a few addresses in town however the staff is very helpful, giving you directions, bug spray and welcoming you back with fresh towels.

I used it for solo travel in January 2025. It is a lovely hotel that is very comfortable and safe.
The attention of the staff was very good and we were treated as if we were staying at a luxury Japanese inn. Even my awkward English conversation was always answered with a smile and kindness. The attention to detail was wonderful, as they sprayed me with insect repellent when I left the hotel and gave me a cold dip when I returned to the hotel. Also, from the early morning, when we went sightseeing in Angkor Wat, they let us have breakfast so we could eat outside. Breakfast in the hotel is also available on order, so you can eat whatever you like. Bread, omelettes and pho were very good.
They can also arrange airport to hotel transfers (it takes more than an hour by car from the airport to the center of Siem Reap, where the hotel is located, after 45 USD each way) and Angkor Wat sightseeing (such as arranging a tuk tuk or guide), so you can travel with confidence.
It was the best hotel I've ever stayed in. If you are going to Siem Reap, this is the hotel you should definitely stay in.

From the moment the two of us arrived at Viroth we were very glad we chose this hotel and have no hesitation in recommending.
The hotel is located in the city close to markets, restaurants and shops. It’s located down a road with little traffic compared to other roads close by.
The rooms are nicely laid out and the main area of the hotel where the restaurant and pool is located is well furnished and beautiful. For the pool there was always enough beds for everyone and was quiet and peaceful. The housekeeping looking after the rooms came in twice a day and made sure the room was welcoming and water provided each time.
Breakfast was lovely with a great selection of items that you could pick from the menu. Very attentive staff and they were happy to offer more once finished and top up drinks etc.
Gym was satisfactory for the amount of rooms. I didn’t go to either the on site restaurant for dinner or the spa but both looked incredible and others in the hotel commented on how good they were.
With any questions and recommendations the staff always went above and beyond on what I expected of them.
Thank you for a perfect stay and we hope we get a chance to come back to your great hotel. You made our trip to Cambodia ❤️

From the moment you arrive till you leave this hotel manages to make everyone feel very special and extremely well looked after. It’s almost the little touches that make the difference- cold towels when you arrive back from a days sightseeing to the mosquitoe spray being offered when you go out in the evening. The hotel decor is beautiful- pieces of art throughout the main hotel areas as well as in the bedrooms. Our room was light and extremely spacious with a leafy terrace. Completely peaceful- comfortable beds with an invisible housekeeping service. We are in the restaurant a couple of times and the food was first class. Breakfast was Ali really well provided for in a relaxed manner. Sitting and swimming by the pool was very relaxing. One of those hotels where you would like to stay forevever! The staff were first class.

Please check directly with this phenomenal hotel! They know their rooms best. This hotel is best ever. See my reviews. Their rooms, their rooms, their service, style, quality, attention… all 5++ star!
I was travelling with my daughter. Our room was big with a king bed. Im not sure if they have such room configurations. The hotel is amazing and i am sure they will accomodate your requests if they can.
Just call reception. I think the spa closes late They had no problem booking us in at 9pm and not rushing us . Excellent massages after a day sightseeing.
