We stayed at the Shangri-La for 5 nights earlier this month. The location of the hotel is good, in the downtime area, a 15-20 min tax ride to the Dubai Mall / Burj Khalifa area. Next door to the hotel are various shops and restaurants- a mini supermarket, Starbucks, Tm Hortons, Caribou, a pharmacy which are all open 24 hours. There are also some scall cafes which serve local cuisine. The metro stop Financial Centre Station is a 5 mins walk from the hotel. The hotel itself is well kept and has a full service spa whereby hotel guests have use of the facilities. Treatments are also very good and the Therapists go above and beyond to make your spa experience a special one. In addition, there is also a hair salon next to the spa called Amro- there are two separate ones for men and women and both offer full hair and nail services.
The spread at breakfast is vast- Indian (dosa, wada paun, samosas, idli, paratha, poha, curry etc) in addition to the usual continental, middle Eastern and south east Asian- mainly dumplings and a noodle / wok station. They have a small selection of GF options- bread and croissants and cakes which were all very average. The management are extremely hands-on and spoke to us on many occasions to ensure our experience at breakfast was a good one. We had dinner one night at Sheng palace and service was great, the gentleman who served us asked the chef to make as a special vegetarian dinner as the options are slight limited on the menu. Overall, a good hotel in a good location and one that I would not have qualms with staying at on my next trip to Dubai. My only feedback would be that, a lot of other hotels in the area offer a free shuttle to Dubai Mall but the Shangri-La doesn’t and therefore this would definitely be something I would give consideration to when next visiting. Although the hotel is not far from Dubai Mall, traffic and the u-turn required make the journey an expensive one if visiting daily.

Despite being a frequent traveler to Dubai and having some experience trying different hotels, still there are many 5 stars hotels that I need to explore and try. This time, I tried Shangri La Hotel which is located on Sh. Zayed Road. This is my first time in this hotel but tried Shangri La before in different cities. The hotel is located in a strategic walkable area with plenty of shops, restaurants, and cafes and its proximity to Dubai Mall. Check-in was so smooth. I was given a wonderful room on the 30th floor facing Sh. Zayed Road. The room has all the amenities that any traveler needs. Extra-things like shaving kit .. etc can be ordered from the reception. The room was of decent size and very clean. The bed was so comfortable for sleep and the room has excellent sound proof. I barely hear anything from outside. The bathroom was also of reasonable size and very clean. I particularly enjoyed their toiletries. The scent is so fresh. The shower has strong pressure which leaves you fresh. My only issue is that the room has no dedicated USB socket for charging. The breakfast is served at Dunes Cafe in the first floor. It has a variety of options that suits every palate Also this restaurant hosts speciality buffet nights. For seafood lover they have a wonderful buffet on Friday evening. There were suppose to be two restaurants on the second floor but I believe they are under renovation. The first floor has two other restaurants, Chinese (Shang Palace) and Vietnamese (Hoi An) but I didn’t try them. On the same floor there is the Balcony Bar. Their spa and the outdoor pool are located on the 4th floor, while there is another indoor swimming pool in the 43th or 44th floor (I don’t remember now!). Both swimming pools are ordinary and the signs of aging clearly is shown on both facilities. I guess the highlight of my stay was the wonderful staff. The staff were friendly everywhere. I particularly remember Kunga at the reception which did everything possible to make my stay very comfortable from smooth check-in process. She was helping me and other customers with a big smile and genuinely she has a great passion in her work. I remember I tried to log-in to my Shangri-La app but for some reason I couldn’t do that and I needed series of verification without success. I told one of the staff at the reception about this issue and she gave me 1-800 number to dial. However, after 30 minutes I mentioned this issue to Kunga during my check-out process and she managed to call Shangri-La management and within exactly two minutes my app was working again. Overall, nice hotel and I enjoyed every aspect of it. The management has to be proud of their staff. Personally, I like to change hotels when I come to Dubai just to have different experiences each time but definitely this is a place I would love to try again and obviously highly recommend for solo travelers couples and families.

Hotel that met my needs. The Shangri La chain is a guarantee. The hotel is in a very good location, on one of the main streets of Dubai, very close to a metro stop, with which you can reach almost all areas of the city. This allowed us not to always use the taxi. The room, a triple with a view of the Burj Khalifa, was very large despite the sofa bed. In the room we found bottles of water which were regularly replaced. The staff was very attentive and helpful from check in (Sheila, Zireb and Satura) up to the guys at the entrance (Francis very nice). Breakfast ranged from the classic American breakfast to the Arabic one, not forgetting the continental one with desserts, yogurt and an excellent cappuccino which is difficult to find even in Italy. The swimming pool, not very large, has a wonderful view of the Khalifa, and is open until 6pm for minors and until 9pm (if I remember correctly) for adults. In conclusion, it is a hotel that I recommend for its location, to those who want to stay in the center (if Dubai ever had one) to those looking for a luxury hotel without the classic luxury of the Shangri La chain.

We loved the overall experience at Shangri-La Dubai, we stayed at room 3204, the view was amazing and picturesque. We think it will be more amazing if you make your corner view interior more aesthetic, use a better fabric on the foam, better pillow covers and blanket. I went to the spa, had a very relaxing massage and hair treatment but I was disappointed after the hair treatment because I have to wash it myself and dry my hair. I don’t usually shower after massage since the pores are open but I have no choice but to shower so I can wash my hair at the shower room. It would be nice if you have a washing area for the hair and your staff can assist in washing, rinsing and blow dry the hair.

From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional, but if someone truly made a difference, it was Beshoy the concierge. His kindness, attention, and willingness to help were simply unmatched. He made us feel at home from the very first moment. At the restaurant, chefs Satcha and Omo not only delighted us with their incredible talent but were also attentive and thoughtful about every detail. Hosts Melisa and her colleague welcomed us with exceptional hospitality, making each visit even more special. The room was always spotless thanks to Luin and her colleague, providing attentive and careful service. The head of rooms, Assem, ensured everything was perfect during our stay. We also want to highlight the doormen, always kind and attentive, offering impeccable service from the entrance. If I haven’t mentioned everyone, it’s only because I couldn’t remember all the names, but every member of the team made our experience truly amazing. A luxury hotel with a team that truly makes a difference. We will definitely be back!

We stayed in their 2 bed apartment for a week. The apartment is extremely plush and well furnished. A clearly demarcated area for working is available. The MBR is ensuite with huge storage and movement area. The Guest Bed Room is reasonably big but is not ensuite. The kitchen is well equipped with all white goods and a small laundry room takes care of the needs for the stay. A storage room takes care of all the suitcases and knick knacks. Housekeeping and upkeep is remarkable.
The view from the 22nd floor was spectacular, especially at the night when the city lights come alive.One side of the MBR opens to the neighbouring building so the blinds need to be drawn 24*7,which is not very pleasant.
Valet Parking facility makes the Parking woes of Sheikh Zayed Road vanish.
The breakfast at the Dunes Cafe is amazing and has an interesting spread. The buffet Lunch and Dinner are also quite wholesome , though it gets boring after the 4th day due to the sameness. The service quality of Mr Binoy Krishnath Nair was exceptional. Consistent and Genuine attention to guests .
The in house Vietnamese restaurant ( Hoi An) is a delight, and serves amazing Vegetarian dishes as well. The service level here is also very pleasing.
The Lobby Lounge is warm and friendly and is a good spot for a good catch up.
The same cannot be said of the Chinese Restaurant ( Shang Palace) . The service levels are not as expected from a star property and the vegetarian fare was much below expectations.
The property has a spa with a jacuzzi ,steam and sauna and the entire area is well maintained and high levels of hygiene is maintained.

Just simply amazing! This was the first visit to Dubai for my wife and I.After an early start and the flight to Dubai we were ready for bed. The check in process by Saudi was straight forward and informative. The doormen and security guards were helpful with our baggage and located the lifts. Our room was located on the 37th floor and add amazing views all the way to Burj Khalifa across the Dubai city scape. The room was large with all the amenities you could need including a complimentary shoe shine and the most comfortable beds ensured a good nights sleep. When we left our room the next morning we were greeted by our room attendant in the corridor who was warm and friendly and asked us if everything was okay, arranged a room service which was a great time for us (30 minutes later) and he left the room spotless afterwards - thank you! The next morning we had breakfast downstairs at the Dune Cafe and were greeted by Summer who was welcoming and gave us a guide to the breakfast area which was welcome. There was a huge variety of items available all fresh and well displayed. Plenty of cereals, fresh juices, fruit and nuts on offer. We also had the freshly prepared omelette which was simply delicious. There were a variety of other dishes catering to different needs. Summer came over to the table later and chatted for a good 10 minutes, making recommendations where to visit on our short visit to Dubai.She was professional and knowledgeable and we appreciated her taking the time to talk to us. We had afternoon teas and happy hour(s) in the club lounge located on level 41. There was a good variety of foods on offer - the scones at afternoon tea and the chicken spring rolls in the evening hot the spot. Special mention to Derek, Saw and Janeth were went out of their way and made sure we were looked after. We were sad to leave the hotel as on reflection everything went perfectly and can't thank the team enough as we left valued, special and treated like human beings with the professional touch throughout. We will be back!

I am usually not fond of writing a review but these people deserves a good one. All staff are amazingly friendly and attentive. I feel like home. Sheila at the front office gave us an upgrade which means a lot. Mr. Khodarham always greeted us with a smile and he is very pro active. The concierge guy mr Yarn was very helpful in assisting us getting is tickets to places we needed to go. The food at the breakfast is super delish! Selection is wide. I love the gluten free bread options. The staff at breakfast are very welcoming and thoughtful to know our needs and provide it to us without asking for it. Nazifa has a very lovely and caring character. She is always on a lookout if our needs are met. Melissa is lovely to always check on us even if it's busy. Kamilia and Melissa was very caring to ask about my well being since i got a bit sick and the whole breakfast team provided for my food and have it delivered to my room. Sharath the egg maker was very attentive in cooking for me my favorite eggs and his presence is just a breeze of fresh air all the time, very calming and positive. I think being led by a wonderful person such as Pradeep makes this team, the winning team. They work so hard and always with a smile. The room is fantastic. I love the fluffy pillows and the amenities are quality ones. Ms. Mu Yar was spot on service in our room. Very humble and motherly like. I love her so much. The pool is perfect with its cool waters during summer. The views there is amazing. Maria's smile and service was impeccable. The health club was very clean but needs improvement in the equipment like the spin bike but overall great. We will definitely go back and recommend to friends.

The levels of customer service here remain as high as ever and indeed may even have got better since the last visit. From the moment you step out of your car/taxi you are met by Khodarahm the doorman who set the tone for the remainder of your holiday with his jovial and friendly greetings. There are so many people i could mention who go above and beyond to make your time in the hotel special from pool staff to housekeeping. One person who i thought was the real star of the hotel was Keith who works in the Club Lounge who just made our day each time we spoke to him. Its worth paying that little bit more to stay in Club Rooms to get this level of service along with afternoon tea and evening nibbles and drinks. If you are after a beach holiday this hotel will not be for you as its on the Sheikh Zayed Road but if you enjoy exceptional service and being pampered then definitely make Shangri La your next choice if going to Dubai as you will not be disappointed. Its location is also great for the Metro as a station is only a 3 or 4 minute walk away.

Having stayed at Shangri-La hotels in Asia, we decided to make this our home base for our 3-day stopover in Dubai.
We booked a Horizon Premier Room that was located on the Club Level. Hotel is a little dated, but room was large, clean, and everything comfortable. We enjoyed breakfast at the lobby level each morning, and afternoon tea and happy hour at the Horizon lounge each afternoon, as well as room service. The food was good throughout the venues and service excellent. Housekeeping also did a nice job each day making sure our room was tidied and restocked with whatever we needed.
The concierge/doormen were always friendly and we never had to wait very long to get a taxi. Location was a quick taxi ride away from Dubai Mall. Overall a good stay!
