We love our stay at chronicles residence & spa. The room was elegant, staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was super comfortable. The cocktails were delicious. 7 nights stay seems way too short. Will definitely be back ❤️

My two-night stay at Chronicle Residence and Spa was nothing but a disappointment. Not only was the hot water shower abnormal regularly, hotel staffs could not bring shower gel and towels on request. The Wi-Fi connection was poor if not disconnected entirely. Hotel staffs lacked the sufficient English skills to meet our demands and requests. Surprisingly, the hotel couldn't serve lunch because the chef wasn't in town. The hotel tuk tuk even forgot our pick-up time and left us waiting in the pouring rain for half an hour. Unacceptable!

Me and my partner have just checked out of this hotel, we have been travelling around Asia for the past 6 weeks and have to say this hotel has the worst organisation / service we have come across yet. Don’t get me wrong, the room is probably one of the most impressive we have stayed in, it’s also lovely and clean, but I would rather have stayed in a very standard room and had better hotel service / organisation!! However on this point the water in the bathtub is yellow and the shower water smells of metal. After an evening flight from Vietnam we checked in at 8pm. We were pretty hungry so looked at the room service menu and asked reception if we could order some food (as it was advertised as 24 hour service). However, we were told we couldn’t order anything because it shut at 8pm...why advertise it as 24 hour room service if it’s not?! Putting last nights problem behind us, on our first morning we arrived at breakfast to be told there was no milk - so cereal and coffee etc was not on offer. We then headed down to the pool, which from the pics looked amazing...however it was full of bugs, leaves, etc and clearly hadn’t been cleaned out in a while. We then proceeded to order some lunch, to which we were told only meals with beef in were on offer. So about 20% of the menu. The tuc tuc tour the next day to the Angkor Wat temples was good, the driver waited for us at each temple. We did the sunrise tour in the morning and came back to the hotel - eager for some lunch. I asked if any of the sandwiches or burgers were available to which I was told, “no, only this page” which was soup, salad, starters. Not enough AGAIN! Don’t understand how they advertise a full menu of food but only have produce in for one page?! The reception staff were happy to answer our questions regarding our check out the next day, so we confirmed we needed the car to drop us off for 7am to get our bus to Bangkok. As we kind of knew by this point that the hotel was unorganised we made sure to clarify we definitely needed it for 7am. We arrived at reception in the morning after waiting 30 mins for some cereal upstairs to be told “You told me 10:45am” .... no we did not. So then we had to wait for the driver to get ready, whilst stressing that we were going to miss our bus because they clearly hadn’t woken him up yet. The hotel has so much potential to be good and luxurious, but the staff need to pay more attention to guests, and also they need to order basic food in to meet the guests needs - or scrap the large menu of potential meals and just state what they have in!! I would not stay here again unless improvements were made.

The Best Resort/Hotel and Spa in Siem Reap hands down! Very friendly/helpful/courteous staff. The room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The lobby area was beautiful. The staff were very inviting. The grounds were immaculate! Wonderful restaurant on site with fresh delicious cuisine. Beautiful pool and top of the line spa! Also they have Tuk Tuk service available right at the resort. Exciting experience. Chronicle Residence and Spa is wonderful and I would highly recommend them. I will be going back! So the “Going above and Beyond”.... they provide service to and from the airport. Leaving the hotel, I had a very comfortable ride to the airport. At the airport is were the mishap happened. I left my phone at the gate rushing!!! I didn’t realize I had left it until the plane took off. I was devastated! My life is on my phone. Long story short, I contacted the airport and luckily someone turned my phone in! Downside the lost and found said they could not ship it to me, they asked did I have any friends there in Siem Reap....Fortunately I did!!!! The staff at Chronicle Residence and Spa!!! I reached out to them and they responded right away. They went above and beyond to help me retrieve my phone. The staff contacted the hotel owner and he went out of his way...went to the airport...got my phone and mailed it to me! I received my phone yesterday!!!!! I’m am so lucky and very thankful!!! Thank you so much!!! I highly recommend staying at the Chronicle Residence and Spa in Siem Reap, Cambodia. They are the best!

My recent stay at Chronicle Residence & Spa was superb. The room was really clean , nicely decorated and it was so comfortable. The greatest thing was the view it was really nice and you can see it from your windows to the swimming pool. At the front desk you can see the staff members they always greet you with nice and welcoming smile. Plus they are so friendly and they provide really good room services. And the foods are pretty good as well. I would highly recommend you to stay at this place. It was a pleasant stay. I can't wait for my next vocation in Siem Reap.

I heard it used to run by Chinese people and that is why it has low level of professional and lack of good customer service, as a last min booking i got the best room and service during my stay in Siem Reap. The room was clean and has all the amenities that i need. I would love to recommend this place to my friends and family. Will be back during my winter vacation

There is tons of potential!! After reading previous reviews we had high expectations. Overall it was a pleasant stay. Positives: free drink daily, friendly staff, beautiful grounds and nice room, transfer back to the airport. Needs improvement: cleanliness of the shower in our room and the grout of the pool. Airport pick up could improve. had to call the hotel to have them come and pick us up even after confirming the day before. Overall we had a pleasant stay. The general manager went above and beyond to teach my husband how to make pork belly the way he had. Thank you

Found the hotel to be badly run, in general needing maintenance and cleaning throughout. Bed comfortable, but didn’t feel the room was well cleaned. Bar area very stark, with no atmosphere. Breakfast not great, eggs benedict was a runny egg on cold bread. Uncooked, processed ‘sausage’, pretty disgusting. Took 20 minutes to check out - to pay the cost of a can of coke. Didn’t eat there, breakfast enough to put us off. Staff friendly enough but not very efficient, didn’t meet a manager there in the 4 days we were there. Could be much better, convenient location, good design, just needs some attention to detail, staff training and management . Stayed at two other similar priced hotels elsewhere in Cambodia, had no complaints, very satisfied with them, so able to have an unbiased comparison.

I had high expectations on the Chronicles Resort & Spa. I had done my research on Cambodia, Siem Reap and Koh Rong Sanloem prior to my trip – it has been quite an awaited summer vacation for me. The room I booked in Siem Reap was a Suite King Bed Room Pool View, room 104. Thus, when I chose Chronicles it was for a reason – for a luxurious and spa oriented (I am Spaista after all) stay for my three day visit to Siem Reap, starting with New Year’s Eve. The room itself was better then expected, and in par with the cost – see pictures. It blew my mind, I loved it. The massage rooms are just 10 meters away, and it is easy to book a massage session; I think I had 4 massages in total during my three day stay with the Chronicles. I loved the fresh fruits that were brought to the room every day, such a lovely gesture and a great mini-meal in the evening after a trip to Angkor or the Phare Circus. Here come the drawbacks though, and alas they are many. Take some of this feedback with certain aspects in mind : Cambodia has just recently gotten into the tourist world, and concepts such as professionality, timeliness etc are not established here in the way we may be used to in the west. Infrastructure, septic systems etc are also underdeveloped as of yet. So to the drawbacks. It started at the Airport – the cab I had asked for (that should pick you up from the airport for free by the hotel) was not there – despite me double checking twice prior to arrival. I had to pay 9 USD to get to the hotel myself, money the hotel never reimbursed me for. It was impossible for me to use the shower, as it could only go from ice cold to boiling hot and get stuck at boiling hot. When I needed a shower, I used the bath which fortunately worked. The massages (tried foot pedicure, Aroma massage and Khmer massage) were fantastic, and I appreciated the free massage included in the price. The massage tables smelled bad however (the head area smelled of sweat), and the lady massaging me at each occasion allowed for small talk with colleagues and phone ringing. Quite unprofessional and it disturbed my moments of calm. Most of the staff where nice and helpful, as one would expect of Khmer culture. The manager however, not so much. It was mentioned by one of the staff that the hotel has recently switched owenership. The reception forgot all of my bookings, making me have to fend for myself when leaving for the Phare circus or Angkor Wat. For the cooking class I had booked one day, they forgot that as well making me miss it (I did not expect them to fail a fourth time, and trusted my cab to be on time). The manager looked annoyed and said ”so what” when I tried to explain that this it truly not an acceptable level of service for a hotel taking ca 200 USD/night. The management is unprofessional and untrustworthy, a shame. I would have given a 5 for the room if it was not for all the issues I had to live with. I can’t recommend this place for more then one night and would advice you, should you choose to stay at the Chronicles, to be prepared to arrange any excursions yourself – don’t rely on the hotel to help you out.
