The Capella staff team surpassed every expectation that my family and I had. My parents and I wanted to book a staycation on the last weekend of August to celebrate my mother's 60th birthday. As I made the reservation for the suite, I mentioned the occasion in passing but didn't think any further of it. Imagine the surprise and joy on our faces when my family checked into the suite to find that the staff had decorated it in advance with birthday balloons! The specialist who showed us around the room even presented us with a slice of birthday cake! There and then, the warmth of the gesture made the suite feel like our home away from home. The great experience did not stop there. Throughout our 2D1N stay, we were constantly impressed by the attentiveness and detailedness of the staff. For example, we returned after a walk at the beach to find window blinds rolled down and bathrobes laid out on the bed for a more cozy and restful atmosphere. There was also a selection of complementary hotel events for us to participate in. We opted to join a boba tea-making class. The class was short and fun, and the hosts never made us feel awkward and out of place, nor were they overbearing. Overall, just a great experience. It's slightly pricier than most, but the experience you get in return is so, so worth it. I'll definitely come back if I want to be assured of a warm celebration for my family or friends, or just to be completely assured of a great experience.…
We were quite concerned about our recent stay as we have always been staying at the Garden Villa. We couldn't book it as it was a trip made in the spur of the moment, and we booked the Club Residences instead. We had a handful of requests and it was met and beyond our expectations. We want to say a big thank you to Cindy and Eeza for your patience and all the kind arrangements, we couldn't have felt more pampered by the team while we were there. It was very relaxing (what we really wanted) and private for us and we truly appreciate it. Our furkids had a great time too :) Because of your arrangements we are able to invite a couple of friends over for dinner and had a really good time together. We are true ambassadors of your brand and will definitely be back - Rick & Juliana
The apartment is very well equipped with gas hob, induction hob, a microwave oven (with upper heating element to aid browning) and a washer dryer. The cutleries and tableware were set up for 4 people. The frying pan and pot were all oversized in my opinion. Service was all around excellent as always which was why I am still rating this as a 5-star experience despite some small issues with the room: Both TVs were rather old, there was no casting capabilities nor screen mirroring capabilities, so bring your own HDMI cables. The living room had a really large coffee table that was really just taking up a lot of space. There was also no coffee machine like a Nespresso, which I expect in a place of such high price points. The dish rag provided also smelled bad - they should really consider changing it once a while. The bathroom was designed to be at a slightly lower level than the bedroom to keep the water in case of overflowsoverflows just, but instead of a gentle recline, they put in a really small step that was not marked out - we stubbed our toes a few times till muscle memory kicked in. The study's power outlet was below the table, which made it rather inaccessible. I was surprised that there were no power outlets on the desk or on the wall above the desk, which would have made more sense. Generally, I find the location of the power outlets not ideal. In another example, the best placement for the electronic mosquito repellent is probably at the outlet just outside the bathroom but as it was quite low and just outside the door, there was a risk of someone accidentally kicking it in the night when moving in or out of the bathroom. For M1 users, note that the reception in the 8x15 stack was almost non-existent, so thank goodness for the excellent Wifi.…
My family loves it! My kids needed no time to adapt to the cosy environment and started exploring the spacious rooms. The service was amazing too! But, we would like to specially express our appreciation towards Darren. Despite the short notice, he managed to arrange everything we requested efficiently. It was such a great arrangement! Definitely recommended for a family staycation!
Our stay in Capella was wonderful. The rooms were spacious and nice. We were given little surprise treats. They also prepared something special for my husband as we were celebrating Father’s Day. The service rendered is excellent. We were greeted with warm smiles everywhere we go. Though there were occasions we need to remind them, it is perfectly understandable as they were very short-handed. Hence let’s be extra kind and patience during times like this. Keep up the good work and we will be back soon!
We booked one of the one bedroom club residences for the missus birthday celebration and we brought a small puppy along as well. Unfortunately the stay was overall disappointing. The one bedroom apartments in their club residences are at basement 2 and there were 2 flights of stairs to be climbed. Not the most comfortable at all when there sometimes quite a few heavy stuff to carry along when we leave the room. Apparently only the 3 and 2 bedroom apartments were on the higher floors. Nothing was mentioned about this upon booking. The most appalling bit was that we found not one but two worms in the room. One in the shower and one in the living room. We had a pet with us and were not sure whether more worms already eaten by our poor puppy. We informed them about the poor pest control and was duly shifted to another room in the main building on a higher floor. We were initially thinking of cancelling our second day stay already due to this bad experience. Service recovery on this issue was at most average in view that this was a special occasion for the missus and the worms has really ruined the overall mood. Nothing else was offered. And we didn’t want to pursue the matter further either. Another issue that really fell short was that a prearrangement was made with the hotel Culturist before hand already for concierge to help collect a bouquet of flowers the day before the missus birthday and only to help deliver them to the room on the morning of her birthday itself. However when the flowers was delivered the day before, the staff wrongly delivered them immediately to the room and the surprise was totally ruined when the missus opened the receive them. Caution also to those who are bringing their pets to the hotel for a staycation they do not allow you on the premises of the pool even if your puppy is small and carried in a bag. We said that our puppy is going to be carried in the bag the whole time as only one of us was going to swim. We were not going to leave puppy on the floor unguarded. But that was still not allowed. Just very strict on their rules I guess. The room we were changed to had a good view and the room itself was pretty and comfortable. But probably something one can get easily at another hotel at half the price what’s paid for a room at capella. Not really up to expectations. For the high end price tag.…
My family stayed in this place for staycation in January 2021. The check-in experience was smooth and everything was ready when we arrived there. The staff in-charge of our room, named Jeff, was very attentive. He explained everything including the pet policy and the express check-out option. We chose 1 bedroom unit which is very spacious (109 sqm) that include kitchen combined with dining room, living room with big television, study room and spacious bedroom. This place also allows guests to bring 1 pet not more than 15kg, which is nice and we brought our rabbit to stay there. There are 3 outdoor pool available so it's not too crowded. There is also beach nearby which we can just walk to the backdoor to access. It is just around 1km from Beach station where lots of outdoor experience are happening. There are only 2 things that i'd say can be improved: 1. The carpark location to the residence unit is pretty far. But I guess those with 2 bedroom unit will have the carpark at the front of the unit. 2. The hot water needs to be turned on 1 hour before bath. This is a little bit annoying if you didn't know that up front. Other than that, I'd say the overall experience is nice.…
As a 47+ countries traveler myself, this place is magnificent. Let's talk about the great points about it, and some constructive feedback after. Great points - 1. The room is amazing, elegant, well designed and we feel very relaxed in it. Bath tub and shower room are great. 2. The workshops and activities we participated were all well conducted, we enjoyed them very much. We are impressed with the hospitality provided by Sheryl (the one who conducted the boba milk tea session and bracelet session) 3. The person who served us when we arrived, the person (C) who served us at the Knolls and the assistant manager (V) who made sure there are options (although limited) for us as we are Buddhism vegetarian (this is due to the constructive feedback later). 4. People at the Spa was polite, friendly, very attentive. 5. The staffs at the pool side are very good and responsive. 6. Afternoon tea and the living room service was top notch, the whole place amazes me. 7. They treated me very well as it was my birthday staycation, the little touch here and there did make me feel very welcomed and nice. Constructive Feedback 1. The culturist was not very responsive when I emailed them two months ago, then followed up with them one month ago. Once I follow up again, they told me all the activities are fully booked, until I myself need to find solution for him to help me to get to participate the activities. This is not ok. 2. The options of what kind of activities we can do during our stay are not properly informed. I, as a customer needs to do my homework to do research and ask the culturist via email (it was painful by paying this kind of price and get this kind of service) and yet the person was not responsive. Sheryl is the saving point for this, when I feedback this to her while I was at the hotel, she personally checked and came back to me with the options and advises me which activity to go for. This is Creative Solution. Big applause to her as a fresh grad who can perform so well! 3. I have emailed Capella 1-2 months ago to inform them about our Buddhism vegetarian diet, as well as making a booking at the Knolls. Turned out to be, the chefs ask C to inform us that they can only provide us wok fried beehoon, wok fried rice for my birthday dinner? Seriously? Then i told them we wanted something different and even provide some ideas to them. They provided the food after all, which is lovely, but we need to say, we were starved as the food only came up after one hour plus (we arrived at 6.30pm, appetizer came at 7.35pm). I am just wondering whether the chef is not well informed on this diet? Will it be different kind of treatment if it is a Halal or Kosher diet? I am not sure, maybe Capella can let me know on this. Again, I would recommend Capella to all my friends, and I hope they can improve on the points I raise and it will be even better!…
Check in was done promptly. Love the nice small touches such as a lovely plush peacock given to my son. Would be nicer if they were to inform us of the facilities that they have at the reception. They did email a resort brochure a couple of days before. However, it would be good that they check with us whether we are joining for any activities during our stay there. Nothing was mentioned at the reception about what activities they have. There is a musky smell when we stepped into the room. I think it is a little worn and need some renovation. The musky smell went away the next day though. However, the service at the resort made up for it. House keeping is good. They even folded some of my clothes and place my things neatly. It was my husband's birthday and they gave a cake to celebrate his birthday. In addition, they gave my son some cookies and M&M on a plate with his name on it. Wonderful personal touch. Love that. Buggy service is always prompt. The lobby is a little far from the apartment. When we try to walk to the lobby, Staff who are driving by in a buggy will always approach us to check if we require a buggy to get to any location. The staff are mostly helpful and will approach promptly when we appear to require some help. Pool service is great. They will come by to lay the towels out for you and provide fresh drinking water. Sometimes, they will offer a cup of orange juice or a ice Popsicle. There are several floats in the pool for us to use. We ordered some in room dinning. They will bring the food in and lay it out at the dinning table properly. They even provide chocolate as after dinner sweets. Love the service. It is mostly more hits than misses. Hence, overall still a wonderful stay.…
We stayed in Capella before ago and just went back just to have a bit of an R&R to take away the stress of the current situation we are facing. A little stay-cation with the family changes your mood and it was definitely a nice experience again here in Capella. The cool breeze at night with the beautiful pool wrapped around by trees and free drinks on the house took all the stress away. Thank you, Jevy for taking care of our family during our family staycation and it was a PERFECT R&R amidst the current situation. Thank you, Capella! Stay Safe!
