I recently stayed at this hotel for seven days. I also had a group of eight stand this hotel as well with me as I celebrated my 26th birthday. I love that this hotel is located within the financial district of Panama, which means that is close to everything that’s within the area. In terms of customer service this hotel made sure that their staff was well trained and excellent in this area. They make sure everything that we needed that we had and if we didn’t have what we needed they will make sure that it was there by the morning time when we went out the next day in the city. The attention to detail was phenomenal. They also welcomed us a glass of champagne on our welcome due to me celebrating my birthday at this specific hotel.

One of the Pleasant surprise was that they had a restaurant/bar downstairs in the hotel lobby, which you can go to from 6:30 AM until 10:30 PM which also offered room service up to your room if you wanted to have food later on in the night. The bar service and cleaning service was impeccable. I couldn’t have asked for a better staff to make sure that we were taken care of. Make sure that you always tip when people are taking good care of you, especially at this hotel it goes a long way.

Now, onto a couple of things that I feel as though the hotel could’ve did better in, since this hotel is a five stars hotel I would expect for them to offer microwaves in each room in which they didn’t so whenever you order food, you have to go to the lobby and heat it up. This is was super inconvenient when it’s late at night, and you’re in your night clothes you don’t want to go to the lobby to heat up your leftovers. Also, there was a distinctive smell on the hotel floor and in the rooms whenever you get back from inside, this can be something that could be fixed, especially when you’re coming in from a long flight or torn the city you would expect a better smell. I recommend having air fresheners on each floor and in and in the rooms to get rid of whatever the-smells.

Despite these critiques, I would still go to this hotel all over again. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and I have shared my experience on TikTok. The front desk works hard to make sure that we were taken care of one of the highlights with this hotel is the umbrella service, ordered because Panama rains 9 months of the year and you are allowed to borrow them and place them back upon returning to the hotel. Another highlight is my friend left her rare Stanley cup and the hotel knew she was apart of our party, and made sure we got it to give to her back in the U.S. Also, the hotel even keeps your bags locked up when checking out instead carrying it around the city until your flight you can leave it at the front desk and comeback to get it right before your flight.

The hotel was nicely appointed & clean. I was upgraded to a corner room with some amazing views. Overall the room was ver nice…and I’m particular about where I stay!!! The drawbacks were that the room never got really cool. It got down to maybe 75 F. At times the heat disrupted my sleep. Additionally, there was a damp order in the Hallway & in my room. I always bring air freshener so that did help some. The staff was friendly & attentive. Kevin was awesome!!! SN: the breakfast buffet isn’t worth it.

Amazing hotel overall. This was my second stay here after a work trip a few years ago.

The staff were all incredibly helpful from the start.

The room was great with a beautiful view of Panama City, the gym was great, and the pool/jacuzzi were fantastic!

The breakfast buffet was a little pricey for what you got, I would recommend just getting something nearby for a whole lot less money. Otherwise, zero complaints, I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Terrible experience. 4 engineering visits, 2 room move offered in a space of 2 hours.

1st engineering visit.

Upon checking into our room, we discovered that the shower wasn’t functioning properly due to low water pressure. When we tried to contact the front desk to address the issue, the phone didn’t work, so therefore had to go down from the 17th floor to report it in person.

2nd, 3rd and 4th engineering visit.

The front desk suggested moving us to a different room, and we agreed. However, in the new room, the overhead shower wasn’t working either, so the engineering team had to come and adress the issue. After they left, we attempted to shower, only to find there was no hot water. They returned to resolve the issue, but after my partner showered, the shower stopped working again. The engineering team had to come back a fourth time, and though they eventually got it working, we were told that we could either use the hot shower or the sink, but not both simultaneously, as using the sink would cause the hot water to fail. Consequently, we couldn’t shower in the morning. We were offered another room, but I refused, see below as to why.

Technical issues can happen in any hotel, but my primary concern was how the situation was handled. After offering us a third room, I expected the hotel staff to personally check everything before suggesting another move. However, the front desk was quick to suggest another room without providing a clear answer when I asked what would happen if the issues persisted. The response was simply, "This is the only option I can give you" (I wish the phone call had been recorded).

The front desk team needs additional training on five-star service and better communication with guests, as the way I was treated fell far below expectations. If a third room move is necessary, staff should ensure the room is thoroughly checked beforehand.

There was no follow-up from the front desk after checkout, nor was any compensation, recovery or apologies offered.

This is not the level of service one would expect from a five-star hotel in cities like London or New York. I truly wish the call had been recorded so this could be used as training purposes on how to not deal with situations as such.

Please note that we are not difficult guest and we are fully understand the issues within hotel facilities that may arrise from time to time and often beyond control of team members on duty. But it is the responsibility of the managers on duty to ensure that guest are looked after and treated accordingly. Something that I felt was missing.

We stayed for 2 days, after we made a reservation per Telefon for a price we saw online (booking via the homepage didn’t work) after arrival they charged us 2/3 more than the online price they had the day before (we unfortunately didn’t had a print screen as proof). The rooms where ok but on the second day both rooms we had booked had no towels anymore. There are two coffe machines in the room but only for one they had 1 capsules only. Although 5 stars, we had to carry our bags ourselves from the car into the hotel room. There was no service at all. The breakfast was poor and as vegi there was no other choice than toast. for some vegetables they would have asked for an extra charge. Usd 15 for a black coffe and some toast was therefore simply overpriced. All in all not worth the price and the stars

The Global Hotel is a nice oasis for visitors to Panama City. It has large rooms with spacious closets and all the amenities of an international hotel, at least under normal circumstances. During my stay in October of 2020, Panama's Airport had only been open for international arrivals for one week or so following the country's long lock down for the COVID-19 pandemic. Because of that, the hotel was very empty and had no open restaurants. The mini bar products in the room had been removed, and there were very few amenities that were still provided, other than soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion in personal, single use sizes.
Still, the front desk staff was friendly and helpful, the TV had lots of channels, the bed was comfy, the room was spotless, and the shower water was hot. So I was happy with my stay and I would recommend it to others. I'd like to go back when the hotel is fully operational and experience it that way, when I am sure it's even better!

My family and I just arrived home today and this was our second hotel in Panama. Honestly, I wish we had stayed at the first one.

Staff: Ok, so the bell hop is the best. He should be the face of the hotel to be honest. Very attentive, friendly and overall extremely welcoming. He was amazing from the moment our car pulled in. There seemed to be only two front desk attendants a tall man and a female who were cold, stand off-ish and at times rude. Like looking at my family and I right in our faces and laughing rude. Other than one of our rooms not being ready (which honestly was not an issue because we were early) then being told we would be notified but weren't after waiting an hour, I guess they did their job. However, I would venture to say hospitality, welcoming and caring behavior is not in their job description. This was in STARK comparison to our first hotel which was actually quite disappointing as it was at the end of our trip.

Rooms: The rooms, especially the corner suite delivered as far as decorum. I loved the tub and how everything separate. The view was also a plus. HOWEVER, as soon as you stepped off the elevator which continued into the room, there was a HORRIBLE moldly, wet, stuffy, old motel smell that just wouldn't go away. For someone with allergies or asthma it would be a nightmare. It made it difficult to sleep actually. Turning the air off helped a tiny bit but then the room was way too warm.

Facilities: Wasn't interested in breakfast so can't speak on that. Husband and daughter ate dinner one night and were underwhelmed. My daughter actually got sick. The gym and pool were pretty cool. A fully equipped gym which was quite impressive. The pool could be considered smaller but it's proportionate to the area and with all the lounge furniture, it is actually quite relaxing!

Overall: Personally would not stay again. Which is a shame because I live for nice bathrooms it this was top notch. But with staff attitude, motel smell and nasty food taken into consideration, it just doesn't make up for it. I felt more like a burden and bother than a valued guest. It truly put a damper on our vacation.

Our first visit to Panama was made more special by this hotel. At first we were unsure, but after a couple of days of exploring the city we decided to extend our stay. You can’t beat the amenities for the price. At first sight you might think you are stranded, but after exploring you realized you have great food options, connivence stores, a pharmacy and a grocery store within a short walking distance. There was not a place in town we could not reach via Uber under $3-$4. When we left, the Uber to the airport was less than $10. Panama is hot and humid so you are going to want cold drinks; there is an am/pm store (think 7/11) just out the front door. We bought dozens of bottles of water, sodas and wine (say hi to Kevin the night manager from Larry!). If travel ever brings us back to Panama, I would not hesitate to stay here again. …be sure to ask for extra pillows for the bed.

Food was decent. Service not so much. Part of it is not the fault of the servers. They aren’t allowed to share the wifi code. For a tourist that wants to have a lunch or business dinner, I don’t recommend as wifi is a must for tourists. Go somewhere else. Was taken care Keila (not her fault). She was just the messenger. In such a difficult economic situation, I was surprised of doing things to drive away customers.

Myself and partner visited this Hotel a few times when it was The Ola Panama now the Globals Hotel Panama. It seems that the standard has dropped considerably this visit. The food was sadly lacking. The Main Chef did his best but was under great pressure it seemed. He was very very busy with virtually no help. My thoughts were that they were under staffed. The Air conditioning went off every night. I complained on two consecutive nights about it. It was restored quickly but only after being woken up with the heat and hardly able to breath. The WIFI was Nonexistent in Room 404. There also seems to be an issue with Ants in this room. My partner was bitten by what looked like midges every night in the restaurant as there were no insect trap lights or similar. We bought the drinks package which did save us a fortune. The room was clean and respectable and if not for the air conditioning would have been perfect.
I really feel disappointed that I have only gave the Hotel 3 stars as I always thought it was a fantastic Hotel and worthy of five stars in the past. Alas if I were asked if I would return to this hotel, I would probably say No. (Sadly).
So come on Globals Panama raise your game. Address the restaurant and the food. Sort the WIFI and the air conditioning.
Jet2 also need to inspect the Hotels they offer the public as this was our third Jet2 trip this year and all have been labelled as 4 star but were sadly lacking and lucky if they were even at a 3 star Standard.
