If you are used to staying in 5-star hotels, this is not the hotel for you. Even though the rooms are large, they are not clean. Buffet breakfast is not available; therefore, you have to order a la carte and are limited in your selection. The fruits served were not fresh. Overall, think twice before you stay at this hotel!!!!!
We had a great time here despite our short stay. All staff members were friendly and provided excellent service. Location was convenient too! We only had to walk a few minutes to the closest Angkor Market. The room itself was nice and spacious -- I also appreciate the sustainability efforts in the toilet as they had a note reminding guests to be mindful of water and towel usage. The pool was well-shaded which made for a pleasant morning swim, even though it wasn't salted as stated in the hotel directory. Overall, this was a wonderful stay and we would definitely recommend it! 8D
A nice hotel. Well kept, large and quiet rooms. Excellent air conditioning. Lovely staff and a superb swimming pool. Close to all amenities. The only downside was the appalling breakfast and associated service. Either a very bad imitation of a western breakfast or "Khmer" dishes which my Khmer wife could not eat. We were ignored when arriving for breakfast and only summoning the reception staff got us attention. Given the number of unemployed hospitality staff at this time it should be easy for management to replace the awful breakfast manager and chefs. A real blight on an otherwise brilliant hotel.
The service here was generally pretty good and the swimming pool is large and a welcome relief from a hard day roaming the fabulous ruins around Siem Reap. We were probably lucky to be there when guests were a bit thin on the ground as Covid19 was already keeping away tourists. Breakfast was nice with a reasonable choice and the room was nice with all required facilities. It was sometimes hard to get service in the bar as staff were a bit thin on the ground at times. I would happily recmmend it however.
Just brilliant from start to finish. Top tip : room on first floor next to the pool is the Biz. Great Staff Mr. CHARLES very helpful and knows all there is to know. Tours are simple to arrange and you’ve got to do Ankor Wat of course. Position is ideal and as I say simply an outstanding stay.
We wanted a special place to stay for the last week of our extended trip to south east Asia. After doing some online research we checked out in person the Somadevi Residence. The manager showed us around and we were impressed enough to agree to stay. I can honestly say this is a fabulous place to stay. The hotel is very modern and has all the facilities expected of a boutique hotel. Nearly all the guests were private travellers, no big tour groups. Fantastic pool and spa. Even though it was hot I still enjoyed my sauna. All the staff are very attentive- could not fault at all. Special thanks to Paul - Food & Beverage Manager, who looked after all our particular needs during our extended breakfasts. Another real advantage of this hotel is the close proximity to the heart of the town, but also very peaceful. Will not forget our stay.…
Throughly enjoyed my stay at Somadevi. The staff were very attentive and they even upgraded my room. They included airport transfers and allowed me to stay in my room until my flight in the afternoon. The hotel is in a great location that isn't super touristy. Had a wonderful stay at Somadevi.
Can not recommend this hotel enough! The hotel is great, the rooms are big, the bed is huge, so clean, breakfast is vast and delicious. The staff is the best, everyone always smiling, happy to help you with anything. We had a prefect stay and I wish I had more days relaxing at the hotel. Will definitely stay there again if coming back to Siem Reap.
A great little hotel with outstanding customer service from the staff. They prepared a breakfast for me so I had some food for my sunrise tour of Angkor Wat and went out of their way to find last-minute tickets to the Phare circus. That being said, guests staying on the right-hand side of the hotel should be aware that the rooms overlook a very noisy high school that had loud, late night events keeping us early-sleepers from getting a good rest.
Situated in the Old French Quarter near the Royal Residence, the Somadevi delivers quality, comfort and service at impeccable levels. Arrange an airport transfer, book your tours of Angkor Wat or the local killing fields memorial, or just relax by the endless pool. The rooms are clean, newly furnished and renovated. The WiFi was strong and fast. The staff bends over backwards to cater to your every need, often anticipating it. Highly recommend!
