I don’t even know where to start. First the communication was very bad before I arrived. They wanted to charge me $50 for the shuttle to the airport, which I got for $17 somewhere else. Upon arrival after 2pm, they kept me waiting for a room! I was sent a message that check in was at 12. The front desk is almost non existent! A guy shows up there on occasion and the rest of the day, there are some random people by the gate. No help with anything! No food at the restaurant after I returned from trips. No working phone in my room. The room was not cleaned well. The walk are so thin that you can hear peoples conversation next door, as they were taking to you. I did not get a room change upon request. Mire- I booked the hotel for $478 for 4 nights, which was too high for this hotel and service, and they charged me $498 without any explanation. No papers given to show me charges! I just checked my bank account. Oh… they charged my $2 for extra slice of cheese or the breakfast. Breakfast is included in the price. I did not feel welcomed in this hotel. I would recommend this hotel to any of my friends nor would want to return to this location…
We enjoyed our 5 night stay. The courtyards are beautiful. We looked forward to the included breakfast each morning, the setting is gorgeous and the waiter was kind and attentive. The room was comfortable and clean yet a bit quirky. But, we liked it! The housekeeper was lovely and helpful. The front desk guy…. just not very personable. Luckily, we didn’t have to rely on him for anything. This hotel was very nice and has the potential to be something really special. We would return if back in Antigua.
The good: it's clean, service is friendly, a nice breakfast is included, the place is very charming and the location can not be beaten. Bathrooms are pretty nice, there's plenty of hot water and the water pressure is steady. The bad: the rooms are very dark and the only (small) windows point to the hallways or other public areas. There is no A/C. Sound carries through the hotel so that every little noise will be heard by other occupants through closed doors and windows. TV is all in Spanish, WiFi on the TV is incredibly weak and will not buffer any programming. The furnishings are very outdated. Conclusion: for c. 90 USD per night you can do better.
Came here to enjoy a nice afternoon with friends, it is a very nice and calm place to be. The food is wonderful and very enjoyable . It has a great service and a really good environment to be in. Really recommend this place to people who are nearby.
Great location, very friendly staff, clean and spacious room. Good free breakfast that includes 3 choices. Defiantly recommend staying at this hotel. Next time will ask for a room away from the outdoor dining area for quietness.
Very beautiful hotel, Spanish architecture, affordable prices, excellent service, delicious food. It close to Antigua main entrance, also has a great view to the Aguas Volcano. Easy to walk around to the plaza and churches.
My 2nd trip to Antigua. Great hotel; perfect location 1 1/2 blocks from Central Park. Staff is friendly and helpful. Stayed in king jr suite - 2 diff rooms. Room 2 is on street so can't keep window open due to traffic noise and fumes. Room 5 was interior courtyard w window over dining area. Beds are comfortable.Linens are good. Will definitely stay here again.
Great central location, breakfast was very nice with a special shout out to our two very, very good waiters. They were extremely cordial + polite. Front desk service was spotty + weak at best. No greeting, no check in of any kind, no orientation, no words of farewell, no thank you - zip! Any time we needed to deal with the front desk, they were quite indifferent + not very cordial, polite nor customer service oriented. For a boutique property in Central America, especially at the price range Olivos charges, one would expect a certain level of front desk service. Very disappointing!
We stayed at this hotel and it was absolutely fantastic. We stayed in one of the suites that is large and the king size bed is wonderful and comfortable. The bathroom is large and the room is wonderfully decorated. One of my favorite parts was breakfast. They serve it similar to have fine dining. They do a wonderful job. I highly recommend this hotel
We had a room on two levels. Bedroom upstairs. Room was a bit small, but nicely furnished. Breakfast was served in the garden. Choice of eggs (any style), fruits, coffee and tee. Excellent room service and also excellent service for breakfast. Front desk very helpful.
