As usual, Landmark Mandarin staff is the best in the business. It was a bit sad to see some old faces after the long Covid restrictions no longer at the hotel but nonetheless everyone provided world class customer service. From John at the front door, Marie at Mo Bar, JD the head bartender, everyone at the concierge desk, the staff and sommelier at Somm, Christoph the Hotel Manager, the front desk staff, house keeping, and Connie the Director of Rooms all made my recent stay special and memorable. I mentioned in a prior posting that when I used to manage people in my prior life, I always provided my experience at MO Landmark as the perfect example of what great customer service looks like. Anticipate not reactive, friendly service with a smile, always remembering my name and taking interest in my day. Will be back next year

The hotel staff was always give the guest a memorable experience. This is the first time with my family stay in this hotel and i had make it my only choice when I come to Hong Kong for vacation trip each time. The staff are always friendly, the helpful bellgirl (forgot her name but she wear glasses) and doorman as well, the F&B team at the Somm restaurant they aware what I am going to order for my breakfast especially lady from Indonesia, the housekeeping team, the reception at spa Center… All of them are service with smile and sincere. The feeling for a loyalty guest is excellent and I am definitely will stay in this hotel whenever I am in Hong Kong.

Booked LMO L600 room under Staycation by MO for a couple nights to end my 5 weeks trip in Hong Kong. The room itself was very spacious with a decent living room area and very nice amenities were provided. Location’s also great. Now the dining part of the hotel, which I has mixed feelings about. From what I’m aware of, LMO doesn’t has a proper dining space for hotel guests for breakfast or dinner included in the hotel rate. Dining was taking place in a very loud bar during night and it was packed with people drinking and shouting around. On the second night of my stay, I had another dinner at the bar as it was included under my ‘Staycation with MO’ package, ordered a chicken salad for appetizer and it was very undercooked. I ate a piece of it and realised that it was not cooked properly. I complained and a staff member named Tom (if not mistaken) took my food away and offered me a complimentary cocktail to apologise. I truly appreciate that gesture but it was just a disappointment. The kitchen team should be more careful before serving food out as it’s very hard to see if the food is raw or not inside a very dark bar, especially when the chicken was already sliced. Main course and dessert were great tho. Another issue was I had an issue with my credit card being hacked during my visit in Hong Kong resulting that I have to use cash to put the hotel deposit. I have paid all the charges for the room upon check-in and I’m well aware of having to put deposit during the stay. But having a customer to withdraw cash everytime the deposit is used is just illogical for me. I had dinner at SOMM, lunch at Amber, some spa treatment and I have to top up my deposit everytime it’s running low. I’ve stayed at a lot of big names like Aman, FS, Capella, Oetker Collection just to name a few but I have never been treated like I’m not gonna pay my bills during check out eventhough I have racked up my bill to quadruple amount of my deposit. The bill was always presented at the end of the stay upon checking out in other establishments. This is a very busy hotel, if you want privacy, this might not be the one for you as anyone could walk in the hotel as it’s connected to a mall and has multiple entry without a guard standing by to check on people going in and out of the hotel. On the last note, Amber and SOMM are a great place to dine.

But that’s not to say it doesn’t deserve 5*, it does. The room quality and levels of service are on a par with the very best from anywhere else in the world we have stayed; the restaurant selection is outrageous - LOOK at how many Michelin stars they have; the spa is utterly heavenly (other than the pool, which is pedestrian). It’s just that all of these wonderful aspects don’t really seem to be linked together in any kind of cogent way that suggests it’s a super posh hotel. This may be as simple as the fact that the lobby is quite small and that I don’t really rate MO Bar but I also think that for the money people are paying to stay here (though our stay was actually free with points), it’s not enough to just have world class pieces together, the completed jigsaw really should impress too. Every other 5* hotel we have stayed at in HK had a sense of character and style which was definitively its own but whilst I would rave about the rooms, food and spa here, I’m not sure what will come to mind when I picture the hotel itself. I hope that makes sense. A piece of advice: if you stay here, use the spa, even if you don’t book a massage. It’s amazing!!

I’m pleased to share with you that here’s my second stay with LMO again. And they are the few hotels which can touch me for having a new stay again, as I’m less to stay with some of the hotels that I stayed before for my habit. I’m glad to see Kevin and Anson at the front desk again. What a surprise they still remember me. Thanks for their warm greetings again, they treated me like a friend. Anyway, I booked the type of L450 with a king size bed room for this time. And It was fully wonderful. The entertainment which inside the room were fantastic. Thanks for the welcoming snacks and champagne. They were fully made my day. Honestly, I can say that there’s nothing can be fault to them. And I’m really enjoy staying with LMO. I wish their business will be resumed smoothly after the tourist coming back to Hong Kong. And would have more people from the world to enjoy their brilliant services. I must back again soon!

Lovely service and room impeccably turned out but room had virtually no natural light and was adjacent to an office so the staff overlooked you anytime you open the drapes. Room was a bit pokey all to accommodate a massive bath / hot tub that I bet gets used once in a blue moon.

Having stayed in Ritz for three days, I decided to continue my staycation in Mandarin Oriental for the rest four days. The location for MO is definitely more convenient , for it’s in the very central of HongKong. I was greeted and welcomed by Rosabella , who was super nice to me. She answered every questions that I had very patiently. It was so pleasant to meet such a professional and kind person , and she really made my day. Kudos to Rosabella for her awesome service! Basically, the room is clean and spacious. But the awesome breakfast is definitely the cherry on top! Breakfast is amazing! You can choose either western or eastern styles, and the kitchen will make it for according to your demands! I will absolutely come back to Mandarin Oriental next time when I am in town!

Its my first time to stay in Landmark MO: 1) All the staffs are well trained, they are very polite and professional. They can always addess to the need of mine and my girlfriend's. 2) I and my girlfirend stayed in Room 600 with the signature bespoke bathhub and my girlfirend super love the bathhub. The only downside was the lack of a view in L600 room. 3) The foods in SOMM and MO Bar are fantastic.
