I prepaid for dinner and breakfast at the time I did the reservation, but they informed me they were not included and forced me to pay twice for something that I have already paid… very unfortunate since they led me to choose another hotel for my next trip to Panama.
I got e-coli and didn't realize that it VERY likely came from the pool since I swam daily after picture taken. If the small pool seemed to be intended to be a hot tub but would not turn on. Elliptical and tread mill worked find but the 3 resistant training machines did not work. Dining service takes a LONG wait for order and food then even longer to get your check. Price for buffet high for what you get. Staff was very friendly but the hotel is needing some updates for sure. Room not as clean as I would have liked but they cleaned daily. Staff very helpful getting uber but we were overcharged to go to mall (charged us $35 and others told us they only paid $10) Check in was long wait too! Close to airport so that was nice. Better served as transit hotel then vacation - packages for monkey island didn't include transportation so expect to add another $40 or more to get to pick up spot. This was our 3rd stay (other 2 were quick transit and we didn't have any problems getting to airport but wanted to site see for a few days so wouldn't recommend that for this hotel.…
July 2022 - one night stay. Transit stay after arrival to PTY Airport. E-mailed the property prior to stay and received concise instruction for where to locate the hotel shuttle at the airport. (At International terminal exit door P4 after customs, use crosswalk to middle curb pickup lane, turn left and wait for white van with Crown Plaza logo). Only waited 10 minutes for the shuttle at 4pm after getting luggage. Only 5 minutes to the hotel. Checkin was smooth - recognized for my IHG status - hotel amenities explained. Room is okay for a one-nighter, clean, pod coffee maker, comfortable bed and nice pillows. Window mount aircon a bit noisy but had a constant fan setting so the white noise actually was a good thing. Had drinks at the lobby bar and dinner at the lobby restaurant. Not winning any Michelin stars here but the food exceeded my expectations. This property has really friendly staff and that goes along way. For world travelers a few words of Spanish (or a translator app) are helpful but not required. Would stay again - very convenient to PTY airport in Panama City,. Five circles for exceeding expectations!…
Check in was horrendous. I’ve never encountered anything like that before. With most of the reviews they are getting, they need to come down on the prices. Will try not to stay here again. Nice pickup at the airport but was charged 10.00 which I thought was steep.
The staff here at Crowne Plaza Hotel was amazing very friendly place is clean and people willing to help you they went beyond that means of their duties to try to make I’ll stay here a pleasure one Explain all the hotel and abilities explain to us have a shuttle operates they try to get us in a room earlier as our flight was a very long one from United States and I hope to come back in the near future for a vacation here as long as you have staff like these people that are here now working
We have stayed at Crowne Plaza several times, and each time I grow more and more tired of the hotel. This last time was the last straw. We went to try to eat breakfast at their restaurant and no one was in line, so it was just us two who needed to be seated. There were 5 empty tables, 2 of which hadn't been cleaned. Two ladies working there told me I had to wait unless I wanted to sit outside. I said ok. After a few minutes, I grew tired of waiting and asked why they couldn't seat us. They would not give me an answer, and continued to tell me I had to wait. No one else had come to the restaurant during this time, so it was still just us. There was a dirty table with 4 chairs that I told them I wanted to sit at, and they just told me to wait. No one was even trying to do anything for me. Their food prices are ridiculous as well. So needless to say, we will not be staying there anymore, and we will not be recommending to our friends to stay there either. In addition, the room they put us in was in such disrepair. I couldn't believe it. Huge, ugly patches on the wall and an ice bucket that looked like they took it from the trash. Totally unacceptable. A $20 motel would have been better than this place. If we would have been treated right at the restaurant, I wouldn't have even said anything about the room's disrepair!…
Mold, poor / missing amenities, bad service. This place is just holding on, where the customer is expected to ignore its faults. Numerous items beyond the items mentioned and pictures. I’d avoid this place unless you really have to stay here.
We arrived at this hotel from the airport late morning and our room was not ready, which is totally understandable. We were able to store our luggage on-site as we waited for our room to become available, which didn't happen until after 3pm. This hotel has a gorgeous pool area so we asked if we could wait in the pool area. The hotel wanted to charge us $15 to access the pool area so we could sit in the loungers while waiting for our room to be ready. That doesn't seem to be a very hospitable way to treat guests. We've never encountered a policy such as this before.
The staff was excellent - we used whatsapp to communicate as we had no bilingual team mates. The food was amazing and the Asia Room was perfect. Marisol took very good care of our needs. Shuttle was timely and the rooms were clean.
Well located, has transfer to the airport, has a good restaurant and bar on site with options for the three meals of the day, the room is big, the staff is helpful. The only "but" is that the hotel is a little "busy", so your check in and check out experiencies could not be the best.
