The tiny room was very clean, and indeed most of the time I saw the friendly manager, she was scrubbing and cleaning. The bed was 175cm long. The air con worked very well, which was lucky because it was really hot and humid outside. The hawkers at chungking mansions either recognise you or only approach people who look like they don't know where they are going, and I never had to wait too long for a lift. Owner speaks a little English and was helpful and friendly. Great location.

I know this is not the Ritz but the staff was very rude. Rooms are very very small. You will be better off going to a hostel. Everything here needs improving. Very very disappointed. I should have listened to the other bad reviews.

Great location - close to everything in TST. May and her sister always look after me - I like that the place is always spotlessly clean and tidy - and they are always friendly and helpful. For bargain price accommodation in one of the world's most expensive cities - you can't go wrong here. Many other guest houses/small hotels in Chung King charge same or more for scruffy dirty rooms with unhelpful surly staff in an insecure environment. Chose this one - you will always be welcome here!

A typical Hong Kong guest house type accomodation facility. I would advise staying in a better overal facility than the Chungking Mansion if you can. The Beverly place is Ok and I have stayed a few times when needing last minute accomodation. With a little time to seach, other places of equal value can be found in nicer general surrounds. It is my experience that better value for money can be found during the peak times by going to actual 3 star hotels.

I stayed here one Saturday night because all the hotels in HK are basically full during weekend but what I got was a lot nastier than I imagined. I got moved. No lock, broken adaptor, hair everywhere.
