My husband and I stayed here for the seven day quarantine upon our return from the US. Being in quarantine is very difficult but staying at MO made it more enjoyable. The food was great and the staff were very helpful. This is our second time doing a quarantine and will stay here again the next time we travel out of the country.
Staying in Hong Kong's most-expensive quarantine hotel, for a detention novice, was a bit like being a passenger on a well-appointed space ship to a brave new world. I've stayed at a few Mandarin Orientals elsewhere in Asia, but as a Hong Kong resident working in Central, I would have had no reason to stay at the Landmark if not for the city's zero-Covid policies. Suffice to say that while I was free to leave at midnight on my 7th day, I stayed the night and left the following morning with their brown bagged breakfast. With numerous Michelin starred restaurants, every meal here was excellent. More importantly, I'll benefit from thoughtful provisions like a stretch band with videos from MO spa instructors long after I've checked out. I'm even more of a fan after this involuntary stay. This would be an excellent rating if the room had a less-claustrophobic view.…
Our 7 day quarantine stay at the LMO was wonderful - not something you’d usually say about an enforced isolation period! Our family of four had two connecting rooms which provided us with ample space to work and relax, and did not feel claustrophobic at all. While the hardware was what you’d expect of a Mandarin Oriental, the service took it to another level. The associates were always patient and obliging - extremely important since we were effectively locked behind closed doors, and accommodated our various requests to make our young kids as comfortable as possible, eg being flexible about the food offerings despite the fixed full board menu. The front desk team led by Severin was on 24 hours a day and never failed to respond to our requests within minutes. Their colleagues on the phone lines were equally efficient - we always got to speak to a cheerful associate whenever we called. Special mention goes to Venus, Wilson and Kelvin who took our various requests in their stride and never failed to deliver on them! While the quarantine package was not the cheapest in the market (to state the obvious!) we thought it was well worth the price tag as it was great to come back to such nice digs after a very stressful airport experience, and even more important that you know you will be well taken care of during your 7 days of “incarceration” … which in the LMO felt like a very well-run and luxurious summer camp! Well done Team LMO!…
I stayed at the Landmark in the L600 Deluxe room for a one week (nee 14 day) quarantine stay. I had previously done a 21 day quarantine in a 3 star hotel, and while acceptable, the difference in the two may somewhat affect this review. However I’ll try to stay factual and state primarily - it is worth the price. I was originally slated for a 14 day stay, the rules changed, and rather than letting that cause me stress the mandarin contacted me, asked me if I was to stay 7 days, and immediately changed the reservation and refunded me the difference. This is a theme I will revisit in this review. The Landmark Mandarin was very proactive in making you feel welcome, anticipating our needs and ensuring a happy stay. They reservation staff was available at all times and responded promptly to emails and whatsapps - you get a dedicated whatsapp channel to ask for things or to me enquiries. It works very well. The check in process was very surprising - you emerge from the dystopian airport jail process and bus ride to the main entrance on Queen’s road - not some dodgy back entrance like in other quarantine hotels. The concierge is there to greet, like any other time you stay at the Mandarin. They are happy to see you. If you have done this before elsewhere you will recognize this as something that is very much appreciated. The room is amazing, fresh fruit, nice bath/shower/toilet area as you would expect. Nothing has been compromised for this stay due it’s quarantine status. There is a ton of water in glass bottles that they reuse - the other hotel created a toxic styrofoam and plastic health hazard to be dumped into the landfill. Everything the Mandarin gives you is biodegradable. If this matters to you, you will be stoked. At the last place I ordered a nutrition kitchen meal plan in addition to the prison food meal plan you are forced to buy and not eat. I warn you, not at the Mandarin. The food is far far better than they had to do. It’s essentially Mandarin restaurant food. We had to tell them to stop sending bread, the portions were too generous. We were eagerly looking forward to meals, rather than hoping other occupants of the previous hotel weren’t being poisoned. Of course you may order off the normal hotel room service menu anytime you want. The staff were perfectly accommodating, if you wanted something it was there in 5 minutes tops (I feel faster than normal Mandarin hotel service, which is excellent) They provide an air filter, there’s plenty of room to set up your exercise gear (we had bikes/taxc/Zwift) and no silly restrictions on using it. The internet was very good. This was a problem at the last place where it was horrific. The manager called to check on us, which was nice. Every attention to detail was paid, to the extent possible in a quarantine hotel. The day before we left they called us to ask when we would be ready to leave and to make arrangements. Just another small touch I appreciated. We were so pleased with this stay I will prioritize Mandarin hotels in the future.…
We’ve stayed previously for a staycation and this time during our 7 night quarantine I just can’t fault it - it honestly felt like we were on an extended staycation. The food was so delicious, always hot, healthy, with the finest ingredients and always on time. The service was second to none with deliveries or requests coming to the room almost immediately. LMO was very generous with complimentary goodies offered - even with an interactive mixology cocktail class we attended. Thank you LMO for making our 7 nights so much easier than expected - I can’t recommend you enough.
