The Sortis Hotel, Spa & Casino, Autograph Collection garners praise for its modern and luxurious atmosphere, with many guests enjoying the spacious and stylish rooms. However, opinions on value are split; some regard the hotel as reasonably priced, while others are dissatisfied with extra charges and service quality.
While the professional staff and array of amenities, including a gym, spa, and rooftop pool, receive commendations, there are occasional grievances about service responsiveness and room maintenance. Overall, the hotel offers a vibrant experience though it's not without its critiques.

This was my birthday trip as well as my first time traveling solo out of the country and my first time in Panama. Very nice and professional staff. I checked in with Ruben who was fast and gave me the room location near the elevator that I desired. My room was nice, I absolutely love the large bathroom and that shower is to die for. I need that bed to take home It was so comfy I should have asked the brand. Julia and Ivan took care of me at the Marriott welcome happy hour and Ivan definitely looked out for me on my whole trip. They surprised me one day with balloons and dessert and decorations in my room for my birthday. Very thoughtful gesture. There's other restaurants and things right outside of the hotel that I walked to just be careful of traffic. The staff that would be in the hotel lobby was also helpful forgot the name but the one gentleman literally walked me to the outside restaurants.
My only cons about the trip I felt the drinks could be stronger, they seemed watered down. I ordered chicken wings but they definitely were not good and really did not taste like chicken to be honest. Very tiny bones unlike a chicken so that was suspicious and the flavor. I also wish the pool stayed open a little bit longer than 6pm. Casino games were not that great And when you cash out you don't get your full amount they take out taxes! That was a horrible surprise. But it gave me something to do when I didn't want to leave the hotel. Couldn't figure out the coffee machine I suggest putting some clearer directions on there In English and perhaps with pictures so didn't get to use it. I also couldn't use a few more English speaking channels on the television. Overall cute hotel and nice stay.

Customer service at Sortis Hotel was fantastic. Concierges Montserrat & Ivan were amazing in helping us get restaurant reservations & SIM cards for our phones. Servers Deysire & Malissa in La Brasserie were perfect and Carlos the bartender at the Sports bar was great. If I had to complain about something, I would say the physical maintenance of bathrooms at the pool bar could be better. They were clean but in poor repair and not up to my expectation of an Autograph hotel. The rooms and views from the hotel were exceptional. The food was great and prices reasonable, there were also many decent eating options nearby in various price ranges if you choose not to eat at the hotel. In all, a very enjoyable experience. I would stay there again.

Stayed two nights - absolutely happy with everything that hotels has to offer. Good location (that is quiet but still downtown for dinners and going out). Friendly and efficient staff from the minute we walked in until check-out. Got a very nice and spacious room on the 7th floor with lovely views. Rooms was very trendy and all amenities you can dream of. Very nice bedding (I start to mention this on purpose as many hotels we stayed in recently - though mostly in Europe - have terrible bedding so that you end up running to the Chiro the next day), WLAN functions, very very clean and just - as simple as that - a top notch experience. For the price we paid, defenitely a 5-start-plus experience. Quick note about the bar: very nice. Quick note about the breakfast: great selection and superb quality produce. Will certainly return.

As context, I am a Marriot ambassodor member and spend 200+ days between Marriott and Hilton properties across the globe. My expereince at this hotel was truly a stunner. I must say most of staff including the folks at the front desk were awesome and kind during my stay. I also appreciated that I got a beautiful room. However, I must also say I experienced probably the worst level of customer service and disrespect at this hotel.
When I checked in on a Thursday, I was asked to select welcome gifts; i chose the bottle of white wine and the cheese board. The wine was delivered without a wine opener. Between Thursday and Saturday afternoon, I went down to the front desk FOUR times to ask for an opener. I was always told it will be delivered to my room, but it never was. On the fifth try on Saturday afternoon, the front desk manager had to go to the restaurant to get the opener for me. Within 15 mins of coming back to my room, two gentlemen knocked on my door bringing me another wine opener. I told them I already have one, albeit after five tries. Then within another fifteen minutes someone starting calling my room (they called four times) asking for the opener in a harassing manner. Process this - I have been asking for the opener for over two days and within 30mins of getting the opener am being called over and over to return it. I had not even opened the wine because I was chilling it. After all of this, I went downstairs and gave the bottle of wine and opener to your front desk manager. At this point, to stop the harassment, I had to give the wine back with the bottle opener. I felt disrespected and harrassed for a mundane opener. Am so disappointed that this is how some of the staff treat a customer, nonetheless am ambassor member.
But that was not it. Saturday night, they had a private party on roof terrace. The music was so loud that even ear plugs (which I carry as a seasoned travler) could not help. So, I was up until 3am when the party was over. Called the front desk several times and they told me there was nothing they could do as the party people were paying to use the facility. Why would a hotel, people get a room to get a good night’s rest, we playing super loud music until 3am. Recorded a several clips of the constant thumping sounds.
And worst was I sent a complaint to the Manager (Mr Ramirez) with the clips of loud music. It has been over a week with no response from him- not even acknowledging a customer complaint. My advise, especially if you looking for decent customer and hotel (sleep) services, avoid this hotel. I just felt they had no regard for customers.

Dear Mr. Sulay, Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your recent stay with us. I want to sincerely apologize for the unacceptable level of service you experienced, especially as a valued Marriott Ambassador member. Your loyalty to the Marriott brand is something we deeply appreciate, and I regret that we did not meet the standards you rightfully expect and deserve. It is disappointing to hear about the series of miscommunications and delays with the wine opener. I can only imagine the frustration this caused, and I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and disrespect you felt. This is not reflective of the service we strive to provide, and I will personally follow up with our team to ensure such issues do not occur in the future. Regarding the loud music from the rooftop party, I deeply regret the disruption it caused to your rest. While we do accommodate private events, it should never be at the expense of our guests' comfort. We will be reviewing our noise policies to prevent similar situations moving forward. I truly appreciate your candid feedback, as it helps us identify areas where we need to improve. We are committed to restoring your trust, and I would be more than happy to personally assist you with any future stays, should you give us another chance. Once again, I apologize for the shortcomings during your visit and thank you for your understanding. Warm regards, Ruben Sandoval Front Office Manager rsandoval@sortishotel.com

This hotel is worn out and is no longer seeing it glory days. The cleanliness and maintenance was a big issue for me. The bathroom was dirty with mold in the shower. At check-in, the table tops were all dusty and had dirt built up on it. I had to call to have it cleaned as soon as I got into the room. The curtains rods were broken making it difficult to open the curtains. Sockets had no power. Lamp shade was stained… along with the white chairs in the spa. I had an ongoing issue with getting small towels. Everyday they would remove the used towels and not replace them. On the 2nd day, I requested more towels just in case they don’t replace one… I would still have more…. Next day, they took every small towel including the extras out of my room. This happened 3 days in a row and finally stopped because I escalated this to the front desk manager. Overall, I was extremely unimpressed with the conditions of this hotel. I wouldn’t return.

The experience at Essential Spa was excellent. From the treatment at the reception to all the services offered; I was very well advised and helped by Supervisor Rut to choose the treatment that best responded to my needs. I loved the decoration of the spaces, which immediately transmit an effect of tranquility, calm and relaxation. Oh God, the relaxing massage I highly recommend. Diana, the massage therapist masters the technique perfectly, and creates an environment so delicate and exquisite that I cannot fail to praise her expertise.

I cannot say enough great things about Ivan, the concierge at Sortis Hotel in Panama City. From the moment we arrived, he went above and beyond to ensure our group of 11 had the best experience possible. Ivan helped us secure reservations at top restaurants, provided excellent recommendations, and was always available at all hours to assist with anything we needed. His attentiveness, professionalism, and deep knowledge of the city made our trip seamless and stress-free. Thanks to Ivan, our stay at Sortis was truly worth it. If you’re staying here, do yourself a favor and ask for his help—you won’t regret it!

Very well located hotel with many amenities. The service though is very bad and sound isolation is nonexistent. I could perceive street noise from my room in 7th floor and it is impossible to sleep after other guests start moving and walking in the corridors and taking the lifts. The A/C fab is loud and has one speed. So it is either off, or on an loud. One day there was a queue for breakfast. I waited 20min standing in a line for breakfast. Something unbelievable especially in a 5 star hotel. I got less towels after the first cleaning by the housekeeper. Shampoo and soap is not refilled daily. But worst is the reception desk. Most employees are incompetent. Slow to react. They can’t even process simple requests like extending a reservation. Using the parking is horribly complicated. After 7 nights, I still don’t understand if I need to validate the ticket at the reception desk or the valet office. Receptionist sends me to valet who then sends me back to reception till I lose my nerves and starts shouting at one of them. Pool is freezing. And if you need a PCR/Antigen test for your trip, it is 50% cheaper at the airport. At the hotel, they work with a lab which charges 75 $ for an antigen test. It is 30$ at the airport. So, overall a hotel that I don’t recommend, especially it is one of the most expensive in the city.

I have a video of the suite, but I am unable to upload it. My dad and I stayed in the 1 bedroom suite-- contains a kitchen, living room, large bedroom, and two bathrooms. I must say, this is a large suite and worth the price. It is located near many restaurants and stores; inside is a fairly moderate size casino. In addition, the staff was helpful and made our experience nice. We did have to Uber to complete activities which cost around $5-$10 USD. Casco Viejo is approximately 10 mins away from this hotel. I gave this review a 4/5 because the A/C was inconsistent, and you can see the wear and tear inside the room i.e. baseboards, etc. Overall, it's a good hotel for its price point (5 days, 4 nights came up to $1300.00 for 3 adults).
