The staff was outstanding, especially Marilyn. She works in Westin Club on then19th floor. She was always happy to see everyone and she remembered everyone’s favorites. I do not drink alcohol, Marylyn made me a fresh mango non-alcoholic drink, it was delicious! When I came back two nights later she made me another equally delicious drink. The check in was easy and I was provided an upgrade based on my Marriott Bonvoy status, without asking for an upgrade. The food was good, the Westin team was outstanding.

The Westin Playa Bonita Panama has become one of my truly favorite hotels. This was my fourth visit and I anticipate more in the future. The staff is wonderfully helpful and gracious. The facilities are absolutely outstanding. The view is unbeatable. I love the several swimming pools and thoroughly enjoy relaxing in the sun, reading a book and sipping on a margarita. Even when there are many people there, there is always room for more. You never feel too crowded. And, on weekdays, you can have to yourself just about all the space you could want. The rooms are clean, pristine, luxurious, and completely comfortable. My favorite feature of the hotel is The Westin Lounge on the 19th floor. They serve breakfast in the mornings and heavy hors d'oeurves and drinks in the evening, often sufficient for an evening meal. The view out over the Pacific and the nearby islands and the dozens of ships waiting to enter the Panama Canal is unforgettable. This property has become my perfect place for a quiet, lazy getaway. Yet, for $10 or less, it is very easy to catch a 20-minute Uber ride into the city to enjoy dinner at one of the many fine restaurants in Panama City and especially Casco Viejo, the old city, or to tour the impressive Panama Canal. Special mention is deserved for Linda, who heads up customer service and who could not have been more friendly and helpful with a minor problem I had that required some assistance, or with Miguel and Marilyn in The Westin Lounge who absolutely spoiled me, or with Joel and Billie Jean in the lobby lounge/bar who make stopping by for a drink special and fun. It is wonderful people like these individuals who most make me want to go back. A couple of suggestions: getting an ocean view room is worth the extra price; and, if somewhat loud music and occasional DJ's down at the pool might bother you, get a room on one of the higher floors where you will only hear the party by the pool if you are out on your balcony (this is only during daytime hours, not during evenings). Also, the gym and spa facilities and services are excellent.

Just came back from spending a marvelous week in Panama at the Westin! Everything from the room to the staff was excellent! The food options were good especially the steak house Tierra y Fuego. I would definitely recommend making a reservation there! All the staff there were very friendly and attentive, especially Neyla from the buffet, always knew our drink order. The staff at the lobby bar were also friendly but I didn't get a chance to get their names. The bar at the pool was also excellent. All the drinks were good and pretty strong. The beach was good but when the tide was low, all that was left was the rocks but it was a cool experience to walk out and explore. Overall it was such an excellent place to stay! I would definitely recommend staying here and booking your excursions through Panamazing. We did the half day tour of Panama City and the Panama Canal, The Gamboa rainforest tour and the San Blast Island excursion. Would definitely recommend it!

Our overall experience in Panama was excellent, offering an enriching cultural experience that few countries can match. Staying at the Westin Playa Bonita added an extra dimension to our journey, providing a comfortable, clean, and wonderfully scenic family room. If your intention is to explore and venture out on your own, it might be more convenient to stay in a city hotel since most of Panama's attractions are located in the city, and this hotel is a bit secluded. However, if you are seeking a tranquil stay with beach access, then this hotel is the perfect choice. There are several tours available that depart from this hotel, making it convenient for those looking to explore. Overall, it was a delightful experience for my family and me.

The room is good, not excellent. Shower has low preassure but the overall room and bathroom are well maintained. The hotel does not really give you any benefit for having Bonvoy status, what is disappointing. The hotel is actually far from everything and as the beach is not beautiful enough to capture your attention for more that a day, I wouldn't stay there again. Breakfast is below average, nice viriaty but not tasty. Pineapple was really good, but everything else just seemeed to taste the same. Pircy for what it offers. Same for the restaurants in the location. Average quality, high prices.

Your experience of disappointing being bonvoy and not having Benefit, also the quality of the food is below our standard. Providing the highest level of hospitality is our number one priority and I sincerely apologize for failing to meet your expectations. I have shared your feedback with the administration's leadership team to ensure the necessary guidelines are in place and reviewed to prevent similar situations from occurring in the future. Stayed with 6 friends... We had the all inclusive plan. Ive stayed in other all inclusives all around the world and the experiences have usually been top notch. I would recommend staying here if you want a normal or even below average experience. Food's regular and so are drinks but they have a million things to improve. We we're supposed to check in at 3... we were in line since 2:30 and had to wait until 4 pm. They had very little personnel attending. Same thing happened with the bars... Lines queued and you had to wait for over 15 minutes for drinks. The area for the breakfast buffet was incredibly small so you couldn't get food without bumping into each other. There were no indications to let you know if you were in line for eggs... or the regular line. It was a mess. We had to wait 10 minutes until they gave us silverware because tables weren't clean and the few service personnel couldn't keep up. Bacon ran out an hour before the buffet was supposed to end and they said they weren't making any more. To top it all... check-in is at 3 pm and check out is at 12 pm... in most all inclusives... you can still eat or drink at least until 1 pm... in here... You're completely cut off... so yeah. Eat plenty at breakfast if youre checking out that day. Also beware - only around 20-25 people fit in the nightclub and it closes at 1 am.... So it's not a resort for partying.

Great experience as always, but this time it was extra special. Marilyn at the executive lounge (19th floor) made me feel welcome and she was extremely attentive. From the time I walked in to the time I left, there was always a smile and willingness to give you her best. I can’t wait for my next trip! All the staff is amazing as well! Go visit, you won’t be disappointed!

I visited Panama and stayed at the The Westin Playa B9n8ta with my friend very recently. We spent 1 week. I had a very good trip overall. When we first arrived at the resort, we noticed the beauty of the resort. I like that they had security at the front gate. Security could use some improvement but it was better than nothing. The staff at the resort and Panama residents are friendly people. The hallway did smell moldy and I believe thats cause from wet carpet. The rooms are nice lots of space. The bathroom is equpped with tub and separate shower. Unfortunately my tub couldnot be plugged. There are 4 pools, one with a hot tub but the hot tub is not hot not even warm. The swim up bar was not open during my stay, except one time for a private party. There are a several restaurants but only 3 is open at any given time. Two buffet and one a la carte which requires reservation. The food was ok. As a "foodie", it wasn't horrible or inedible. I have heard horror stories about the resort next door. Anyways, there a good choices and the food was edible. I really don't have any complaints about the food or drinks I received with all inclusive stay. By the way The Westin is one of the very few All inclusive resorts in Panama and one of two resorts in Playa Bonita area. Although, it's all inclusive, it offers other plans as well. So please pay attention to what your plan offers. I had the All inclusive premium plan which means everything is included. Some plans does not include everything. Overall, I had good stay and great time in Panama. I especially love the seafood market AKA Mariscos de Mercado. Uber is super cheap and take you wherever you want to go.

We booked this vacation back in 2020 and had to cancel because of covid. My wife daughter and I rebooked a few months ago for August 2023. The Westin Playa Bonita is a beautiful property with plenty of options and amenities on site. Just down the road from VeraCruz and Panama Pacifico business district. After each day the we loved relaxing in the concierge lounge on floor 19 - Marilyn was the best hostess and server ever. Much appreciation to Marilyn for her hospitality and representing Westin / Marriott in the best way possible.

After perusing these reviews for a few months with seemingly limited options for a beach resort in Panama, we stayed here on an all-inclusive basis August 13-17 and had a great time. The first thing to note is that this is not Cancun and you will not exactly find that vacation vibe here, but the hotel provides everything you need, it was spacious and clean and the staff went out of there way to provide us top service whenever they could. We stayed when the occupancy was quite low (guessing maybe 20% full?), so having 2 elevators out of service didn't effect us. Our last day we noticed a convention of some sort taking place with a lot of people in the lobby. When at lower capacity, the Westin limits the choices of dining - for example only one a la carte restaurant is open each night. The first night was the steakhouse Tierra & Fuego which was excellent! Food and service were very much enjoyed and the decor/lighting was top notch. The 2nd night was Asiana which had an Asian fusion menu including sushi which we also enjoyed very much. By the 4th night Asiana was the only a la carte option and we did not want to eat that again, so we went to the buffet for Mexican night. It was quite good, but you had to wait in line for your made to order tacos, which took much too long (up to 30 minutes). I'm surprised this wasn't anticipated with a larger crowd and someone set up to assist the single cook with this process. 3 Mexican dancers entertained the crowd dancing throughout the restaurant which was an unexpected surprise! Breakfast and lunch buffets were excellent. On the all-inclusive basis if you did not want the buffet for lunch you could order from the menu at the Starfish. There are 4 pools, each quite large and refreshing. There is a pool bar (not a swim up bar, that one is closed) that would make you whatever drink you wanted pretty much. When not busy, they would even bus drinks over. On our third day, we were offered food service when the bartender dropped off our drinks. That was welcomed for sure, but that only happened once. Would have liked that throughout our stay, but was it was fine getting up for our drinks also. While the pools were clean, I thought they should have been skimmed during the pool day. This never happened and there were small leaves and some bugs that could have been removed for a better experience - but overall this was not a big issue, and at night and early morning the vaccuums were def cleaning the pools. Towels were always available and there was an abundance of extra lounge chairs at all locations which was a big plus for me. They have day pass guests, but it seems they must limit those because it did not take over, at least when we were there. The drinks were also a highlight on the all inclusive plan, as we had many cocktails made to order and wine with dinner was also nice. There is a coffee shop opened for most of the day where you could get a cappuccino and dessert or a fruit cup which was included with our all-inclusive bands. We also drank plenty of water in bottles from the bars. Our room was #1040, facing the ocean and watching the long line of ships heading for the canal was really something to see. We also took an Uber to the Mirflores Lockes one afternoon which was a great experience despite the museum portion being under renovation. Overall this was really an excellent place to stay for us to relax and recharge in a beautiful country that we had not traveled to before, and see a modern wonder of the world up close in the Panama Canal.
