Very unprofessional staff, especially reception and duty manager. When I was making a booking via phone, they didn't give me any details such as booking reference or else so when we arrived to the hotel they said that there is no booking in the system and had to search a new room for us on the spot which took a lot of time to register us again. I'm from Belarus and my husband is not so according to the policy of the hotel we had to pay extra per night because he's a foreigner! Unbelievable. I've travelled so many countries and stayed in different hotels but first time see such discrimination. Spa also was closed during our stay because they switched off the water for some reason. Gym needs some extension, extremely basic. When we tried to talk to a manager about what happened she was rude and negligent and looked like she didn't care at all. Reception also said if you don't like conditions you can change the hotel. No comments. The positive thing was the location of the hotel and the room was nice and cosy, cleaning staff was amazing, the lady cleaned and replaced amenities every day. I enjoyed breakfast buffet as well , since a lot of Belarussian style dishes, but my husband didn't really like because a new taste for him so if you are picky and not into trying new things you might not like it …

I stayed 13 nights at Hotel Victoria 1 ( near business center) and I ll come back soon. I really enjoyed to be there. Nice room with lake view , clean and comfortable .Good location ,wifi. breakfast . bar restorante lobby,spa etc Reception is best service always smile , kindly, very good english and helpfull. I especially thankfull to Marina Kubar, , Anastasia Sadovskaya ,and also others . I had a great time at hotel and Minsk Greetings from Helsingborg - Sweden

The rooms are fine, quite clean and confortable. The food service is good and the restaurant is quite good as well. Nevertheless, the breakfast in the morning is quite poor in quality under my point of view. Also the gym is closed most of the time and have to ask permision or special request to go to it. It is also quite small but has most of the things necessary. Logistically it is on an acceptable location.

I had a single room which was fine - small but quite a large bathroom. The park opposite is fantastic, great for a stroll and so clean. Try a ride on an electric scooter or a boat trip and enjoy the fountain. Breakfast was a great spread - something for everyone. Culturally, service is not ingrained so don't expect lots of smiles and perkiness - that said, staff were polite and helpful when asked. I was on the fourth floor and the windows opened wide so bit of a health & safety risk. Room was very quiet and windows cut out all noise. Beware - mini-bar is pressure sensitive so when I moved everything around to cool my bottle of water, they thought I'd drunk the lot!

I must say that I am surprised by the amount of good reviews. Maybe we just got really unlucky but our experience was quite terrible. First of all, the staff at the reception desk were the most unwelcoming people. From the point of our arrival to the day we left, we had a strong feeling as we were unwelcome guests who they don't want to talk to, deal with, or help with anything. Mind you, we didn't have many requests or anything like that. Not even a smile, no questions, no pointing direction to the right elevator to get to our floor. Sure, these are small things but they create the whole experience for clients. Both rooms that we had were clean but very outdated with a TV of a size of a little bit bigger than an iPad. The blankets on our beds were wrinkled and had stains (!) all over them. In addition, someone was smoking on our floor - I kindly informed the front desk about this fact. Their response? - "Ok, then these people will pay their fine." The staff was not really engaged in what they've been doing. They just didn't care. Honestly, I could close my eyes on old furniture and even on having fruit flies in the room but I cannot stand the poor customer service provided by the staff. Sorry, we won't be back.…

I stayed two nights at this hotel, traveling for business reasons. The general atmosphere, as often happens in the countries of the former Soviet Union, is rather gloomy, the staff not smiling and not at all helpful. Nonostane I had been booked a room with a twin bed, I was assigned a single room quite small but definitely clean and well-ordered. Being of large stature the bed was uncomfortable with a mattress of low quality and too small. During the night I suffered a bit cold and there was no way to regulate the temperature in the room. The breakfast was rich and plentiful but the service at a bad level (the waitress picked up the dish I had just placed on the table, full of stuff just because I had got up for a moment to get coffee). It's a great location and a great place to stay, central and not too far away from the CBD - 2.5 km - and on a major route with frequent buses, close to major attractions and sites especially Victory Park across the road and the Great Patriotic War Museum, a short walk away. The fourth floor room was clean, modern, air conditioned and had a free wifi (a life saver until I bought a data SIM card), TV and bar fridge, separate bathroom and toilet and was cleaned daily. The staff were friendly and courteous even with limited English. I used Uber quite a bit as it was super cheap (by Australian standards). The down side to the hotel - not many - there were no tourism/sight seeing brochures at reception and staff spoke little and broken English which meant they could not answer questions. The restaurant food was OK but nothing stood out. Would I stay there again? Yes and definitely recommended!…

We have staid there just for one night. The hotel itself is nice, well furnished, clean. Location is quite good, you can reach Town Hall square on foot in 15 minutes, or you can take a taxi and it will cost 3-5 euros. The main problem of this hotel is staff. Girls at reception were so rude and unfriendly that we thought about leaving this hotel, but unfortunately room was prepaid. Waitress at breakfast was also very unfriendly. She made us feel sorry to disturb her. Overall I think in Minsk they have a competition ''The rudest service staff member''

The suites in this hotel are adequate. Space is good but many of the lights in the room didn't work nor did the TV in the bedroom. These weren't deal breakers in my view as the room was clean and adequate. The BIG problem came when checking out early in the morning to catch a flight. I spent 45 minutes trying to settle my bill by credit card. The receptionist tried 3 different cards -all were declined. She announced to me it was my cards that were declined therefore my fault! I called my bank they confirmed there were no issues with the cards yet still they wouldn't process. Luckily I had a native speaker join me who explained the problem was actually due to the banks in Belarus changing currency in July -BE WARNED!! The only solution the hotel could offer was to use the cash machine to the side of reception but it was out of order. There was a bureau de change in the hotel but they didn't have a card machine! The situation was now becoming farcical yet the receptionist could not provide me with a solution. In the end I had to borrow money from a stranger and combine this with a combination of Euros and BRU to settle my account in cash -- a very mortifying experience that I do not wish to repeat. The room cost me 30% more than advertised due to the differing currency and if I'd been 5 minutes later to the airport I would have missed my flight due to this fiasco. This is not an ideal scenario for a female travelling alone. I travel globally on a weekly basis and it's safe to say I've never had an experience like this. I will not be back.…
