Ariving at the Bus-Station of Sieam Reap we were picked up and welcomed with a cold tissue and a fresh coconut.
At the hotel we received a very warm welcome and found a really nice, absolute clean and generous room in a modern spacious hotel, that perfectly combined a modern architecture and interior design with local materials and traditional, khmer influences.
The day starts with an á la carte breakfast, served in the restaurant located in a small, but nevertheless lovely and well maintained garden.
The pool invites to relax from visits to the temples of Angkor, with enough sunbeds. Drinks are served from the restaurant.
For dinner you can either choice to eat at the hotels restaurant or take a free tuk-tuk ride to the cities markets and restaurant area.
After your return to the hotel room, one will find the sheeds turned down and the room service left some bedtime sweets, more a small dessert or some fresh fruit to ensure a tight and well sleep.

Anyways, the most important thing to mention is the kind and lovely staff at any place of the hotel. Housekeeping, lobby and restaurant staff are eager to please all wishes of the guests and always more than tried to make the stay at Shintana Saya Residence a wonderful and relaxious time.

Also after a short-term change of our travel schedule the hotel staff made it possible to return to our room and stay for the rest of the day without any additional charge.
Thank you for yet another example of your great hospitality.

Great hotel positioned between town and temples and only 15 mins from airport.

Free car pick up included fresh coconuts and chilled towels - what a start!

Room was huge and well equipped. Also provided a free bottle of wine and nibbles when we checked in.

David the owner very friendly and helpful. Pool area lovely for cooling off after the temple trekking.

Tuk tuk drivers also excellent esp Mr Roaith and Sin (sorry, probably spelt incorrectly).

Only downside was the mosquitos. There's a lot of lakes in SR so probably the same wherever you go but after 10 days with only two bites, I got bitten about 20 times whilst staying at the hotel and often overnight in the room. Suggest hotel provide burners or mossie spray for the room (as the other hotels we used in Cambodia did) as they were always bussing about in the room :-(

But don't let that put you off!

Boutique hotel with highest level of service. I have traveled to numerous countries and have stayed at some luxurious properties along the way. The level of attention to detail for the property, service and food was unparalleled. To note I am not one to shower with accolades, this is the only 5 star I have given. **** I was traveling with 2 other female friends.

Service began before our arrival when the owner sent personal email offering to pick us up from airport. We were greeted with a sign with our name, ice cold towel, freshly cut coconut water just for our drive to the hotel. Then on arrival we had the most delicious freshly squeezed passion fruit juice, fresh spring rolls and fruit.

and his staff were on hand To assist guest with their every need. Staff arranged a Tuk tuk or comfortable large air conditioned van for each outing at their expense.
We were offered a free meal which we were reluctant initially to try, thinking food would not be good, we were so wrong! food was so amazing we ate the remaining meals at the property. (We tried a fancy French-Cambodian fusion meal out one night)

Some other perks: amazing customized breakfast and coffee, chilled wine bottles and snacks left for us, access to fully loaded refrigerator with drinks. Twice daily cleaning of room and nightly turn down service. Comfortable beds and nice bedding. Plenty of outlets to charge devices. Rain shower with great pressure and lots of hot water.

They also recommended a spa in town called real spa that was new and partnered with the hotel. It modern, beautiful, very clean, best massage of the entire trip.

We enjoyed a biking tour and a private photography tour which we had arranged on our own. The hotel took us to the memorial for the killing fields which was worth a visit.

In summary, would highly recommend this boutique hotel if you want a beautiful, comfortable stay, away from big box chain hotel and with much more attention given to you. Would come back again.

I will get to the point: if you’re reading this review, stop looking and stay here. I am so glad that I did. Property is still new, beautiful and well-maintained. The staff are very well trained and have a very sweet attitude. They know how to take care of their guests here.

The food was beyond our expectations. My room rate included breakfast, which was delicious. It is ala carte, off the menu—not a buffet like many other hotels. We always looked forward to eating it every morning. In fact, all of the food here is exceptional. We stayed for 10 days, and ordered almost all the dishes off of the menu by the end. We were never disappointed. They do the local cuisine very well, and they do western dishes very well as well. The food was really a highlight of the whole state. We would often think about going somewhere else, but we weren’t sure if we will get a good meal. We always had a good meal here. The prices are the same to you would pay in town, but the quality is much higher.

The guides and drivers that the hotel arranged for us were very professional and did a great job as well, especially Mr Pon. They also have tuktuk drivers on the ready for any trips that you would like to take.

The owner of the hotel, Mr David, is very hands-on and pays attention to the smallest details, which in my view has made the hotel the great place that it is. He also takes the time to get to know each guest and make you feel very welcome. We felt very comfortable here and we’re sad to leave.

The rooms are well-equipped, modern with great lighting and amenities including flat screen TVs. The bathtubs are large and very comfortable. The room also feature excellent rainfall shower head and double vanities. The mini bar is included. There is a maid service at least twice per day. Every detail, even down to very comfortable slippers, has been considered by the owner and his staff.

The pool area is peaceful and relaxing. It’s a great place to spend the day if one gets tired of the temples.

This is an excellent property and I cannot recommend it highly enough!

Beautiful small hotel with charming stuff and huge rooms, free transportation from and to the airport with complimentary fresh coconuts. They make the room twice a day and they give you complimentary fresh snacks everyday. Free Tuktuk rides. If you want to be treated like a king just book a room here... I’ll recommend all my friends.

Completely worth for the money!

We had four nights at the Shintana Saya Residence at the beginning of March which was outstanding from start to finish. Free pickup from the airport, the driver greeted us in an air-conditioned car and we were given a complimentary cool towel and fresh coconut followed by drinks and snacks at the hotel.

The hotel was immaculate and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Our bedroom was clean, modern and spacious which we also found a complimentary bottle of wine and cheese and biscuits. Food in the hotel is very good and would highly recommend eating in their restaurant. The hotel offers a complimentary touk touk if you wish to venture out in the evening.

All in all, we loved everything about the Shintana Saya Residence and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Chilled coconuts during airport pickup, welcome drink and dessert, freshly baked sweet potato cake as afternoon snack, all these and more. Just as other reviewers have highlighted, the warm hospitality extended by David and his team is delightful.

We stayed in the family room which provided ample space for our family of 4. WiFi signal in the room was strong. The teens enjoyed one afternoon lazing by the lovely pool. Meals at the restaurant (especially the fish amok) were delicious.

We also utilized their Tuk Tuk for day trips at a flat fee. The driver, Sok, was a cautious and safe driver which is assuring as other Tuk Tuks and cars zipped by, sometimes at high speed. While waiting for their passengers , other Tuk Tuk drivers napped or were on their phones. But we often find Sok attentive and looking out for us as we exit from each temple.

Shintana Saya definitely made our Siem Reap trip memorable. We highly recommend this boutique hotel and hope to be back soon.

What an amazing place to stay in Siem Reap! Our family booked Shintana Saya based on all the amazing reviews and it’s the first time I felt the stay exceeded the reviews.

They picked us up from the airport and provided cold, fresh coconuts to drink and crisp hand towels to freshen up on the ride to the hotel. Once we got there the entire staff was there to greet us and help us get situated. When we got to our room there was an spectacular welcome gift of fresh cut fruits, nuts, a bottle of wine and bottled water and sodas for our kids. We’ve been traveling all over south east Asia and not a single hotel we’ve stayed at has provided such a superb welcome gift like Shintana Saya did. They also provide nightly turn down service which is such a joy when you come into your room after a long day of touring.

They also helped us book a great tour guide and driver for Angkor which was way cheaper than anything we saw online.

The food at the hotel is great tasting and the drinks they make are delicious. Order the pineapple smoothie and you won’t be disappointed.

This place is not only beautiful and tastefully done but the staff and owner David provide the most attentive and comforting service.

If you want to stay at a place that offers first class service and comfort then don’t look anywhere but Shintana Saya. Our entire family loved staying here and would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The owner picks you up at the airport and hands you a freshly opened cocoanut and a straw, then drives you past Angkor Wat to the hotel, where you are welcomed by a contingent of staff, who feed you snacks while handling the check in process. Then you are taken to your room, which has a fully stocked, and complimentary, mini bar along with fresh fruits, cheeses and pastries. All in a clean, modern, beautiful, and generously sized room. The experience here is graciousness lightened by impeccable taste. Located in a non-touristy part of the city, the, again complimentary, cars and auto rickshaws available to take guests downtown (and back) make the mile or so distance a non issue. And the lovely restaurant and pool area invite hanging out. The place is beautiful and the service impeccable. As a solo traveler, I found the level of attention and the scale of the hotel just right. Small enough to be able to meet other guests and be known by the staff, but large enough to have your own space when wanted, and to have all the amenities expected of a well run hotel. Highly recommended.

The entire stay was absolutely amazing. Our stay started with a quick and easy booking via email. Once we arrived in Cambodia we were picked up at the airport and offered fresh coconuts to drink out of. In the room were a chilled bottle of wine, cheese and fruit platters, and desserts. The room itself was big, modern and clean. The bathroom was luxurious with a large soaking tub and walk in shower. We ate dinner at the onsite restaurant where the service was spectacular and food delicious.

The staff was incredibly helpful. We were in Cambodia for a sunrise tour of Angkor Wat and requested a packed breakfast ready for a 4:30 am pickup. They said no problem and it was waiting for us at the front desk when we walked downstairs. They also were able to accommodate a late checkout so that we could shower after our tour.

David and his team are running a fantastic hotel that we highly recommend everyone experience when they visit Siem Reap.
