We spent a total of 2 weeks at the Waldorf Astoria Panama and could not have been happier with our stay. We felt the value was excellent for the quality of the room and service. The hotel is one block back from Avenida Balboa & has several very good restaurants within an easy walk, and just about any of the tourist areas (Mira Flores Locks, Cerro Viejo, etc.) are an easy $3-5 Uber or taxi ride. There are many Uber drivers in town & this seems to be the go-to option for transportation in this part of town). We will definitely be returning!
We would give this hotel 10 stars if we could- fantastic experience all the way around! Each staff member was super friendly and welcoming and truly happy that you were there. The doorman, front desk, housekeeping, pool bar staff and breakfast workers all were wonderful! The breakfast buffet is not one to miss- fresh flowers on the tables, coffee, tea, juices, tons of fruit, breads, yogurts, made to order omelettes, hot dishes , cereals , granolas - you name it was there and everyone was pleasant to help ! Room was clean and nice- plenty of towels and bottles of water to drink. Hotel was happy to store our bags even before we checked in while we were on an excursion. Upon arrival several days after dropping our bags they knew our names as soon as we arrived! Staff had great recommendations of a few places within walking distance of the hotel which were very good. We loved this hotel and plan to stay again next time we visit Panama City.. Do not hesitate to book a room here - you will not regret it - we loved it!!!…
This is a magnificent hotel! Great location, amazing staff, and excellent service. Special shout out to Patricia and Oliver, who could not have been better! I cannot recommend this place highly enough!
I stayed for 4 days at the Waldorf from the 27th till the 30th of July and the experience was really pleasant. The service was top notch, the staff was amicable and always looking to help, I was greeted with a fruit basket as well as a very kind note from the Reception Desk. The room was spacious and very comfortable, the bathroom was equipped with Salvatore Ferragamo toiletries, kuddos to the cleaning staff, as my room was cleaned everyday. The staff at both restaurants were also very courteous, a special thanks to Karla from the Peacock Alley Restaurant, she and the other hostess from the Matiz Restaurant Breakfast Buffet are two of the nicest staff I met during my stay. My first time staying at a Waldorf Hotel and it exceed my expectations! The food was really good, the pool had a really nice vibe (sadly I couldn't enjoy it enough), impecable service from nearly all of the staff and luxury all around. I hope to be back very soon as I enjoyed my stay at the Waldorf and I loved Panama City very much. I guess my only negative comment would be that you have to pay for parking at 15USD per night, money which could have been spent on drinks at the bar ;)…
We stayed for two nights July 2022. The reception and dining personnel are exceptional. Welcoming, polite and helpful. The room was decent sized and our reservation came with breakfast. The breakfast buffet included an omelet station, fresh squeezed juices and a yoghurt and old meal station. They had eggs, bacon and hash browns along with a very nice selection of fresh breads and fruits. Very nice breakfast. The hotel itself is aging a bit and the hallway on the 18th floor smelled musty. There are restaurants in the area that you can walk to along with other hotels. Overall a very pleasant stay.
Stayed for 3 nights on a solo business trip. The place felt more like a 4 star than a 5 star. Furnishings were not particularily luxurious. No bathtub in room. Terrace was right over the restaurant's vent, forcing you to smell oil whenever you went out. Lovely staff. Great breakfast buffet
We stayed 3 nights at the beautiful hotel in the heart of the city. The staff is exceptional and I enjoyed the spa and amenities. The breakfast was very good as well, as it included many options like omelettes and fresh juices.
Overall it is a great hotel, and the staff is amazing! The concierge gave great recommendations for places to eat, we had some excellent meals thanks to her! As an amenity when we checked in we had a nice cheese platter, food on the pool deck was great and big portions and the drinks were good and decently priced. The toiletries in the room are the best I’ve ever had in a hotel. Salvatore Ferragamo shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and shower gel. Breakfast was a buffet and service was great as well The hotel shows its age and the rooms were a bit old, also the pool isn’t too nice, specially the view since it is in front of 2 old and not well maintained buildings , another negative point was the fact that there was no wine opener in the room and to open the bottle they would charge a “decorking fee” or wait for someone to come to the room to open it. Even if breakfast was included, tips were not even if we had a food and beverage credit that we didn’t fully use, which is a bit weird, but can’t complain about it given the superior service level. In general great hotel in a good location!…
Was a real treat to stay here. Felt well taken care of and enjoyed the amenities. Loved the breakfast buffet and the Spa. Rooms were incredibly comfortable. Would love to come back! I have the Amex so breakfast was included and $100 dollar resort credit too. Staff was great. Everyone was great. I want to come back to Panama just for this hotel. Also, was only a 3 dollar uber ride to Casco Viejo.
very friendly & helpful staff. Room was always very clean. Staff worked very hard to meet our needs. Breakfast was a delicious buffet, a little expensive ($24). Since the hotel was in the city, we had easy access to Uber to get to restaurants
