We booked a premium sea view room for about €160.00 per night, which is expensive for the Philippines, especially as ENGR is a 3-star property. To compare: the 5-star Sofitel Manila charges only about €120.00 a night, which includes similar facilities (pool, breakfast) and more. Let's start with the good stuff: hotel is located in the city center (yet on the brink, so quiet) of El Nido close to the strip. Beautiful view on the bay. Beautiful building and well kept garden and pool area. Breakfast was fine, despite the many negative comments on this. Overall too expensive for what they offer. We booked an expensive room, but price and quality didn’t match. It might have been our personal experience, but we feel like they’ve marketed themselves as upscale looking at their rates, which they can’t match. Some remarks: - WiFi didn’t work in the room. - Wall covered in leakage stains from AC. - No premium facilities, such as robes, slippers, beach towels. - Inconsistenties in pricing offered for activities as well as late delivery/pick up, which is resulted in discussions and waiting. - Low water pressure in the shower and barely any warm water. - Cash only (and none of the Euronet ATMs in town accept Mastercard). - Beach in front of the hotel is basically a road. Pictures online seem to show something different, with beds on sand. Guess this depends on one’s interpretation. - During our stay there were 3 or 4 building sites directly behind the hotel's walls, which did get quite noisy. Not the hotel's fault, of course, but FYI. I do want to point out that we have shared our remarks with the team. We went back to Front Desk immediately after check-in. Although it took a good 24+ hours and several reminders from our side before our complaints were acknowledged, we eventually received a small compensation, which was very much appreciated.…
A very nice Hotell at the end of the El Nido beach. A quiet areas. Nice staff doing their best helping the tourists. You can book all tours in the area from the reception, but the price is a bit more expensive then when booking in the streets. My room had a okay view towards the beach, and had a fridge and a safe
Absolutely wonderful! An amazing first stop during our time in El Nido! Our family stayed in a pool/beachside bungalow and we loved it! The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the views from the porch were fantastic. We loved the pool, being able to walk right onto the beach, and the poolside bar being right near our bungalow. Awesome breakfast buffet and beautiful, modern facilities. Best of all though was the service! Every staff member was so hospitable and went above and beyond for us and any requests we may have had! *Special thank you to the security guard who when we didn’t have change to pay for our tricycle, literally RAN down the street to a market to make change.
Would put 0 star if I could. We were charged for a blood stain in the towel?? At check in you are asked to sign in a list of chargeable items which don't exist in any normal hotel (blood, make up stain in towel??), which implies their greedy business practices. You need to be very careful as they can impose charge which are not usual for any other hotel. Zero WIFI in the room all the time - very annoying when I was sick to have to go to lobby for wifi. The room is not cleaned up to standard. Shower water is the worst, spitting very little so taking forever to have a shower. We both had food poisoning on the 3rd day. We decided to Check out 2 days early to original booking as this place is so terrible. Airport pick up van did not come. So all the annoying things that added up. You will have zero relaxation during your holiday. They Staffs did not listen on any of these, not even an apologize. Do not recommend!!! …
Pros: The resort has a beautiful pool and views (if you’re ‘lucky’ to get a sea view), and is an excellent location in the town - so close to everything that is happening and activities. Breakfast is mediocre but the service staff are lovely. Everything else was terrible. I booked a sea-view room, which is obviously more expensive than a standard room and which is what we ended up being given. We had a view of a construction site and were woken up early by loud construction - not very relaxing! I checked the booking to make sure I hadn’t booked the standard room, and I hadn’t. I showed reception there was a mix up with our room and to be moved to the correct room we’d paid for. The lady at the desk checked on her computer and read out ‘sea view room’. Then it seemed she realized they made a mistake where there weren’t actually any sea-view rooms left for our stay available, so proceeded to tell me that it wasn’t their fault and that I should take it up with Agoda/Booking. I was also told that it’s *my* problem not theirs, and that “this has happened before to other people”… Sorry what?? If this is happening to so many people then they need to sort this out and it is not the problem of the customer! Guests should get what they pay for. She then proceeded to tell me that we can move rooms to sea-view but we would have to move twice, and that there would be a fee for this - she backtracked to decide I had only paid for a standard room and I would have to pay to upgrade… even though my booking clearly stated ‘sea view room’ in my confirmation and on her screen too. In the end she dropped the extra fee but we did have to move twice again during our stay. The whole thing was a shambles and put a huge dampen on our stay. Further, there was wi-fi in only one of the three rooms we were put in. We had to make phone/video calls in the lobby on Christmas day with the staff staring at us and making us feel uncomfortable. Unless you don’t care about what room you’re in and just want a decent bed in a good location, I would absolutely not recommend this place.…
On the plus side Beautiful view of sea, easy access to El Nido, pool table, nice pool area and our room was absolutely grand, clean and spacious overlooking a grassy area and mountain view. On the downside, there is little craic at hotel. There should be bar beside pool where guests can mingle and get drinks. We tried going to floor 5 for bar one evening which was soulless..it could be a beautiful space on the rooftop with a little more effort..,the barman was very friendly, but there were little customers. Also at the pool area, whilst it looks the part, there aren’t enough chairs and loungers and the pool is quite deep. We got bitten quite a few times by ants during our one swim. Staff were very friendly and always smiling. Although we were at one time left in room with no toilet paper, floor mat, small towels as the cleaners took things away and didn’t replace. I did ask at reception in afternoon to replace, came back at least six hours later and had to ask again. Though, I think there sometimes are things lost in translation as opposed to people being unhelpful… also breakfast was fine. Not super exciting but You definitely won’t starve. Bacon was nice and scrambled eggs some days. You will find something but we found it more fun to try out the breakfast places in El Nido. I did however have the nicest cup of tea here. Not bad hotel at all if you want to be near El Nido town.…
Would put 0 star if I could. First time ever in 30 years of travel that I was charged for a blood stain in the towel. Cleaning staffs don’t even know how to wash or even put this towel to a washing machine right away? Zero WIFI in the room all the time - very annoying when I was sick to have to go to lobby for wifi. We decided to Check out 2 days early to original booking - didn’t even bother to get back the booking for last 2 days. Airport pick up van did not come. So all the annoying things that added up. Staffs did not listen. Do not recommend!!!
Good points: - the pool is nice - the location is fantastic for activities - the decor is nice - the massages were good - the breakfast is okay Why I am unlikely to return: We paid extra for a sea-view room, booking our room via Agoda. On arrival we were given a room with a view of a construction site- we weren’t too bothered about this until the following morning when we were woken by loud construction sounds. This is particularly horrible when you’re jet lagged. My sister spoke to the lady on the front desk and showed her the booking confirmation which clearly stated ‘sea-view room’. The lady on the desk’s response was that Agoda had made an error and we had actually not booked a room that faced the sea; she said that we had to pay extra to move to a room that didn’t face the construction site. After some back and forth we were moved to the sea-view room that we had booked at no extra cost (the fact that there were cheaper non-sea view rooms on Agoda suggests that El Nido Garden Resort has made the error here). However, as there were no sea-view rooms available continuously for the next 4 nights we had to move rooms 3 times during our stay (this was frustrating as we had activities booked). I’m pretty sure that they downgraded us because they had overbooked the hotel. Further, the Wi-Fi is horrendous. It only worked in one of the rooms that we stayed in and we had to come down to the hotel lobby to make phone calls on Christmas Day. Ultimately, we didn’t get what we paid for- one sea-view room for 5 nights and Wi-Fi, and the whole thing was a headache.…
What a wonderful hotel Its not a three star hotel ,absolutely four star. Very close to restaurants and bars, just four minutes walk, but around the hotel is quiet, so nice view over the el nido beach, and pool. Room very large ,clean and brilliant towels and linen , kind staff and all with a good price . If you want to stay in el nido proper town just go there ,I booked here after reading the reviews and I am happy with that . If I come back absolutely come back Thanks el nido garden resort 🙏🏻 I have a suggestion for the hitel ,it has a nice view from 5th floor that was bar and at night you can’t see anything,I suggest to serve the breakfast there with that great view and then many people will come for drink in the afternoon
absolutely loved the days I spent in El nido, and at the gardens, the location is absolutely perfect and the hotel and especially the staff where very professional and helpful , definitely recommend staying here
